You have really good tastes in cars; I owned a SW20 (2ndGen MR2) for 4 years and just sold it. My favorite car is a Lotus Europa, period. Im looking into FDs and 32s as the next project seeing that the MR2 is sold.

Very much alike.

I'm growing to like the old, raw car feel more and more despite my rather limited and still brief experience behind the wheel. The less assists the better, the more you feel every pebble the better, etc. Right now Z33 delivers very well, but I know that older stuff probably feels even better.

I feel the same, I keep longing for a car that is more and more simplified...erm, less and less of 'car' I guess. I enjoy a 'pure' sports car, but still want something that will perform around a circuit.

Well between the two, (FC and FD) which has the potential to be a more sucessful track car in the slightly higher HP (400-450ish) range?

Im not going to deny the asthetics of both cars, chooseing which one would look better would depend on my mood, but Im looking for a all around GTS-3/GTS-4 class performer.

Let me just say that a 400whp FC feels A LOT faster than a 400whp FD. Not that it necessarily is or anything. I dunno, the FD feels a lot smoother. But the FC is easier to work with in my opinion. Plus the FD is very snappy, if ya know what I mean.

And it's a lot cheaper.

if i ever went that way i would get another fc...except the prices are ridiculous compared to when i last bought one. its a hard call because fds are the ones kind of down on price now.

I drove a MR2 for 5 years and at several events, snappy cars are the least of my worries. I guess Im more conserned about lap times over anything.

I have the rest of my life to build this car, money will come over time if things happens and money is short.

Im not one of those "Whats the fastest car I can build for X amount of dollars" guys.

I just want to be happy with my purchase, because I wasnt happy $28,000 into one MR2. I could and maybe should have put more into the car to see where it would go. It sucks losing money in a car, its something your aware of when you get into this lifestyle. Its something that I'll do again, and Im comfortable with that.

I have a feeling my next car will see alot more money over time the the MR2.

I mean, I doubt it was 'designed' for wangan, thats just what it promotes and advertises. Still looks good none-the-less. Im a sucker for flip up cars with headlight covers like the one in your sig.

Ive really developed a soft-spot for the 2 most recent Aston Martins, the Vantage S and Virage.
user posted image
The Vantage S-because it is a more track ready version of the normal Vantage, and has a tad bit more power, yet still retains the "soul" of a daily driver Aston. Plus,it looks more agressive than the normal Vantage. To me,its a much refreshed version of the Vantage, and Aston put new life into it. This Top Gear article is a decent read (read it in Clarkson voice for best results). Id like one in either blue or black with tan leather. The AM dealer here in Dallas has one in AM Racing green...not bad.
user posted image
The Virage-its a great placement between the DB9 and DBS. It has 20hp more or less than those 2,and has some of the technology from the DBS while retaining the comfort and luxuries of the DB9. It also has a refreshed look over those 2. Ive already decided I want a coupe in white over cream leather with dark brown wood trim.

The first time I saw the RX-8, I fell in love it it. The slick '4-door' coupe and the revised 13B really hit me home. The Mazdaspeed rims and wing even did it better.

Other than that:

This. The Ken and Mary Skyline. The KPGC110 Skyline GT-R. Quite an underrated beauty, as it sold the least among the Godzillas, but this just comes off as really good for me, especially the rear, and the iconic "4 taillights". What I would give to get my hands on one and tune it...

1- AE86: 4A-GE engine swap enough power to go downhill drift with few minor tweaks to the suspension and weight reduction
2- WRX Sti: turbo kit and fine tuning enough to do rallying
3- JZ70: engine swap, reinforce the suspension and frame, weight reduction, adding turbo kit, inter cooler, aerodynamics it'll be beast
4- GT-R series: engine tuning, turbo system, useful enough to go on freeways and on highways

honda accord v6 coupe. 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-60 in five-and-a-half, quarter-mile in 14. cargo space and rear seats for road trips. honda refinement. not a police-magnet. no need to buy higher-grade petrol. no need for a second car for winter.
