QUOTE (N643 @ 21 minutes, 54 seconds ago) | Hi Mr teddy (funny how ruperts other name is called Mr bear too)
Also why does j full Windsor looks so odd |
I didn't do full Windsors in Japan at least most of the time. I only did a full Windsor on day one. Unfortunately I like being classy but unique and my usual fare made me blend in a little too well with the local salarymen. So I took to wearing my long coats and tying my ties in the needlessly complicated but impossibly cool looking Eldridge knots for the remainder of my time there. some other selfies with that detail- This post has been edited by The J on May 11 2013, 10:37 AM

Life long experience tying literally over a dozen ways of tying my tie means it's not too hard for me to do them, but the knot itself is needlessly ornate and that's part of the statement. There are easier ways to make an inverse tie. Take the Trinity Knot for example: But if I tie to impress, I prefer the intricate, flower like braided pattern that comes out of some of the Eldridge knots. @ Whitz. Every man should have a suit and feel at home in it. It's like a girl in a bikini. Some girls think they don't have a bikini body. That's nonsense. Slap a bikini on your body and you've got a bikini body. It doesn't matter what shape you're in or what you look like. A man should feel good in his own suit. You wear the suit proudly and it makes all the difference in the world. Let the haters hate. You're not out to please them. You do it for you. Just as a girl in a bikini shouldn't make other girls ashamed, don't let other men in suits make you feel ashamed to wear a suit! Sorry if that was a little too pep talky. I will occasionally do the Merovingian. It goes well with simple patterns. The nice thing about knowing how to tie multiple knots is you can make a cheap, boring tie suddenly awesome. I have a red tie with silver bars that looks boring and honestly tacky when I tie a half/full Windsor with it, but you tie any of the inverse patterns and the neck area. Wish I had a better picture but that's the tie I'm talking about with Eldridge I'd have to hunt for pictures of one with the Merovingian because I haven't done it in years: Once the jet lag wears off I'll post the details of the first challenge to win one of my ties. Hmmm I like your comparison between suits and bikinis.... but I think a body-con dress works better . Sometimes a bikini is just not right... but when it comes to body-con dresses you have either stretchy elastic or nicely structured and panelled ones. Suits are the same in that they all have differing cuts to suit different body shapes and different cutting styles to suit different tastes. As J mentioned (but it applies to all fashion) you have to be confident that you can rock your suit (or clothing piece).... But you also have to find that fitting one ^^. One that suits you. (Im sorry~ !! //not trying to pick fights ><" )

I'm surprised with your issues about your self image in a suit you'd consider something as flashy as a full white. It usually takes some confidence to be able to be seen in an all white, not to mention how hard it is to keep clean if you're out and about. I get really self conscious when I'm in either of mine. Myself and my brother at my mother's wedding to our stepfather. I need to slim down a few more kilos to get comfortable into that suit again. Which is fine, I only use it for weddings, birthdays, secret assassinations and other truly special events anyway. This post has been edited by The J on May 11 2013, 11:20 AM
