Porsche 911 GT3 RS

But more realistically for my price range, I'd love to pick up a 944 next year and drop in a 968 engine and transmission.

Why not just get a 968 then?

Oh, and if you do decide to do that, you might as well rebuild the 3.0L four banger into a turbo setup while you are at it.

944s can be had for about half the cost of a 968 and are lighter. Problem will be finding the parts cheap to make it worth it, but given time I think I might be able to pull it off.

If I had a 968 I'd keep it N/A, ~200hp would be fine for me.

Maybe a 944 turbo would be a good option, but harder to find.

And no evil LS1 mods laugh.gif

Eh, out here 944s go for less than 4 grand for one in great condition inside and out with low miles for their age. The joys of living in CA biggrin.gif

favorite cars have to be italian, german and JDM cars. italian top cars would have to be ferrari/lamborghini/pagani, german would have to be porsche/bmw/benz/audi,. might have some more that forgot to mention. then japanese, god theres too much to list lol..

but one of my dreams cars has to be the air-cooled porsche 993 turbo "s" 0-60 in 3.6sec with 424hp. OMG!! plus those looks... w00t2.gif the new 2007/8porsche turbos/gt2 look good too. another would be ferrari f50 or enzo

My '87 Dodge Shelby Charger GLHS, and the '68-70 Chargers, specifically the '68. I want a '68 Charger sooo bad right now, I got a built 440 sitting in an old parts truck just waiting for it smile.gif After those would be the Viper and the '71 Challenger. Attached an old pic of my GLHS, it's currently awaiting a session w/ a frame machine right now sad.gif

Woo! Turbo Doge FTW! My dad owns a '87 GLHS too. His is #658 of 1000.

Are you on the Turbo Dodge forums?

IamThe280Z - Your thiunking of the Chrysler Conquest, also the Starion as you said.

Yeah I am on the TurboDodge, Turbo-Mopar, and BoostedMopar sites. Same name there too. Mostly I'm on the BoostedMopar site (see my sig wink2.gif ) and just go to the others to buy/sell stuff. One of my best friends owns BM.

My GLHS is #392. I also currently have an '84 Shelby Charger that's in the middle of a 2.0 DOHC swap, an '85 Turbo Z, an '87 Shelby Z, an '83 Rampage 2.2, and an '89 Lebaron that's getting a V6 and a newer cockpit interior. And that's just my turbo Dodges wink2.gif I think I have somewhere around 16-18 cars and trucks right now, mostly Dodges, except for the 240Z, the RX-7 Turbo II, and my '92 Tercel daily.

IamThe280Z, if I were an uptight TD guy I would verbally beat you for comparing the Charger to a Conquest laugh.gif Although Conquests are sweet too, I had a couple but never got to drive them much due to either engine or title problems.

I wonder how many people here know/can guess what GLHS stands for?

GLH = Goes like hell

GLHS = Goes like hell, Shelby

Im a Turbo Dodge guy, I was raised around my dads GLHS Charger and his best friends Spirit, both with 2.2 engines. Now my dads GLHS is getting a built 2.5 swap. Has everything to achieve 400whp on a decent tune, atleast this is according to the guys on the TD forums.

You got it cool.gif I'm keeping mine a 2.2, if I go to something else it'll be a 2.0 or 2.4 DOHC. 400hp on a 2.5, better have a good ported head and run 25psi at least w/ a good intercooler. I assume 8v still? I rarely make over to TD.com other than in the classifieds, spend most of my time on BoostedMopar.

What kind of Spirit?

Thats all I know of, he is running a built (I mean REALLY built) 8v 2.5 engine with a Spearco intercooler. Knowing my dad, a hell of a lotta boost too.

The Spirit, I cant remember, a '88 with a 2.2 I believe. Sorry, I was really young when the Spirit was sold for a Shelby Charger.

This man speaks the truth.

I used to have an FC, but i was kidding myself when i told myself I dreamed of FCs more than FDs. After driving a few FDs, the FD is the official car of my realistic dreams.

FCs do have quite a few "advantages" over FDs though, depending on car setup choice.

I am a new owner of an FD as of a month or so ago. laugh.gif

After I finish pulling the engine and finishing the port job, I'll post up all of my "progress" pictures. Body is in niiiiiiiice shape.

I've had an FC for years though. laugh.gif

Actually, funny you should say, I talked to my dad and it was a Red Spirit R/T! LOL, he may have a pic or two of the cars together. If he can find them, I'll get them up here to you.

To the 7 fans - I couldn't tell you if I liked the FC or FD. I've driven both the Sa22 and the FC3S and liked the FC more out of the two. I dont know if I could tell you if I liked the FD more, never had the great oppertunity to drive one.

I would be a FC owner, that was my first car of choice when I was growing up, but my parents didnt know the first thing when it came to rotary engines so I was told I couldnt get one. They werent going to trust my with my knowledge of the wankel engines, even though I learned how they worked before a conventional (piston) internal combustion engine.

Yoshida Seiji + BMWNeoType - I envy you guys, I would put my soul into a RX-7. But Im limited due to my parents, although it might have been a good idea (for my own good). I plan to get rid of the MR2 if I had ever had the change to afford an RX7.
