I have to be on the other side of this argument.

School is for getting an education (however flawed the public education system may be... thats another topic) not for discussing gaming strategies.

I am sure you can wait until you get home to check your private messages.

I'm in my final year at school. It's all study for me, so no WM Expressway @ school. Although, I do have a lot of free periods, so sometimes, I get a bit cheeky and post a bit tongue.gif the guy that handles the internet @ our school doesn't care. He loves cars and such so he lets me see WM and other auto related forums. He also has a DeviantArt account too, which he checks at school so he can't block that either:D pure luck for me!

My workplace blocks WME for the same reason, since they use Websense as well. In fact, I made a thread a while back about it, complete with a screenshot:

http://wmexpressway.net/index.php?showtopic=27735

Anyway, how to get around it depends on how your school's network is configured. At my workplace, the internet access is not determined by individual computers, so what you do to a computer will not gain you any more access than any other computer. You cannot counteract the Websense from the client side. For this situation, the best way to get around it (well... the only way) would be to set up a VPN into your home computer, then use your home computer as a sort of makeshift proxy server. After all, Websense blocks proxy sites. But if you create a DYNDNS account, it shouldn't be blocked. I know that my personal DYNDNS is not blocked at work. I just have yet to put a VPN in place. I'll be working on it this week.

Here's hoping I can get it done! <3 Hacking!

Gotta love word-based filters.

Some asshole can go on an otherwise innocent site, type in "sex," and bam--no more access to that site from schools or work!

All mainstream proxy servers are blocked by Websense. Which is why you have to use your personal computer and personal DNS as a proxy instead.

therers a program known as "U" that can bypass ALL filters.

it's supposedly designed for third world countries where the governments filters through all the news.

The program is in Chinese though, I think.
