RPM 29: Lesson in Life

After school is over, Rei works as a postman. With a white scooter, he delivers packages and mail to the designated address. He didn’t do this job as an earning but instead, as a cover to conceal his identity.
“Thank you very much, sir!” Rei bows as he gives the mail

He’s done working at six o’clock. It’s a tiring work because he needs to go here and there, including mail delivery to the working office.

Tonight, there won't be another race. The heat is still high and the security is tighter than usual. Because of Moriyama’s accident, the police are still on the lookout for any street racers that prowls the street. Without any races going on, Hikaru and the others are paying a visit to their girlfriend’s house, while Keith is helping his uncle doing tune up for their workshop.

Everyone has their own agenda, but what about Rei?

He also has his own agenda. He scours around for something in CNBC, something cheap for the moment, but can turn expensive in the near future.
“That printing company sure is having a bad financial crisis. The stocks prices are dropping down like me when I do a bungee jump” Rei smirks, “I better go tomorrow to the Nikkei, and buy 50% stocks of the company”

Rei writes out the name of the stock he’s going to buy and scours for something nicer around. This time, he sees the sales article of broken down house, just about five blocks from his house.
“Ah, there is an empty house” Rei smiled, “Maybe I can buy it, and turn the lot into something more profitable. I’ll take a look at it tomorrow”


What he’s doing with all that financial assets?

The day before, which is after his first victory over Moriyama, all of them had a talk at Kojiro’s restaurant. All of them are talking about what they have for the future.
“Hikaru, you don’t want to end up here, right? What kind of plans do you have in the future?” Rei asks

“Well, one time an old man asks me the same thing” Hikaru answered, “I want to be an editor for a traveling magazine. Keith has the same idea as mine, so we intended to make a magazine together someday”

“It’s fun to accumulate money for a future investment” Keith smirked

Rei completely heard it and memorized what Hikaru and Keith have in mind. Next up, he asks Clark what does he wants in the future.
“I see… that’s something to look forward to” Rei nods, “What about you, Clark? I heard that you are going to delve in the green environment business”

“Ah, so you’ve heard” Clark smirks, “I want to open an organic farm, using worms to fertilize the soils. Me and Tarou already talking about the concepts for the restaurant”

“Yes, it’s going to be fun” Tarou added, “Let’s save up our money, so we can open our business together”

He heard it and remembers it once again.
Why bother? He never should meddle in their personal business. But as for Rei, he sees everything in a different perspective. He sees this as an opportunity to do a partnership and as a facility to invest his money.
“Why do you asks, Rei?” Steve looks puzzled, “Do you have a plan for your future as well?”

“Nah, I’m just asking” Rei lift his shoulders, “I haven’t decided what I will do in the near future”

And so that’s it. Don’t know why, but Rei is not a type of person who’d willing to work hard. He prefers to let the others takes care his business, while he fools around but keeps in watch.

Rei ask again about the details of his friend’s interest. When he learns about his friends’ point of view, he gives a feedback and opinion about what they interested at. It’s a two way study; when his friend tells him about their interest, he gives feedbacks, questions, and opinions, then his friends gives him more explanation and opinion he needs.

Tomorrow at lunch break in school, he goes to cafeteria to get a grilled mushroom and bento, apple yoghurt milk and then brings it to the roof. There he hid himself and eats while he discusses his intention to Nikkei.
“Yeah, I need all of the reports from last year to the day they bankrupt” Rei explained, “And please send it to my accounting advisor, so he can decide what I should do with it… just say it’s from Mikami Rei… yes, thank you and goodbye”

That’s one down, but he has another thing to look into. He needs to call the house realtor to ask about the house he’s going to buy.
“Yes, can I speak with Takafumi-san of property advisor? Alright, I’ll wait for him… please tell him that Mikami Rei is calling”

Rei eats his bento and waits for this Takafumi guy to answer the phone. While he waits, he eats his bento and look at sales article for more interesting assets to buy. After three minutes of waiting, he finishes eating his bento and talked to Takafumi.
“Yes, Takafumi speaking…” said a man from a phone

“Takafumi-san, I’m Mikami Rei” Rei introduces himself, “I saw your article at yesterday’s newspaper, and I'm interested to look at it today”

“Mikami Rei… as in runaway heir of Mikami Group?!” the man choked with surprise, “Thank you for trusting our humble realtor”

“Nah, I happen to see it yesterday when I scour the newspaper for something interesting for investment” Rei replies, “I will send my assistant, Minami-kun to survey the place. After school, he’s going to go to your office and please drive him to the place”

“Yes, sir” Takafumi replied, “Once again, thank you for trusting our humble realtor”

Rei hangs up the phone and drink his apple yoghurt milk. He takes the empty bento box and goes down the roof. He ditches the empty bento box to the trash bin and walked to his class.

Engine sound from motorcycle can be heard from the outside. It’s so loud that even people can hear it from the swimming pool area. Rei takes a look at the front yard and he saws a girl is surrounded by a lot of biker gang members. The girl probably in the same class as his, but maybe she’s older than he does.

She stands in the middle, while the gang members are circling around her with steel pipes or beer bottle with sharp edges on it. Don’t know why, but no one helped her… all of them is too busy watching.
“Hey, what is going on outside?” Rei asks Yamada, who is standing near the window

“Ah, it’s just that senior of ours, who is having trouble with other school students” Yamada shrugs, “It’s nothing to worry about”

“What do you mean? Aren’t they biker gang members?” Rei point the guys with bikes outside

“Yes, they are students from neighboring school” Sako nodded, “We don’t have anything against them, but let’s just pretend nothing happened”

“No way! How can you let the girl fight alone! I’ll help her!” Rei runs off to help

Rei rushes to the front and find himself meddle in something dangerous than ever. The biker gang members saw him and that’s it- he’s involved already. Three of them is starting to move away from the girl and approaches him.
“Man! Why did he do that?!” Iwami slaps his forehead, “They are known as Bloody Wheels, the most feared biker gang in Tokyo!”

“Let’s call the teachers to help him!” Ayase looks worried

Rei walks slowly. He never did have any intention to save the day, but he will never abandon people in need. He stretches his arms and neck while he walks to the scene. He also pulls off his shirt and open one button to ease his movement. He takes off his tie, fold it, and put it on his pocket.

The girl didn’t notice that he’s approaching, because she is too busy to pay attention to every movement of the biker gang members.
“That stupid guy” Souya bawled, “Don’t try to be a hero!”

“What should we do, Jessie? If we let him help Tomoyo-senpai, he’s going to be wounded” Yuuri bites her lips

“Don’t worry… I guess” Jessie looked confused as well

“Ah, what the hell… maybe I should help too?” Steve stretches his neck and gets ready

“Don’t bother! Tomoyo-senpai will be alright by herself” Rika stops him

“Maybe Steve is right- we shouldn’t involve ourselves, but we can't abandon Rei alone!” Tarou exhaled to accumulate his guts

The gang members started to attack. They swing their steel pipe around to do serious damage to the girl. Same goes for Rei; they also begin to attack him.
“Stop! Don’t attack him- I'm the one you want!” the girl said to them, “Run, you idiot!”

“Let’s get this done!” Rei smiled happily

Rei is a type of thrill seeker; he will do anything to push himself right to the edge. Just as Kojiro told him, he has an addiction to adrenaline. He feels very alive when he’s excited or trembling in fear.

BUAK!

Rei jumped off and kick one of them in their face. He continues with taking one of the steel pipes and swings it around to hit the other gang members.

BUAK!

He hits two of them, and that leaves him one more to go. It’s easy to hit them when they move around with bikes, because they have a lag between their normal human movement and their way to ride the bikes.

BUAK!

“Okay, that’s done” Rei lift his shoulders, “I’ve done my part! Get out of here, you scumbags!”

The girl managed to take down most of them. She is very relieved when she saw nothing happened to Rei.
“Huff” the girl sighed when she saw Rei is alright

But then, when the girl is distracted, one of them moved his pipe and tries to hit the girl.
“Watch out!”

Rei throws off his steel pipe to the guy and broke his nose. But that’s not the end; Rei jumps forward and kick his body to the side, making him fall with his bike.
“Don’t drop your guard just yet- the battle is still on!” Rei smirks

“Please, move away before you get hurt!” the girl warns him

“I like these kinds of things” Rei replied, “I love the rush of adrenaline!”

Rei runs off and gives a lariat to the other gang members. This is too easy for him.
“Phew! This is too easy!”

Rei exhaled and feels glad that this is over. He then tidies his clothes again and wears his tie.
“Why do you help me? It’s easier for me to beat them alone” the girl looks very irritated

“Sorry that I meddled in your fight, but I can't abandon you alone” Rei shrugs, “Besides, I was looking for a fight anyway… thanks to them, I feel very alive now! Why did they target you in the first place?”

“They are punks that disturbs the neighborhood around here, so I beat them up few days ago” the girl answered, “Their leader kick them out from the gang few days ago, and since then they’ve been running around, doing all sorts of trouble around here”

“Ah, well… let’s call a police immediately, so they won't come back here” Rei calls the police

Few minutes later, the police are arrived and take them to custody. One of the teacher explained about what happened and off they go to the big house.

Rei walked back to the class and sits in his chair. He still remembers the excitement in the fight. He laughs happily like a kid.
“You seem very happy about helping Tomoyo-senpai” Gonsuke smiled, “Please tell me what happened!”

“I'm not happy about helping her… I'm happy because I feel great after kicking their asses!” Rei replied as he punches the air

Everyone is back to their seats. Yue-sensei showed up not long after. She smiled when she saw Rei looks happy.
“You looked very happy, Minami-kun” Yue-sensei smiled, “Happy that you saved the day, huh?”

“I'm not saving any day. I feel happy because I kick some serious ass!” Rei punches the air again

“So it’s not about helping Tomoyo-san, huh?” Yue-sensei flips the pages, “I see”

“Well to be honest, that is the main reason, but I modified it slightly. I'm trying to find an excitement, so I guess that’s killing two birds with one stone… isn’t that right?”

“Yes it is” Yuki giggled, “He’s a funny kid, Hikaru”

“He sure is” Hikaru replied

After one hour of studying, the girl earlier came inside the class to introduce herself for student council president election program- looks like she is one of the candidates.
“Good afternoon, everybody” said the girl, “My name is Sagami Tomoyo, and I'm sure you know why I'm here”

“Most of the students in this school are a fan of hers, and she is really popular with every club activities, thanks to her talent in sports. She is also a sexy girl, not to mention she is very good cook and beautiful…” Souya explained, “So when she participates in the student council president election, it’s been decided that she will win the election easily”

“I see” Rei nodded, “Thanks for the heads-up…”

“And not only for her talent in sports, she also famous for her high sense of justice and her willingness to help others in trouble” Tarou added, “That is why she has so many bad reputation as well”

“Too meddle in the business she shouldn’t have” Rei leans his back to the wall

“Kind of reminds us to you-know-who” Clark stares Rei with weird look on his face

“And why do you stare at me like that?” Rei frowned

“She kind of reminds us of you today” Sarah sighed, “Please don’t do anything stupid like that again”

“I will do anything to push myself to the edge” Rei jumps around, “It’s fun to kick their asses”

Rei punches the air in front of Clark’s face a few times. Clark, who feels uneasy, seeing how Rei behaves, tried to stop him.
“Stop it, Rei” Clark said to him, “Stop acting like a little kid”

But that doesn’t stop Rei from getting all excited. If it is, Rei is getting more and more psyched up.
“Then you’re just no different than those guys” said a girl from behind him

When suddenly there is a person talking from behind, Rei unintentionally punches Clark’s face hard.

BUG!

“Ouch!” Clark holds his face in pain

“Eh?” Rei looks at his back, “Ah, sorry about that, Clark!”

It’s Tomoyo. She just came around for a visit, as well as associating with other students to improve her chance to win the election.
“Uh-oh… I smell trouble” Hikaru looks troubled, “Let’s get out of here”

Rei feels very annoyed by how Tomoyo labels him. He then switches on to the ten year old mode to argue with her.
“Man, what is the matter with you, lady?” Rei bawled, “It’s not like I'm a trouble maker around the neighborhood”

“Yes, but you will end up like them” Tomoyo replied, “I can't allow you to troubled anymore people”

“Geez, this old lady surely is getting it all wrong” Rei wondered, “Ah, well… that’s to be expected from an idealist girl anyway”

“Idealist you say, I won't accept what you are saying just now. Take it back!” Tomoyo looks mad, “And did you just call me old lady? Apologize to me at once!”

“No way…” Rei spins his head, “You just label me as a bad guy, so I will turn bad, just like you ask”

“Rei, let’s get out of here, before things get out of hand” Steve pulls his hand, “We’re off… please forgive him, Tomoyo-senpai!”

“Bye-bye, old lady” Rei sticks his tongue out

And so then it’s decided; Rei has another trouble to deal with- wild and violent student council president candidate named Tomoyo.

Back to the class, Rei sits down in his chair with annoyed look. It looks like the ten year old mode still active. Hikaru, Steve, Clark, Tarou, Souya, Gonsuke, Yamada, Iwami, and Keith cannot believe what he’s just done.
“Man, I can't believe you just argued with the most powerful candidate for the council in this school!” Keith slaps his forehead

“Nah, what do you want me to do?” Rei shrugs, “She labels me as a bad guy, so I guess I will turn bad anyway, just like she wanted”

“My face still feels sore” Clark holds his jaw

“Uh, sorry about that” Rei smirks

“I hope nothing bad will happen to you later” Yamada warned him

“What’s wrong about later? Is she going to grab me and beat me at the gym or something?”

“She will do anything to satisfy herself, including that” Souya whispered, “That is why, I told you not to meddle in her trouble!”

“Jesus Christ” Rei looked surprised

“We’ll hang around later, make sure nothing happens to you” Gonsuke pats his shoulder

After school and just as Souya said, Tomoyo already waiting for him at the school gate. Not sure what she’s going to do, but Rei is already prepared himself for the worst.
“I’ve been waiting for you, Minami” Tomoyo smiled when she saw him

“Wh, why do you wait for me?” Rei asked

“No reason, I just want to talk to you about something. Can you accompany me to the gym?” Tomoyo approaches him

“I can't… I have to meet someone and do my part time job later” Rei spins his head

“I suppose that can't be helped, then I just have to say what my intention is right here” Tomoyo hand him a piece of paper, “This is an official form from our student council. If I win the election, I will appoint you to help me with my work as a vice president of student council”

“I decline!” Rei pats the form from her hands, “I will not take any part on those stupid activities”

“Why do you say this is stupid?” Tomoyo picks the form and hand it to him once again

“I said; I won't take any part of those stupid activities! Find another suitable candidate, because no matter how many times you try, I won't get myself involved with that!”

“Minami Rei!” Tomoyo yelled, “I won't give up urging you to become my assistant!”

“Why do you insisting me to be your assistant anyway?!”

“You are a brave guy, and I need someone like you to help me with my job” Tomoyo replied

“I'm not brave! I'm just a guy who is always looking for trouble! Find someone else!”

Rei walked away and leave her alone. His friends follow him to ask him what happen just now.
“Is there something wrong, Rei? Why won't you accept the proposal? It’s fun to participate in that student council activities, you know?” Keith smirked

“I don’t like any serious activities like that. It’ll only waste my precious time to accumulate money” Rei replies, “See you guys later, then”

Rei gets inside his house and change his clothes. Something is indeed wrong with him today.
“What’s wrong with him? It’s unusual for him to act like that” Steve lifts his shoulders, “Maybe… just maybe he’s…”

“What Steve? Don’t tell me he likes Tomoyo!” Iwami said with surprised look on his face

“I can't say for sure…” Steve scratches his head, “But that’s a possibilities, you know?”

As I told you earlier, Rei is not the type of person who does a job behind a desk. He is a field worker, and surely all of you understand what it means to be a vice president of student council… heavy responsibility. That’s the main reason he leave the main household in Seattle, to break free from responsibility of his group’s future.
“Cih! It’s my second day at the school and I hate it already!” Rei grits his teeth, “I hate that girl!”

He remembers that it’s almost time to meet up with Takafumi from the realtor. C-West interior parts must be done by now.
“Oh yeah… I almost forgot. I better take my GT-R and then bring it to C-West workshop to install the new interior parts” Rei grinned

He changes his clothes with Nismo getup and he’s going out with his GT-R. Fifteen minutes later, he meets up with Takafumi from the realtor. He then agrees to buy the house on one condition; the house must be destroyed, so the land can be used.
The realtor agreed and decided to bulldoze the lot and clean the land from anything.
“Please give my regards to Mikami-san” Takafumi shook Rei’s hand

“Yes, of course” Rei nodded, “Well, until then…”

“By the way, Minami-kun… wasn’t it? Are you the one that is called Musashi?” Takafumi asks him

“Yes, that is me” Rei nods, “Is there something wrong?”

“I always wanted to meet up with fellow street racers, especially when they are young and talented” Takafumi smiled, “I drive a 2008 Z33 350Z Nismo edition, and I'm the leader of Nissan Scramble team”

“Oh, nice to meet you” Rei bows, “I'm Musashi, and I'm a member High School Street Racing”

“Maybe when things have cooled down a bit, we can have a match, huh? Tell your team that Nissan Scramble will challenge them in a moment” Takafumi points to his face

“We’re glad to take anybody on!” Rei smiled wickedly, “Just give me a ring, and we’ll meet up with you guys!”

Rei then gets inside his car and drive away to C-West workshop. It’s time to undergone another step in lightening the car out.

After roughly two hours of waiting, his car is done. The interior parts have been successfully replaced by carbon fiber materials.
“We will deliver all of the stock interior parts to your house” the mechanic said

“Thank you for your hard work” Rei bows, “Without C-West, my GT-R will always be a heavyweight lady”

“Nah, don’t mention it. Customer is the king, so as long as they have money, we will do whatever they want with their car” the manager replied

“Hahahaha” Rei laughs

He then gets back home straight away to do his part time job.

At six o’clock, Rei had finished working and gets back home. On the way, he receives a text message from Hikaru. It looks like all of them will gather at Kojiro’s restaurant tonight, not sure why.

Rei had no more time to fool around, so after he arrives back home, he immediately change his clothes and go to Kojiro’s place with his GT-R.
“Rei, so you accepted the challenge from the Nissan Scramble team” Hikaru said

“Yup, is there something wrong?” Rei asked

“It looks like they will race against us at Nikko Irohazaka” Tarou exhaled, “My turn to shine is finally come”

“What about the others? Are they specialist of mountain course?” Steve asks

“We have Yamada, Tarou, Gonsuke, Iwami, and Keith to handle the mountain course” Souya explained

“Keith with his BMW E92; Are you serious?” Rei sounds surprised

“He is good with mountain course… and it’s the reason why Steve changed to E46” Yamada adds

“What did you drive before E46?” Rei asks again

“Evo X” Steve answered, “I was foolish to think that Japanese cars is enough to beat him… but it’s not, but I realized too late”

“Then add me to the list” Rei pats his chest, “I will fight the leader myself”

“So you accepted the offer from the leader directly, huh? Then I guess that’s okay” Tarou agreed, “But you have to do better than me on the mountains, of course”

“Okay, let’s do a training tonight!” Rei challenged him

“No, you better do the training yourself” Tarou declined, “Even without training, I can beat you just fine”

“You forgot that I came from Nissan racing school?” Rei grins

“No I don’t… how could I forget? You are champion of circuit and Wangan, but not the mountain road” Tarou explained, “Train more, or you’ll regret that you challenged me without preparation”

That word hit Rei deeply. Tarou is right, and Rei cannot talk his way through. He then switches on his ten year old behavior mode to argue with Tarou.
“I will defeat you easily, Tarou” Rei frowned

“Ten year old behavior again” Tarou spins his head, “You can't provoke me with that kind of attitude”

“Cih, you’re no fun” Rei sticks his tongue out, “I better go to train now… see you later”

Rei gets out from the restaurant and drives off.

Tomorrow morning at school, Tomoyo came to the homeroom to talk again with Rei. She never did gives up urging Rei to join her at student council.
“Excuse me, sensei… did Minami-san attend the class?” Tomoyo asks

“Minami-kun” Yue-sensei said

No one replied or answered, so Yue-sensei tried to call the name once again.
“Minami Rei…” Yue-sensei called once again

Still no answer at all then she then looks at where Rei usually sits, only to see no one is there.
“Where’s Musashi?” Yue-sensei asks, “Anyone knows?”

“Where’s this guy?” Keith looks around for Rei

“Don’t tell me he’s really going to Nikko” Iwami slaps his forehead

“Musashi is training at Nikko? So you guys will race against Nissan Scramble team, huh?” Yue-sensei smiled, “Good luck to you guys, and as for Minami-kun, I will give him an extra homework to be done”

“So he’s not here… too bad, then” Tomoyo seems disappointed

“No matter how hard he train himself, it’s not going to be enough to beat me” Tarou grins, “There is something that Rei lacks on… that is mountain course”

Keith didn’t agree, though. He thinks Rei, who has no skill on the mountain course, can still beat Tarou easily on the mountain course, due to his car’s best handling and practicality.
“Tarou, don’t be such an arrogant fool” Keith shrugs, “Most of his car’s body part; interior and exterior- is made with carbon fiber. He’s not going to be an easy opponent to deal with”

“So what do you say, huh? I'm just no good on mountain course?” Tarou seems annoyed

“That is not the case” he replies as he spins his head, “I'm just saying, maybe your skill on mountain course is the best among us, but you can't beat him easily either. Beneath his ten year old attitude, he has something… something that even me, you, or every racer we meet didn’t have”

“Don’t tell me that something is great connection” Tarou said

“No… maybe that is one of them, but there is something that even I can't explain about him” Keith sighed, “He is a natural born street racer, and I guess that’s the best way to describe him for now”

“Minami-san is a street racer?” Tomoyo asks

“Yes he is. Don’t you know about Musashi at all?” Yue-sensei smiled as she stares at Tomoyo

“You mean that Musashi with silver GT-R? They say he is the next candidate for Sky King” Tomoyo answered

Rei did goes to Nikko to train himself. He needs to feel what it’s like to drive on the mountains. The reflex, the timing of throttle, the footwork, the technique- everything, has to be studied and mastered. As Tarou said to him yesterday, mountain course is very different than the street course. He has a hard time to maneuver his car or move it the way he wanted. Downhill or uphill, it doesn’t matter when you don’t understand anything on the mountain.

After he finished training, he parked his car at the bottom and gets some sleep.
“I wonder what everyone is doing right now. They must be confused about me training here… or maybe not” Rei shrugs, “But ah, what the hell, let’s not think about it. When the sun falls down, I’ll train some more”

Back to school, homeroom 2A has a new English teacher. She comes from Russia and spots a blond long hair, white smooth skin, beautiful face, and sexy body. Every student is attracted to this new sexy teacher. Unlike Yue-sensei who is engaged, she wears no ring on her finger.
“Good afternoon, everybody. I'm the new English teacher, and my name is Bernadette Melissa Ranovich” as she introduces herself, “Nice to meet you, and please bear with me for these next few years”

“So she is the new teacher” Keith thought, “Not bad for a Russian woman. I though all of them is tall and scary like Maria Sharapova”

“There are a lot of foreign student as well” Melissa-sensei said, “I'm glad I'm not the only foreigners here… you, with the brown hair. What’s your name?”

“It’s Keith Valentine” Keith replied

“My, what an adorable name” Melissa-sensei smiled, “Alright, I’ll call out your names one by one, and please stand up to introduce yourselves”

Whether he realizes it or not, Keith is attracted by this new English teacher. It looks like things are going just fine for him.

“You like her, huh? Good for you” Steve whispered from his back

“How do you know of it?” Keith ask back

“First meet is always a charming one; I guess that applies to you too” Steve shrugs, “Good luck with the approach”

Back to Rei, he’s; now cruises the course like a normal people. No speeding, only following the road wherever or however it goes. He needs to figure out how to handle his car on each corner, and memorize the course if he can.
“Okay, so it’s like this… and like this…” Rei thought, “I hate mountain course already… even though my GT-R is as light as a feather now, I don’t think I can match up to Tarou just yet”

Rei goes back home with boredom on his face. It looks like he had enough with mountain course. He can't conquer it and he had enough of it. It is night already and he feels hungry.
He goes to Kojiro’s restaurant to eat something- he hasn’t eaten anything since morning.
“Damn… what should I do?” Rei frowned

“Is there something wrong, kiddo?’ the manager ask him

“It’s about drifting… is it real?” Rei asks back, “I don’t think someone can actually do that kind of stunt”

“Kojiro might help you with something about drifting. Why don’t you eat up your food, and go to his place immediately to ask him everything about drifting”

“Kojiro is a GT-R driver, just like I do. How is he supposed to drift with ATESSA?” Rei lift his shoulders

“Don’t you know that Hikaru had a GT-R once? He’s trained by two members of Need For Speed” the manager explained, “He also endure the hardships of difficult training from them”

“Yes I know about it” Rei eats up his food, “But what I don’t understand is, how did they able to drift like that?”

“Just as my uncle said; there are a lot of things to learn” Kojiro sits down on the chair around him, “I’ll show you what I mean with drifting in my GT-R”

“Sure thing- let me finish eating this first” Rei eats up all the food and drinks the sweet green tea, “I'm ready, let’s go!”

“What the hell… you just ate all that food in no time” Kojiro freaked out, “How did you do that?”

“Don’t sweat the details” Rei shrugs

Both of them go with their GT-R back to Nikko. They go up and get themselves ready to slide down the mountain.
“Are you sure we’re going to do this now? I mean, it is very-very dark” Rei seems unsure

“Don’t worry. Lock your car and get in my car, we’re going down with my car” Kojiro said

Rei does what he’s told. He cuts off the engine and locks it. Then he gets inside Kojiro’s car and straps himself up with Nismo four point harnesses.

“Ready? Here we go” Kojiro nods

Rei yawned all day long in the school. It looks like he hasn’t taken any decent sleep for the past few days.
“Huaaaah…” Rei yawned

Everybody who saw him yawns does the same. Today’s English class seems to take a year long. Only Keith is paying attention with energetic attitude… well, that’s to be expected, though.

Rei puts his head on the desk and close his eyes gently. He cannot wait any longer to get some sleep.
“Hey, don’t sleep in her class” Keith whispered from behind him

“…I'm so damn sleepy” Rei whispered back, “I need a sleep, so I'm going to sleep”

Without he noticing, the school is already over, and everybody is leaving the class empty. Rei needs to attend his part time work now. Beside that, he’s also been busy these past few days.

Yes, he’s been busy practicing to drive in the mountain course, but not on the real course that is.

After his part time work is done, he always hangs out at the arcade gaming centre. He plays Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3, driving his millennium jade metallic V-spec II Nur, un-shaded, 820 HP, Nismo body kit, and Work’s TE37 bronze rims, going up and down at Hakone. Don’t know why he did that, though.

Between his races against a lot of people, he remembers what Kojiro said last night.
“Your driving was simply too rough. You need to smoothen your driving and use all your techniques efficiently” Kojiro said, “Why don’t you play Wangan Midnight for awhile, and just relax when you play”

After few times of beating people who challenges him, he gets back home to get something to eat.
“Damn… I'm so hungry” Rei bawled as he holds his grumbling stomach, “I wish Toshi is here to cook something”

On the way, he meets Tomoyo, who is buying meat, green onions, bean curds, rice noodles, shitake mushrooms, sukiyaki sauce, chili powder, and two big bottles of coca cola.
“Damn” Rei shivered, “Bad timing to meet the persistent candidate here”

When he turns the other way around, Tomoyo already saw him and called him. Rei walks faster to avoid her, but Tomoyo easily catch up with him.
“Found you” Tomoyo said lightly

“…I'm tired, and I'm hungry” Rei sighed, “Just leave me alone”

“I and my brother will be having a sukiyaki today! Want to join us?” Tomoyo ignored what just he said

“No thank you” Rei declined

“I insisted! Come with me” Tomoyo grabs his hand and drag him to her house

Rei tries to pull away, but he can't do it. Either he lost his energy because of hunger, or Tomoyo is stronger than him. Rei unwillingly followed her to her house.

Her house was surprisingly clean and tidy. Even though it’s smaller than his house, Rei feels comfortable on that house.
“Where’s your brother?” Rei asks

“He’ll be home soon” Tomoyo washes the ingredients, “Can you help me with slicing the meat? Thank you”

“I'm a guest, and I should help” Rei nods

He takes off his Nismo jacket and helps her slicing the meat. Rei hears her humming cheerfully while she washes all the vegetables.
“Tomoyo-san, what’s your age this year?” Rei asked

There’s a sound of knife stabbing something, because that question hits her hard.
She became depressed suddenly and gloomy aura begins to shrouding her. Purple cloud around her body is vaguely seen.
“Ah, if that question offends you, please forget it” Rei waves his hands in panic

“Twenty” she answered softly, “I have an unknown disease when I was in the first year, so I have to suspend my study for a whole year”

“I'm turning nineteen this year! It’s good to be young!” Rei replies calmly, “Erh, sorry… Must be hard on you”

“No it isn’t” Tomoyo smiled, “I have my brother and my parents to thank for that”

“Forgive me for asking too much, but I don’t see your parents anywhere” Rei looks around, “Where are they?”

Tomoyo stopped for few seconds and continues washing the vegetables. She sounds furious and angry for some reason.
“They followed their selfish behavior and leave us alone” Tomoyo replied madly

“…I regret my question already”

“Don’t be” Tomoyo sighed, “Oh, well… let’s get the thing ready, then… what the hell?”

Rei cuts the meat in half and that’s all he does. Tomoyo looked surprised and puzzled at the same time.
“Why do you slice it like that? You have to slice it thinly… like this” Tomoyo slice all the meat, “Okay, let’s boil them with the sukiyaki sauce”

They wait about fifteen minutes, and no one showed up. Tomoyo give her brother a call, but he said he can't go back home just yet, because his boss will held a party for their promotion.
“Shoot, my brother can't eat all of these” Tomoyo said, “Why don’t you and I eat it?”

“No objections!” Rei smirks and lift his hands

When they eat, Tomoyo asks a lot of questions about his street racing career.
“So, what is like to speed up in the highway?” Tomoyo ask

“It feels great! I forget most of my problems when I drive on Wangan” Rei answered

“I see” Tomoyo smiled to him, “I wish I can do that as well”

Rei didn’t understand. She looks very strong on the outside, but very fragile on the inside. Whether he realizes it or not, he starts to feels pity on this girl.
“I live alone here… my brother live with his co-worker just outside of Tokyo” Tomoyo sips her cold cola, “It’s a rare chance to see him visit me, but I'm glad he’s doing well”

“…Is that all?”

“Huh? What do you mean?” Tomoyo asked confusedly

“I bet you still have a lot of trouble on your shoulders” Rei stares at her seriously

Tomoyo smiled softly and stares him back to his eyes.
“You can see through me, huh? I endure a lot of hardships and I'm used to it already” she smiled, “I won't live in this house by next week, because I can't pay the rent anymore to the landlord, and I haven’t paid the electricity bill for a month”

Rei feels weird on his chest. It feels hollow and pain at the same time. He needs to do something, something good for her and for his chest immediately. He smiled bitterly and he knows what to do. Forget about training at Nikko for now, he has someone that depends on him.
“Well, it was fun eating with you, but I have to leave now” Rei smiled, “See you tomorrow at school”

“Yes, see you tomorrow, then” Tomoyo replies

There is something else that he can do for the moment; the student council vice-president.
“You know what- I’ll think about your offer as student council vice-president” Rei said to her, “I’ll help you in anyway I can”

Tomoyo smiled happily and bows to him. Rei with satisfied look on his face left her alone on her house. He needs to do something fast, and now.

He gets back to his house after he takes all of his money from his old account, and call Takafumi. He probably is able to solve this out right away.
“Takafumi-san, I have a favor to ask of you… it’s about other house I intended to buy” Rei said while he smiled, “I want to help a friend of mine with her problems”

RPM 30: Sky is the Limit

“Okay, so that’s settled” Rei hangs up the phone, “Time to do what I usually do”

Rei heats up his engine and gets ready to go to Nikko for more training. This time he’s sure to do it correctly, smoothly, and fast.
“Okay, time to go” Rei drives off to Nikko

At the parking lot at the top of Nikko, he closes his eyes and exhaled to accumulate his thoughts. He needs to follow exactly as Kojiro showed him yesterday. Calm, flowing, and correct entry angle is the key to pass the corners rightly.
“Okay, time to go” Rei opens his eyes slowly

He throttles his car and launches forward like crazy. First up is a left hander with 180 degree long corners. He kicks the clutch and causes the back spinning like crazy, lift his foot off from the throttle, and balance the car once again. He made it out fine.
“Whoo Let’s does that again!” he shouts

Next up is another simple left hander, followed by 180 degree right hander and 180 degree left hander. He made it out alright, but he lacks of one thing afterwards; instant acceleration after exiting the corners.
“I have to ask Kojiro to do some fine tuning for acceleration” he thought, “I need to get myself used to this kind of thing more often”

After he arrived at the base of the mountain and satisfied with the way he handles the car on corners, Rei exited and gets back to Tokyo immediately.

In the next day after the school is over, he pays a visit to Kojiro’s garage, bringing his GT-R with him. His part time work is suspended due to auditing of internal control on the post office is being done right now.

He saw an old man who had gray hair that was slicked back and smokes a cigar outside the garage, while looking around for something… or someone, who knows?

Rei cuts off the engine and steps out from the car to talk with the guy. He approaches him and suddenly he feels something… something that strangely familiar; high speeds. Don’t know why, but Rei feels excited and threatened at the same time around this guy. He has amazing aura of speed, shrouding his body like a mist. His heart beats fast because of the pressure and he smiled wickedly. Adrenaline is overflowing within his blood.

He adds one more mode to handle this kind of situation. He calls it the R mode. It stands for racer’s behavior mode.
“Hey, old man…” Rei calls the man

“It’s rude for you to call me an old man” the man turn his back and face him directly, “The name is Fushida Kyo… what’s yours, kid?”

He exhaled with smoke coming out from his mouth. By the looks of it, he had a bad addiction to cigar. Beside his cigar, Rei didn’t think he is a bad guy.

Rei waves his hand to fan the smoke away from his face. He then replied to what the man asks him.
“The name Minami Rei… I saw you at TV few months ago. It covers a GT-R owner’s meet up event on Suzuka” Rei nods, “I believe you are one of the most skilled mechanics for Nissan cars”

“I’ll correct it for you- I specializes myself for GT-Rs” the man drops his cigar and trample it with his foot

“Rei, you know my mentor?” as Kojiro showed up with confused look on his face

Rei looked at Kojiro and saw a black GT-R sitting behind him. It has wolf kanji on the side of it. He’s indeed Fushida Kyo- the tuner of Okami’s legendary GT-R.
“So that is the famous Okami’s GT-R” Rei walked to the car and pays attention to every details of it, “Who’s the driver now?”

“I wouldn’t expect less from Musashi” Kyo grins and takes out another cigar from his pocket, “The driver is an American, and he’s an employee in my friend’s place”

“An American with a Japanese soul… I’d like to meet this guy once” Rei knocks the hood of the black GT-R, “The thing is… how fast this car can go?”

“You’ll never know” Kojiro shrugs, “By the way, what brings you here, Rei?”

“Ah, yes… I want to ask you to improve my settings. I need better acceleration for mountain course” Rei turns off his R mode

“So you’re trying to conquer the mountain roads now, huh? I will give you a special tuning for a change” Kyo smiled as he lights up the cigar

“Sensei, I’ll be the one who tuned this car!” Kojiro yells, “Please don’t interfere with it”

“That’s fine, Kojiro” Rei nodded as he grins, “I want to know what kind of tuning you can give to my R”

“First thing first… I want you to show me how well you can drive” Kyo approaches his car, “Kojiro, let’s test this guy out… do the usual”

“Let’s race on the Belt Line” Rei takes off his Nismo jacket and ignites the engine, “Get in, old man”

“Humph, youngsters these days have no respect for older people” Kyo bawled as he gets into Rei’s GT-R

Kojiro bring out his white V-spec II and drive beside Rei’s GT-R. He opens the window and talked to his sensei to warn him of something.
“Sensei, before I forget… I must warn you to buckle up properly. This guy’s driving is a maniac” Kojiro sighed, “My heart almost popped off from my chest”

“I hope you don’t have any heart diseases” Rei smiled, “Let’s go!”

Both of them get into the Shutoku via Tatsumi junction, all the way circling the belt line once. After one lap is done, they continue to Wangan line, ending the battle with high speed performance.
“Alright, step on it” Kyo grins

“…”

Rei narrows his eye and shifts down to increase his pace. Kojiro is leading in front and both of them is entering Tokyo port tunnel.

Rei overtakes the other car like crazy. He shows a cold expression on his face and is indeed scary when driving.
“…You sure are a different person when you gets behind the wheel” Kyo stares at the window

“I am” Rei replied flatly

“This thing has a great handling feel… what did you do with the chassis?” Kyo asked

“For starters, after I bought this car, I bring it to Omori factory for chassis refreshment and tuning. It also underwent extensive modifications for the engine parts. Most of them are equipped with Tomei and Nismo parts”

“So, carbon fiber reinforcements on upper front strut towers, hood reinforcement area, transmission tunnel, floor pan, trunk, and spot welded portions of the chassis around the door frames have taken place, huh?” Kyo said, “That’s insanely neat… Kojiro also managed to get you a special Nismo carbon reinforced eight point roll cage bars”

“Yes, I don’t know where he gets it, but I like rare items like these” Rei continued

“Why use C-West instead of Nismo?” Kyo asks again

“Nismo has an amazing tidiness feel for the body kit, and that is not what I'm looking for” Rei answered, “I need something menacing so I choose C-West instead. Most of this car’s body part is made from carbon to shave the weight”

“Let me guess… Fenders, front bumper, trunk, GT-Wing, taillights housing, rear bumper, side skirts, door shells, door trims, interior panels, and dashboard… I see” Kyo nodded

Kojiro’s GT-R has a R33 sequential gearbox with modifications on it. Instead of having five speeds, he has six speeds gearbox. When you use a sequential gearbox, you have a shorter shift time. It shows when it has no sudden jolt because you release the clutch pedal slower.
“Kojiro is improving” Kyo nodded several times, “To compensate for his bad left leg he installs a sequential gearbox with modifications”

“What good is it to use a sequential gearbox? You understand what it takes to drive manual cars, don’t you? Fast clutch action. Too bad Kojiro Nissan GT-R didn’t have a manual gearbox… it’ll be fun to drive it like this”

“I don’t have any objection on what you think about sequential gearbox” Kyo replied, “But don’t you think you should move to circuit? It’s a waste of your talents”

“What fun do I get from running around in circles?” Rei shrugs, “Nothing… we’re at Ohi u-turn”

Rei shifts down, followed by heel-and-toe. He passes the traffic in front of him and catches up with Kojiro again. After turning at Ohi u-turn, both of them reach Ginza and Kiba exit. But that is not where they going. On to the Wangan line!

Passing cars here and there, brake, shifts down, shifts up. Even though Rei can catch up with Kojiro easily, he purposely waits to get to Wangan line. He knows his car’s power more than anyone else, so it’s better to take Kojiro down at Wangan line.
“This is it!” Rei yelled, “Haneda airport tunnel!”

He increased his pace like he’s being possessed. Kyo is very frightened when he heard Rei yelled suddenly like that.
“Be careful, kid!” Kyo yelled

He passes the cars in front of him, along with Kojiro. After the tunnel they reached Haneda airport and then… it’s the heart of highway street racing; the Wangan line.
“Damn! That car is fast!” Kojiro said, “I'm not the mechanic who tuned it, so I can't tell how much it has”

“See ya, Kojiro” Rei grins as he stares at his rearview mirror, “This is my playground; Wangan line”

His taillights are gone as he continues passing the other cars easily. He waits for Kojiro near Daikoku junction and gets back to his garage.
“As I promised, I will give you a setting for your GT-R. Let me have a look” Kyo gets his laptop and begins to type it

30 minutes later, he is done. The setting is improved for better acceleration on lower gears. Kyo told him to add more HKS gadgets for better monitoring, so Kojiro adds HKS A/F Knock Amp, and HKS FCD.

What about top speed? He didn’t need it anymore, since he already has HKS SLD equipped in his car.
“Alright, try it out now and tell me what you think” Kyo points at the car

“Yeah, yeah, sure” Rei gets into his car

Rei drives his car once again and feels satisfied already. Not only has the lower gear acceleration improved, his top speed also increases. He can click 350 in no time!
“And what did I owe you for this tuning” Rei frowned, “I feel something that I don’t like will come later. Just let me pay you, and let’s call it even”

“Nah, I like it when you owe me” Kyo chuckled, “I’ll ask something in return for it in the near future. See you around, kid. Take care, Kojiro”

And Kyo drives off with Okami and leave a trail of dust behind it. Rei knows it well, that guy will ask something in return. But nevertheless, Rei is satisfied with how he sets up his GT-R.

Tomorrow morning at school, Rei couldn’t feel happier. He feels like he can take on anyone in Nikko, and that includes Tarou. It’s in a middle of Yue-sensei’s boring chemical class, and Hikaru puts a magazine between the pages of chemical text book.

It’s a JDM Option magazine, which shows a silver GT-R climbing down Nikko at a moderate speed, with half of the driver’s face concealed by the car’s window. It was Rei and his silver GT-R.
“Hikaru, what magazine you are reading?” Souya whispered

Hikaru flipped the magazine to show the front cover.
“Musashi is seen at Nikko for a test drive on the mountains” Steve reads the writings of the cover, “He really outdid it this time, huh Hikaru?”

“He sure is” Hikaru grins while he stares at Rei

“So, is there any improvement?” Tarou asked

Rei nods and smiled to him as he takes the note.
“I guess that’s good” Tarou replied rudely, “Let us have a test in Hakone tonight, even though the results is already settled”

That’s what Rei wanted; a test drive with Tarou who is always looks down on his ability. He then spins his head in wonder, turns on his R mode, and smiled back to him.
“Don’t regret your decision, Tarou” Rei smiled wickedly, “I'm not trying to be arrogant here, but I guess I just have to beat you to show you how skilled I am”

“That’s what I want to hear” Tarou said, “Soarer is the king of drift. It will trample your GT-R, and send it straight to ravine”

“Have you forgotten? Sky is the limit of what Soarer can do” Rei grins, “You can fly as high as you wanted, only to be chocked on the outer space… Sky is something that lets Soarer to fly high”

“No it isn’t” Tarou tries to talk his way through

“Yes it is” Rei replies

“Okay, kids… that’s it” Yue-sensei said, “Just stands on the hallway and holds two buckets, full of water, both of you”

“Yes, ma’am” Rei stands up and walked to outside of the class, followed by Tarou

Both of them stands up at the hallway, but wouldn’t stop arguing who’s the best. Rei is a guy with changeable attitudes, and Tarou is a guy with high pride of his favorite car.
“I will always say, Sky is the limit of everything” Rei starts the conversation

“Ah, here we go again” Tarou spins his head, “You don’t get it do you? Skyline is only good for straights! What team in D1 uses Skyline, huh?”

“Well, I don’t know, because I'm not a fan of D1 Grand Prix, you moron” Rei replied, “You don’t have to be a fan of D1 to be able to drift perfectly”

“Man, you are Japanese, but you don’t like drift? What kind of a person are you?” Tarou bawled

“I’m Japanese, that’s what” Rei smirked

That carefree attitude is what Tarou hate from Rei the most. He never did give a damn about other people’s business, and so he never poked his nose into someone else’s affair and trouble. A true friend will always be around to help and gives an advice, but this… this kid is different. Tarou feels to befriend a ten year old kid with great skills as a street racer.

I guess that is called envy or something like that. He can't accept the fact there is someone with good connection and better skills than he does.
“I guess that is your limit for arguing with me” Rei laughs, “I win!”

“No you’re not! I'm not done yet!” Tarou replied madly

“Would you two cut it out?!” Yue-sensei opens the door and yelled to them, “I had enough with both of you; go and run around the front yard until my class is over!”

“Uh-oh… run like f**k!” Rei runs away

Well, fifteen minutes left until Yue-sensei’s class is over, so the boys are lucky. Both of them stroll at the front yard and jog around like an idiot. Rei is wearing his earphone and listens to more L’Arc~En~Ciel song in his Walkman Phone, so that ought to drove away the boredom from his mind.
“This is all because of you” Tarou slaps his forehead, “I will get you for this later… so be damn ready”

“Let’s just do what we usually do- settles it with a race” Rei nodded, “Tonight at Hakone”

“Fine” Tarou nod as well

When Rei strolls around the front yard, Tomoyo saw him from 2nd floor and wondering what was he doing. She comes down to have a talk with her vice-president candidate.
“Minami-san, what are you doing?” Tomoyo asked

“Just running around as you can see. It’s as a punishment from being noisy in the class. What’s up, Sagami-senpai?” Rei asked back

“I was just walking at the hallway and saw you running here” Tomoyo answered, “Why are you getting punished? Arguing at the class again?”

“Yes I am” Rei nods, “I was arguing with Tarou over there, and the next thing I know is Yue-sensei yelled at both of us”

The bell ring out and it’s time for lunch break.
“Lunch break!” Rei yelled and runs toward the cafeteria, “See you later, senpai!”

“There he goes” Tarou exhaled, “Why do you pick him to be your assistant, senpai?”

“He’s one of the good guys in school, and he’s amazingly brave” Tomoyo answered, “It takes more than guts to fight biker’s gang. He has unknown charisma with his carefree attitude”

“Charisma is it? I wonder if that is truly matters in the streets” Tarou bawled

It’s quite a feat to be able to turn into a celebrity in one night, but Rei showed it very well in his showdown against Moriyama, which is also his first race in Japan. Tarou has yet to realize that he already meets the eagle on the streets of Japan. As you know in the food chain, eagle is at the top place beside other carnivorous animals.
“I don’t know much about street racing, but if what everybody says is true about him, you’d best be prepared, Yuichi-san” Tomoyo sighed

Like every anime and high school story, cafeteria is hell if you ask me. It’s filled with hungry people, who have nothing in their mind but to eat hurriedly. In this case, Rei is one of them. It’ll be easier if he has a girlfriend that will make him bento everyday, like Hikaru and the others for example.

If you late, then you have to fight your way through to the counter to buy something- that is the main rule for survival in the cafeteria. This place is a war zone. Most of the food stock will be out after ten minutes of waiting, so it’ll be wise to go sooner than sorry.
“Alright, I managed to get two curry bread, one yakisoba and two bottles of lemon tea!” Rei jumps happily

Steve, Clark, Iwami, Souya, and Gonsuke like to buy drinks or snacks, and so they see what Rei is doing right now.
“Man, he’s so childish” Steve spins his head in wonder

“But it’s funny, seeing how he handles the GT-R” Souya continues, “His behavior is unpredictable, but understandable”

“It’s like two sides of the same coin- he can be either one of them, both of them, or even none of them” Iwami added

“Here you go guys, cola for Steve, sweet boxed tea for Souya, and fried potatoes for Gonsuke” Clark hands over the things to them, “Let’s go back to class”

After getting what he wanted, Rei runs straight to the roof to eat alone. Most of the time, he feels very lonely eating all by himself and the others is, well, he’s envies his friends who already have a girlfriend.
“Cih, I’ll never have a girlfriend if my attitude keeps on like this” Rei slurps his lemon tea, “But I guess that is alright, considering I concealed my true name and identity here”

“Hi, what are you doing, eating all by yourself here?”

When Rei turned his head, it was Tomoyo. She brings a piece of papers in her hand… looks like she intends to talk about the student council election program.
“Is that the applying form? I’ll fill it out later” Rei said to her as he eats his yakisoba

“Alright, thank you for joining me on the program” Tomoyo bows to him, “And it turns out that you also helped me by talking to your boss, Mikami Rei”

Rei nodded and smiled. He feels very happy to help someone in need. That should ease her mind off from two problems.
“Anytime” Rei smirked, “Glad to help, senpai”

“It’s a wonder how you ended up being Mikami Rei’s assistant” Tomoyo sounds suspicious of him

“Well, he has a strange hobby of recruiting employees” Rei grins, “He picks me to be his assistant because we happens to have the same name”

“I see” Tomoyo sits beside him, “Is it enough for you just to eat three breads?”

“I’ll manage” Rei replied, “Unlike Hikaru and the others who already has a girlfriend, I don’t have any time to make a bento for myself”

“I’ll accompany you eat here” Tomoyo stands up and leave him alone to get her bento box, “Wait here”

Few minutes later, Tomoyo is back. She brings two box of bento to be eaten. Rei still feels hungry after all that running around the school yard.

KRRRRRRR!

His stomach’s letting out a strange sound. Tomoyo looks surprised and amused at the same time, while Rei feels so embarrassed, that his face turns all red.
“Still hungry, huh? Well, you can eat one of these” Tomoyo gives him a box of bento, “I cook these myself, and I bet they will taste great”

“I'm sorry” he replied as he takes the bento box, “I won't make anymore trouble next time to prevent these things from happening”

“Nah, it’s alright” Tomoyo eats her bento, “There is something I want to ask you. Is Mikami Rei a wonderful person? Did he treat you well?”

That question confuses Rei instantly. He didn’t understand how to answer it. Because his Minami Rei’s identity and Mikami Rei’s identities are being questioned. Who will answer the question? Minami Rei or Mikami Rei?
“Well, I’ll tell you this but, uh, don’t tell anybody about him” Rei whispers, “Actually, he is…”

“Yes?” Tomoyo listens carefully and moves her head closer

“He’s actually a stingy guy” Rei frowned, “For every work that I helped with, he only gives me my GT-R, a place to stay and the rest is, well, I have to do it all by myself”

“That’s a surprising fact” Tomoyo said, “Eat up, don’t be shy”

“Ye, yes” Rei eats the bento, “It’s delicious”

The bell has ringed once again, and it’s time to go back to the class. Rei hands over the empty bento box to Tomoyo and thank her for the food.
“Thanks for the food, senpai. It’s very delicious” Rei nods, “I’d better be going now”

“Yes, you’re welcome” Tomoyo smiled, “I’d be glad to cook everyday for you, Rei. If you want, why don’t you join me for a dinner at my house tonight? I’ll be happy if you can come”

That’s what Rei has been waiting for- an offer to eat delicious food at her place.
“Aw, yeah! I’ll come right after I prepared my GT-R” Rei laughs, “Thanks for the offer, senpai!”

“No problem… see you tonight, then” Tomoyo said as she stands up

Rei walks happily to the class and jumps around occasionally. Everyone suspects there’s something good happens to him, so they ask him directly rather than speculating with no certainty.
“Yes?” Gonsuke asked, “Something happened, huh?”

“Yup, Sagami-senpai just offered me for a dinner at her house” Rei licks his lips, “She’s a great cook”

“It’s a good chance to eat something nice, huh? Way to go” Iwami said

“Yes, yes… her meal was insanely delicious” Rei added, “After I ate at her place, I will defeat Tarou with all I have”

“Sure- be my guest” Tarou smirked, “If you can, that is…”

“I met Fushida Kyo yesterday, and I managed to get him to set up my GT-R” Rei smiled wickedly, “I don’t think you stand a chance”

“Fushida Kyo huh I should’ve guessed” Hikaru exhaled

“You know him?” Rei turns his head to Hikaru

“Sure do” Hikaru replied, “He’s the best mechanic for GT-Rs, just like Kojiro. He also Kojiro’s mentor and the tuner for Okami’s black GT-R”

“Okami’s GT-R huh I wonder how fast that car can run” Keith wondered

“Surely as fast as mine” Rei pats his chest proudly, “Sky is the limit”

“Sky, huh? Well yeah, if you say so” Tarou said arrogantly

“Look who’s talking” Rei replied, “Let’s just…”

“Hey, hey… stop it. Teammates aren’t meant to argue with one another here” Yamada stops them from arguing

“Yeah, man. Stop it, both of you. You act like little kids” Steve pats Rei and Tarou’s heads

“We should just prove it with our skill and car’s power” Tarou points Rei

“Sure” Rei nodded, “I’ll crush you with everything I have”

“These guys just don’t get it” Souya slaps his forehead

As Rei promised, after he’s done preparing his GT-R, he brings it to Tomoyo’s house. It’s six o’clock and Rei’s hungry… It’s kind of depressing to see him going to other people’s house only to eat.
“Welcome” Tomoyo said as she opens the door, “Get in and help me wash the onions. I’ll make fettuccini with creamy mushroom tonight”

“Yosha, let’s do it” Rei takes off his Nismo Urban jacket

Half an hour later, both of them is eating at the dining room while talking to each other.
“So what is it like to drive fast and furious?” Tomoyo sips her cold tea

“It feels great and amazing” Rei exhaled with satisfied look on his face, “So… fresh and so… satisfying”

“That car of yours… what do you call it? Nissan Skyline GT-R is it? What do that stands for?” Tomoyo ask again

“GT-R stands for Gran Turismo Racer… it’s an Italian language, meaning Grand Touring Racer” Rei scratches his head as he smirks

“I read once that GT-R is equipped with a lot of gadgets” Tomoyo eats her mushroom, “Is that true?”

“Sure is” Rei pats his chest proudly, “GT-R is well known as one of the top sports car of Japan. I even add three more gizmos to liven it up”

“Okay, okay… I completely get that. You sure are proud with your GT-R, huh?” Tomoyo smiled, “Oh, yeah Rei… can you bring me to watch your race? I always wanted to see one”

“Um… sure” Rei nodded, “Let’s finish the food and get going, then”

Rei help her wash the dish and wears his jacket again. Tomoyo does the same; she brings her jacket and wears her shoes.
“I'm ready” Tomoyo smiled to him, “Let’s go”

“Okay… let’s go” Rei replied

Both of them get into the car and drives to Hakone.

On the highway, Tomoyo’s amazed by what Nissan puts into the car. LCD screen filled with turbo boost pressure, oil pressure, injector, oil temperature, water temperature, exhaust temperature, intake temperature- everything shows the car’s condition perfectly. Under the standard head unit, there is three more items on it. She didn’t know what it was but she saw EVC, A/F Knock Amp., and Turbo Timer letters. All of them has one same letters in common; HKS.
“So high tech” Tomoyo thought, “Everything is perfectly placed to let the driver monitors the car’s condition”

“Cool, huh? I like these the best, rather than G-force meter, or boost and oil temperature combo meter”

“Why did you pick GT-R? Why don’t you choose Silvia, or Fairlady Z?” Tomoyo asked him

“I'm a Playstation generation, and this car is made with respects to that- gizmos and a lot of high tech features. Besides, if something goes wrong, I can rely on ATESSA to do the rest for me” Rei answered, “Alright; let’s show off a bit of this car’s performance”

Rei shifts down and accelerate more. He overtakes the other cars crazily and rashly.
“No! Don’t speed up too much!” Tomoyo shouted

“Don’t worry”

Tomoyo then saw it- the precious expression of seriousness in his eyes. Nobody ever saw him in this kind of state, except the person who already rides the car with him; Kojiro and Kyo.
“Your eyes… it’s different” Tomoyo mumbled

“I can hear you perfectly” Rei replied suddenly, “My senses are sharper when I drive in high speed”

“Why don’t you just race in the highway, Minami-san? I can see that this car born for top speed only” Tomoyo shrugs

“Highway street racing is not all that, you know. There is always something highway can't offer me” Rei replied flatly, “And that is thrill on the mountain passes… besides, I have the chance to show off my skills on the passes”

The others are already waiting and this time most of the spectators will act as observers. It’s between the two of one same team members, no money involved, just trying to show who is more skilled, and whose car is the best.
“He’s here” Hikaru said as he looks at the corner

The GT-R emerges with its bright headlights illuminating the darkness. Rei and Tomoyo stepped out from the car and approach the others.
“Sagami-san? Why are you here?” Yuki asks her

“I just want to see what the race is like” Tomoyo lift her shoulders, “Why are you girls here?”

“Same reason” Rika said, “I want to cheered up for Tarou”

“Well, let’s begin the race” Steve nodded

“I will act as the linesman. Thanks to Bernard, most of Need For Speed guys will act as observers at every corner” said Keith, “Get into your car, men!”

“Yes, Bernard considers me and Rei to be his apprentice” Hikaru chuckled, “Too bad I don’t ride GT-Rs anymore, though”

“I don’t think you can stand up to this car either. This is the last number of Nur to be produced… it has number 750 on it” Rei points the engine hood, “This car is the king of GT-Rs!”

“King of GT-Rs, huh? I don’t think so” Yuki said from behind him

“Beat it, kid… you’re watching too much anime here” Seno adds

“I will prove it to all of you” Rei nods, “Three engineering is inside this car… each of them hones the other’s potential and shapes it into a perfect machine”

“I would like to race with you someday” Hikaru lift his shoulders, “If you managed to beat Tarou, that is”

“Sky is the limit… I will prove it to all of you that I'm your Skyline here”

Rei and Tarou get into their own car. Both of them strap up and gets ready for the race. Tarou stares at Rei with angry look, while Rei didn’t give a damn. Instead, he throttled seven times; making his GT-R’s roared through the mountains.

Rei is ready to give it all. His eyes changed and he shows cold look on his face. He then stares back at Tarou with that look to pierce his mental barriers and threatens him.
“I'm going to say this once, Tarou” Rei said seriously, “If you feel endangered, stop your car and just admit that I'm better than you. I don’t want to see your car falls down to the ravine, forcing Rika to lose a boyfriend”

“You think I'm prepared myself only to back down? Stop your trick and just shut the hell up” Tarou yelled

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you” Rei grins

He puts Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 music CD while listen it with loud volume. He’s listening to In Your Dream… yes, again. That is his favorite music to beat ghost player to get dress up parts.

Not sure what it means, but I guess he’s trying to warn Tarou that he is more skilled than everybody think he is. He closes his window, turns off the air conditioner, and switches it to outside air.
“Let’s do this” Rei nodded to Keith

Rei shifted to first gear and hold the clutch while keeping his right foot on the accelerator.
“Alright… let’s begin” Keith lift his hands, “Three… two… one… go!”

Keith lowers his hand and off they go. Tarou launches better, since he has lower horsepower.
Rei on the other hand, prefers to watch him closely from the back.

First corner is a long right hander, continued by 180 degrees left, and 180 degrees right. Tarou slide his car perfectly, while Rei manages to pass the corner using normal racing lines. Even though he only plays it normal, he understands the basic of racing and his car’s performance allows him to catch up easily to Tarou’s car.
“Such power” Tarou thought, “Well, as expected from your GT-R, Rei…”

Tarou knows it well that Rei’s GT-R has lighter weight, thanks to carbon fiber body. Theoretically, Rei’s GT-R is an ultimate drifting machine as well, but Tarou doesn’t give up easily- he will fight for what he believed in until the very end.

Next up is three consecutive corners, starting with 180 degrees left, simple right hander, and another 180 degrees left. After that, it’s just a serial of simple right hander.

The right hander enables you to run ahead of your opponent… if you are around them, or you have bigger horsepower, that is. Even though it’s simple and enables Rei to overtake Tarou easily using his GT-R’s power, Rei didn’t do so.
“Are you mocking me? It’s a simple right hander with your 4WD, and you just stick to my back? What are you thinking?” Tarou bawled

Tarou then takes out his hand and waves forward, to tell Rei that he should move on ahead.
“…”

Rei shifts down and accelerate forward. He left Tarou in his back and begins to attack the corners quickly.
“Alright then if you want it that way. Don’t regret your decision… although it’s much safer to let me go on ahead. I don’t want you to wreck your precious car” Rei thought

Next up it’s a 90 degrees right hander. This will be the most memorable moments for Tarou, as he watched how Rei attacks the corner.
“Alright, here I go!” Rei lift his foot from the throttle, steers it hard to the right and counter-steer to the right.

He enters the corner with a clear 4 wheel drift. Tarou couldn’t believe his eyes, seeing what Rei had done in front of his eyes.
“What the hell!” Tarou yelled, “How did he do that with the ATESSA?!”

After he’s trough the corner, it’s time to attack another corner. After simple left hander, he will face two consecutive hairpins, starting with right hairpin, and then left hairpin.
“I want to know how you will attack the two hairpins!” Tarou accelerated faster to catch up with Rei

Then he saw another perfect drift. First thing Rei did was lifting his foot off the accelerator, steers right, kick the clutch, and end it with counter-steering to the left- he pass the corner with an amazing tail slide.

What Rei did to fool ATESSA is perfect. Since he can't drift too much with ATESSA, he needs to adjust himself with the car’s computer behavior. Too much slide will turn ATESSA on- ending the drift or no slide at all- causing him to brakes hard cause under-steering. He chose between them by making the car slightly move sideways, while he maintains the drift angle, with no more than 45 degrees of angle.

All of them are possible. It depends on how much you know your car’s behavior and get used to it. Rei shows it to Tarou perfectly.
“So that’s the limit… of what I can do” Tarou sighed

Rei then continues with the left hairpin, leaving Tarou behind him eating his trail of dust. When Rei no longer sees Tarou in his rearview mirror, he shifts up and cruises around leisurely.

Back to the starting line, everyone was very amazed when they hear what NFS team members said about Rei’s way of drifting.
“It’s like a work of art with tire skids as the paint” said one of them

“Is that guy for real? Is he related to Tsuchiya Keichi or something?” said another member

“I wish I can see it clearly with my own eyes” Keith sips his grape milk, “I can't wait to drift with this kid. Until then, I and my M3 will have to wait a bit longer to race this amazing kid”

“What do you think about this Steve?” Hikaru turns his head to him

“To defeat Tarou like that… I think we should keep our heads in place, because you don’t know what this kid capable of. He’s a damn Pandora box!” Steve looked surprised

“Kyo-san really did it this time” Yuki exhaled, “I should’ve ask Kojiro to keep him off from touching newbie’s GT-R”

“I hope Tarou is alright” Rika bites her lip

“He is, don’t worry Rika-chan” Jessie pats her shoulder, “Me and the others will beat him to a pulp”

“Just try and lose” Steve argued, “If this kid is really something, I can't let you defeat him before I do”

“Now, now… don’t start here” Yamada warns them

“Everyday is a war for this couple” Sako giggles

“Alright, that’s it for now. Tomoyo-senpai, get in to my car. I’ll escort you to the base” Jessie said to her

“Yes, thank you” Tomoyo nodded

At the base of the mountain, Rei parked his car and grabs a can of cold cola from the vending machine. He sips the cola and sits on the top of his car’s bonnet, while he stares at the black starry skies above him.
“Sky is the limit… huh?” Rei talk to himself, “Can I really be the Skyline?”

“That is what you said” said Sky, “I don’t disagree though”

“A bird can fly to reach the skies. The higher they fly the harder for them to breathe” Rei continues, “That is why I like to say Sky is the Limit”

“I see” Sky replied, “Here he comes”

Rei turns his head and found Tarou’s parking his car. He then approaches Rei to talk more. Rei turns on his R mode and prepares himself for arguing with Tarou.
“You’ve won” Tarou said

“So what if I am?” Rei drinks his cola and shrugs

“I don’t really like you, because you tend to act like a ten year old kid, but I guess you are great racer after all” Tarou replied

“Who cares you like me or not- it doesn’t matter” Rei lift his shoulders, “The others are here”

Hikaru and the others showed up not long after. All of them gets off from their car and congratulates Rei for his victory.
“Congrats, Rei” Clark starts, “You proved yourself worthy in this mountain road”

“No big” Rei replied modestly, “Tarou is a great racer as well, and I guess he can improve more”

“So sweet of you to praise your opponents” Sarah added

“Well, it’s late so I’ll better take Sagami-senpai home now” Rei throws off his empty cola can to the recycle bin, “Get in, senpai”

“Good night everyone, I see you all on Monday” Tomoyo said

After Rei drove off, Hikaru and the others talks more about this amazing kid.
“Alright, so what do you think Tarou?” Souya asked, “Still not convinced he’s good?”

“He is good… and I guess he’s right” Tarou seems satisfied, “Sky is the limit”

“He’s not the sky… he’s just what you call as a turbulence that will shake your flight for awhile” Yuuri added

“Don’t worry, Tarou” Iwami said

“You’ll improve” Ayase pats his shoulder

“Thanks, guys” Tarou cheered up

“I think Rei has his own sky as well” Gonsuke rubs his chin

“What makes you said that?” Marie asked

“Well, he is skilled, but he is still young and needs to learn more” Jessie explained

“Let’s see what he can do against my GTR” Steve smirks, “I can't wait to smoke him out”

“I guess that’s even” Hikaru shrugs

“I’ll take care of him” Keith pats his chest

“Just take care of your Melissa-sensei first, and then move on to something else” Steve pushes him

“Hey!” Keith sounds irritated

RPM 31: For the New Generation

Rei is cruising at moderate speed. He feels satisfied after his win against Tarou.
“Sky is the limit, huh?” Tomoyo asked

“Yup, you go fly beyond that, you’ll die easily” Rei answered, “The others tell you about it, huh?”

“You could say that… You have great talent for street racing, Minami-san” Tomoyo replies

Few minutes later they arrived and he dropped Tomoyo off at her house.
“Alright, thank you for tonight Minami-san” Tomoyo nodded

“You’re welcome. This is the least I can do after you cooked delicious meal for me” Rei lift his shoulders, “Well, I’ll drop by tomorrow morning to give you the application form”

“Yes, please” Tomoyo replied, “See you tomorrow, then. Goodnight, Minami-san”

“Yes, good night senpai. I’ll see you tomorrow” Rei nodded

Instead of going back to get some rest, Rei drove off to Wangan and have a run around the street.

“Damn… even though Kyo managed to gives it better settings, I still have a problem reaching top speed easily” Rei bawled

He then remembers what Kyo said to him yesterday, regarding his GT-R body kit.
“Why use C-West instead of Nismo?” Kyo asks him

“Nismo has an amazing tidiness feel for the body kit, and that is not what I'm looking for” Rei answered, “I need something menacing so I choose C-West instead. Most of this car’s body part is made from carbon to shave off the weight”

Rei smirks when he remembers it. Kyo didn’t just ask around about C-West and Nismo comparison. He knows it well, since GT-Wing can increase the drag on his car.
“Huh…” he grins, “As expected from Okami’s tuner. He didn’t just ask around, he knows it but he won't tell me directly… oh, time to refill the gas”

He then drives to Shell gas station to fill up his car with high octane gas.
“How can I help you, sir?” the station attendee asks him

“V-Power Racing, full tank please” Rei answered, “Here is the money”

The other station attendee is wiping his windshield clean as the other attendee is filling the car. Rei gets off from his car and buys a bottle of cold Coca-Cola Zero and drinks it while he stares at his car.
“Here is the change money, sir” the stand attendee hands him some money

“Keep it” Rei shrugs, “Thanks for your hard work”

(The body kit looks fine, but I’m not satisfied with it… a lot of people use it, and I need something better to make my car distinctive from the rest. It’s time to contact Nismo and ask them to fabricate some carbon fiber R-Tune front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, rear under spoiler set, and stock upper spoiler)

He then gets back to his car and cruise once again at Wangan.

At Wangan line, many cars that run with great speeds pass him and all of them head towards Daikoku parking area. With curiosity, Rei follows them to see what it’s all about.

At the parking area, a lot of people line up their car and talk to each other. When they saw Rei is coming with his GT-R, everyone cheered for him and ask him to park his car beside them. There’s silver Nismo Z-Tune, and Rei decides to park beside it. After he cuts off the engine and gets out from his car, a woman approaches him and talked rude to him suddenly.
“So you are the famous Musashi that defeats Speedster team leader” she said, “Care for a race boy?”

“What car do you drive?” Rei asks back

She moves aside from his line of view, to reveal the car that’s behind her. Rei saw a red candy apple NSX… what a cheesy color.
“My name is Uehara Natsumi and you know me as Apple of RJ7” she introduced herself, “What about 10,000 for the race?”

Rei raised his eyebrows and chuckled. He then turns on his ten year old mode to compete with her rude attitude.
“Alright, granny” Rei nodded, “Let’s race”

Natsumi didn’t look very pleased. Women hate it when someone (especially men) calls them old. She narrowed her eyes and stares at him. Rei showed his favorite look- wicked smile like a demon.
“I’m going to crush you like a bug, Musashi” Natsumi said to him angrily

“Let me add some more details about you” Rei adds, “Your make up is too thick… like it?”

“That’s it- on your car!” Natsumi points to his face

“Alright let’s do this!” Rei jumps off from his bonnet and gets inside his car

Everybody cheered for them loudly. It’s a hasty battle but both of them are a famous racer. They need to know who the best is.

Rei straps in and switch the air conditioner to outside air. Natsumi revs up her engine hard to intimidate Rei. He is surprised when he heard the engine sound because he feels very excited. He then does the usual- revs his engine hard seven times.
“We race at C1! Let’s do this!” Natsumi drives ahead

“…”

At C1, the traffic level is low, since its twelve o’clock then all of a sudden it’s raining hard and it gave them poor visibility level. The ground turns slippery since water completely wets them.
“We begin the race now!” Natsumi said to him

“…”

She launches her car forward to make some gap between them but Rei easily catches up with her. Natsumi had one great trick up in her sleeve though. She drives fast and furious for a girl. Combine it with the lean body of NSX, she can outmaneuver Rei easily.
“Come on, come on! Is that all you got?!” Natsumi yells

“…Okay” Rei grins, “Let’s see more of your stupid action”

Rei shifted up and lined up his car beside the NSX, but Natsumi won't allow him to pass no matter what. She sways her car sideways to prevent Rei from moving forward. Rei can't risk damaging his car, so he brakes hard and he’s back behind her again.
“Man… did all of RJ7 members are like this?” Rei smirks, “No wonder everyone wants to take them out”

Hamazakibashi Branching is up next, and Rei intend to use it to his advantage, since he had 4WD.
“Here we go!”

He increases his pace and enters the sharp corner with left foot braking… He managed to get in the front. Natsumi didn’t anticipate his attack and lost her place in the front.
“You are one good racer, boy…” Natsumi smirks, “No one can actually pass me at the branch. But I won't let you go that easily”

Natsumi shifted down and floors her throttle. She managed to shock Rei with a direct hit on his rear bumper.

BRAK! BRAK!

“I have expected that to happen” Rei exhaled, “If you want to play like that, then fine… luckily my butt is made of from carbon fiber… so at least it will hold on just a bit longer”

Natsumi keeps on spanking Rei’s butt and Rei is patiently waiting until he gets to that place. Place that will turn the tide of the race quickly… two consecutive bridge piers at Ginza Area.
“Alright!” Rei shouts, “This is it! Play time is over”

Rei shifted down and floors his throttle, and Natsumi does the same. But she didn’t know what kind of intention Rei had in his mind. Rei goes straight away to the bridge pier!

Natsumi has to give enough space to ram his butt again, so when Natsumi did that, Rei slowed down a bit to let her catch up. And when Natsumi starts to floor it again to spank his butt, Rei moves aside to let her crash at the bridge pier.
“Adios, granny” Rei smirks as he stares at his rearview mirror

“Shit!” Natsumi braked hard to avoid the collision, “I concentrated on his ass too much and forget about these bridge piers!”

She steers her car hard to the left, making the car skid and hopefully stop… but it doesn’t. She had 140 KM/H clocked, and the slippery highway road. Her rear quarter part hits the bridge pier and damaged her engine.

Rei stops his car and saw what happen to her. The rear glass window is shattered, and so did with the driver’s side window. Natsumi moves slowly to get out from her car. Instead of helping her, he checks the condition on his carbon fiber rear bumper… well it looks fine, aside from many scratches on it.
“Damn… that granny totally ruins the paint job on this bumper”

He then approaches Natsumi to take his winning money.
“I win… where is my money?” Rei asked her

“Here… take it, you bastard” Natsumi groaned and threw off some money to him

“Pleasure doing business” Rei walked back to his car

The police will be here soon, so Rei gets back to his car and drove out from Shutoku. Two of the RJ7 member is down, and both of them had a big crash.

Tomorrow morning, after he fills out the application form Rei takes his Nismo bicycle to Tomoyo’s house. He stares at his GT-R to find it dirty and muddy.
“After I deliver this application form, I’ll wash you clean, GT-R… just wait a minute, okay?”

He cycles fast to get to Tomoyo’s house faster. Tomoyo is cooking while she hums happily waiting for Rei to deliver the application form.
“Sagami-senpai… I'm here to give you the application form”

“In a minute” Tomoyo replied

Tomoyo immediately go out front to take the application form from Rei.
“Thanks” Tomoyo smiled, “Want to join me for breakfast? I made a club sandwich with mangoes…”

“Nah, I have to wash my car, so I have to decline…” Rei scratches his head

“Okay, hold on…” Tomoyo gets back in and grabs a box, “This is for you… take it”

Rei takes the box and see what’s inside it. It’s the club sandwich with mangoes, fresh lettuce, and chicken. It looks very delicious and the bread is freshly baked.
“Oh, wow” Rei laughs, “Thank you, senpai… I better go back now. Let’s do our best to win the election”

“Yes, let us do our best” Tomoyo nodded, “See you on Monday, Minami-san”

Rei nodded and cycle his way back to his house. After he ate Tomoyo’s sandwich and drink some guava juice, he washes his GT-R to sparkle. He also cleans the interior with vacuum cleaner on the seats and the floor mats. Thirty minutes later, he’s done- all wet and sweaty. He takes a towel to wipe himself dry.
“Alright, GT-R… you’re clean as new… hm?”

Suddenly a red E46 and a white AP1 cruises at low speed and stopped at the front of his house… it looks like Steve and Hikaru are paying him a visit. What’s happening?
“You wash your car up?” Steve asked, “So the rumor is true after all”

“Where have you been last night? Battle at Shutoku?” Hikaru ask him as well

“Yeah… is there something wrong?”

“Not really… but you are really making your reputation big out there” Steve shrugs, “We’d better be prepared with the next thing to come… since the rest of RJ7 members will not let the last night fiasco goes unpunished”

“We came here to tell you to watch your back and be careful… who knows what will happen if we’re not careful?” Hikaru adds, “We’ll warn the others as well”

“Alright… thanks for the heads up, guys” Rei nodded

“Don’t mention it… we’re one step closer to the greatness” Steve smirks

After both of them left, Rei gets inside and picks up his phone to call Omori Factory manager.
“Hi…” Rei said to him, “Listen, I need you to fabricate another thing for me… this time please make me carbon fiber R-Tune front bumper, side skirts, rear under spoiler, rear bumper with V-spec II Nur emblem, trunk cover with engravings and GT-R emblem and upper spoiler… I really need it by Sunday, so please make it as soon as you can. Paint it like my car body color, alright?”

“Yes, we will do what we can… we’ll contact you when the part is available” the manager replied

“Oh yeah… can you customize the oil cooler kit for my GT-R?” he asks again

“I’ll have my mechanics to have a look out” the manager added, “Have a nice day, sir”

After that’s done, he takes a bath to clean his body. He needs to go work part time and buys some vegetables and meat to the groceries.

Twelve o’clock he’s done working. Now it’s time to buy some vegetables and meat at the groceries until…
“What the hell! It’s closed?!” Rei slaps his forehead, “How can I cook my lunch and dinner now?! I can't go to Sagami-senpai house all the time!”

It’s no use to stand there a little longer, so he goes to Kojiro’s restaurant to eat.
At the restaurant, when he ate his meal, Keith talked to him about the race last night.
“So how’s the battle exactly?” Keith asked

“Well… for starters she is a cheater” Rei drinks his cold grape juice, “And secondly she is an old lady”

“Cheater, you mean that she rams you?” Keith asks again

“Yes…” Rei answered as he eats the pickled turnips, “I intend to change my body kit with Nismo now”

“Carbon fiber again?” Keith grins

“Yup… I will sell the old carbon fiber body kit so I can get extra money to pays the new body kit” Rei explained, “Well, I’m stuffed… thanks for the meal”

“Hey wait! I’m not finished talking yet” Keith stopped him, “I want to race you”

“…I thought Souya forbids us to race amongst fellow team members” Rei answered, “Besides, I don’t want to race for awhile, since my rear bumper is scratched”

“Then I’ll wait until your body kit is replaced” Keith nods, “How does that sound?”

“Fine” Rei nodded as well, “See you on Monday night, then”

Rei gets back to his house since it’s already one P.M. and he feels sleepy.
On the way to his house, he met Tomoyo. It looks like she is looking for him all day long.
“Ah, there you are…” Tomoyo said to him, “I’ve been looking everywhere for you”

“What is it, senpai? I'm very sleepy after working all day long and I'm very tired” he groaned

“Well sorry if I'm worried about you” she replied madly, “I just want to give you some pizza that I made… here you go. Eat it up for dinner”

“Thank you, senpai… but why bother?” Rei asks

“I know that the grocery store is closed down, so I figure that you might get hungry” Tomoyo replied calmly, “I gave you what I came for, so I’d better go home now”

“Senpai, wait… why don’t I come to your house tonight? We’ll eat the pizza together… what do you say?” Rei asks

“Sure, why not… then I’ll take back my pizza and wait at my house tonight… see you then” she smiled happily

“Ah… but I can eat that for snacks… oh, whatever” Rei shrugs

Rei gets back to his car and pops the hood. He does regular checks on the car at every weekend, to make sure everything is in perfect condition.
“Oil is good, so does the air filter… tire pressure is fine, the wheel nuts are perfectly tight” Rei hums, “The tank is full, wiper tank is also full, the battery is in good condition, radiator is fine, no damage on the intercooler and the piping… time to clean the engine bay”

He gets a damp cloth and starts wiping the dirty surface on the car. Ten minutes of work, his car is clean… inside and out.
“Okay… even though it’s tiring, it’s fun and satisfying” Rei exhaled as he drinks his cold orange juice

Sure is. Every car lover and car owner tends to clean up their car on their own. There is some unknown feeling of satisfaction when you clean your car on your own. Sure it’s tiring, but when you have great cleaning equipment like he has, you won't go to car detail shop anymore to tidy up your car.
“It is satisfying I tell you… if you have most of the cleaning equipment in you own home” Rei smirks

I already explain it to them…
“Oh, okay then… sorry” Rei nodded

He then takes a bath once again, since its six o’clock already. He needs to go to Tomoyo’s house to join her for dinner.
“Senpai” Rei called from outside

“Hold up…” Tomoyo said from the kitchen, “Come on in, Minami-san…”

“Here, this is for you” Rei smirks

Rei brings her a bag of ice chocolate coffee mix. Surely it’ll go well with pizzas.
“Oh, wow… let’s make it and eat up” Tomoyo smiled

“Sure, sure…”

One hour later, they are done eating. They are talking about the election work program.
“What kind of plan do you have, senpai? Going to publicize our school to be the best school?” Rei sips his cold coffee

“Yes, you are absolutely right… the girls also plays major role in our work program” Tomoyo said

“The girls? You mean the other’s girlfriend? What did they tell you?” Rei seems curious for some reason

“That we should publicize not only our way of study, but also our clean and green environment to other school” she explained, “Do I have your support here?”

“Sure, sure…” Rei nodded, “You have my word and full support in your every program, senpai”

“If you don’t mind… can I call you by your first name? It sounds odd and complicated for me to call you Minami and Minami all the time…” Tomoyo raised her eyebrows

Rei didn’t give any replies. He turns silence for a few minutes… it looks like he’s mind if there is someone who calls him by his first name, without him knowing them too well.
“You mind, huh… then I guess that’s okay” she frowned

“Sure, sure… you can call me Rei like the rest of my friends” Rei smiled, “I won't mind if you call me Rei, you know?”

He smiled happily to her. Not only he feels that he knows more about Tomoyo and her program after the election, he also feels that he’s closer to her than before.
“Alright, then…” Tomoyo smiled

“Okay… I’ll help you wash the dishes” Rei stands up

Tomorrow morning, Rei is up and cycles his way around town. He likes to cycles around town with his bicycle on Sundays. He listens to Malice Mizer song with his mobile phone to keep him entertained while he looks around town…
“The body kit should be done by now…” Rei giggled, “I can't wait”

Suddenly his phone rang. When he sees it, it’s the manager from Nismo Omori Factory… talk about great timing.
“Yeah? Is it finished?” Rei asks

“Yes, please get your car ready” the manager said, “I need to ask you one thing though… is it alright if we didn’t paint the lower spoiler of the front bumper?”

“Oh, it’s alright…” Rei spins his head, “I want it to be just like Z-Tune proto, so I guess that is okay. How much is it?”

“This one is on the Factory” the manager said, “We will give it to you for free. We also have Z-Tune part we’d like you to use”

“And I guess there must be a reason behind it” Rei said flatly, “But it’s a bad luck to decline good things… anyways, can you tell me the reason?”

“A lot of people ask us to tune their GT-R to resemble your performance. We have to recruit extra mechanic to fulfill the orders” the manager replied, “You sure making yourself famous out there”

“What? They are going to street racing as well? I will get bad reputation from Nismo” Rei grins, “But I guess that’s okay… right? I’ll be there right away”

Rei gets back to his house, take a bath after tiring work out, and bring his car to Omori immediately.
“Alright, here it is” Rei nodded

“Men, bring our special guest to lift no. 1… we’ll install the Nismo R-Tune carbon body kit, Nismo leather bucket seats, custom oil cooler duct, dry carbon flap on the rear spoiler, carbon reinforced driveshaft, and rear differential and transmission cooler” said the manager

“Bucket seats? My GT-R has good bucket seats!” Rei raised his eyebrows

“Please take it… we feel very grateful for your career with GT-R” the manager bows to him

“A, aaah… please raise your head” Rei feels very bad about it, “It’s nothing… thank you very much for the gift”

One hour of waiting, his car is done. It’s looking good and it’s perfect. Even though it’s less aggressive than C-West, but if what Kyo says is true, then Rei will achieve top speed faster.
“We will send your C-West body kit and your seats to your house” the manager nodded

“Yes, please… thank you for the work that all of you done” Rei bows to the mechanics and the manager, “Well, then… it’s time for me to go. Take care, everyone!”

He ignites his engine and drive back to his house.

On the way to his house, Rei’s mobile phone rang up once again. This time, it’s Hikaru who calls… what is it this time?
“What’s up, Hikaru?” Rei picked up his phone

“Tonight, at Daikoku parking lot… I’ll battle the leader of Wild Beast Team” Hikaru said

“Didn’t you guys won against them?” Rei asks

“It was Satoshi who is racing against him, so I guess it is appropriate to re-battle him again tonight. Besides, he is the one who’s challenging me for a race” Hikaru answered

If the readers remember it correctly, it was Satoshi who is batting against Kamata of the Wild Beast Team, and now Satoshi isn’t a member of High School Street Racers anymore.
“Alright, I’ll be there tonight” Rei nods, “I just finished changing my body kit, so if there are more challenges to come, I’m ready to race anytime”

It was midnight at Daikoku parking lot, and High School Street Racers are gathering around at one side of the parking area. Many other teams are here as well to watch the scene; White Ghost versus Wild Beast. Since Wild Beast Team is the host, they showed up early to arrange everything to perfection.
“Alright, I'm ready” Hikaru nodded

Kamata showed up in his white Type-R... no, that is not Type-R, what is it? It has strange red color, with triangular shapes of front spoiler.
“Whew… that is not Civic Type-R; that is Mugen Civic RR” Rei smirks, “This old dude sure is cautious”

“Rei, you get ready too. You’ll race against that IS-F” Tarou said

“What? I thought it’s between Hikaru and that Wild guy” Rei looks surprised

“You’ll race against one of them as well” Steve said, “Get in to your car!”

“I guess that is alright…” Rei shrugs, “I don’t have any intention to lose, anyway”

“Wait! If he lose, then what about our battle?!” Keith cuts in

“Like I will…” Rei frowned, “I won't lose against that Lexus, no matter how much cylinder it has”

“Hey, don’t you take the Ice lightly, or you’ll regret it” said Takeba as he revs his engine loud

“Alright, the first one to get back here- wins the race. Kamata-san and White Ghost will run on New Belt Line, while Musashi and The Ice will run on Wangan. Each of the courses will have to go around the course once… good luck!” said Yoshida

Hikaru and Kamata begin to head for New Belt Line, while Rei and Takeba will have to be standby at Daikoku.
“Good luck, Hikaru” Souya waves his hand

Hikaru nods and follows Kamata. They will begin their race when they reached Ohi U-turn.

When they see Ohi U-turn, Kamata launches his car forward and leave Hikaru behind. The flow of traffic is unpredictable, since it’s crowded like hell.
“Alright Ohi U-turn” Kamata yells, “Let’s go!”

“Cih” Hikaru bawled, “I will have to stick close to that wild guy”

Hikaru shifts down and follow Kamata closely. He remembers what he did to Satoshi few months ago, so he has to keep his concentration in one place.
“Huh, you think this car is a toy? It can whoop your S2K in no time” Kamata shifts up

Both of them will reach Ginza area shortly. Yes, the same Ginza area where Rei wins his battle against Apple on Friday night.
“I have to be careful on the bridge pier area” Kamata grins, “Keep up in this traffic, Ghost!”

“…”

Hikaru keeps on sticking at Kamata’s back. His S2000 is indeed the fastest S2K in Japan- it can keep up with Kamata’s monstrous Mugen RR.

Kamata’s way of driving is flawless. Hikaru can’t find any mistakes on his driving, since he is one of the senior members of NFS team.
“Cih, all I can do is to keep up with him and pass him at Wangan. Let’s just hope Rei can beat The Ice” Hikaru thought, “But I have to do my best to pass him!”

Hikaru begins to attack at Tokyo Port Tunnel. It’s a long tunnel that will go on to Wangan.
“Huh, you think you can pass me?!” Kamata shouted, “Eat this!”

“Uh!” Hikaru hits his brake when he saw Kamata is swaying his car to hit him at the side

“Gahahahaha” Kamata laughs happily

“I should’ve guessed. That old man is swaying his car like crazy!” Hikaru bawled

That’s right; Kamata begins his impassable barrier technique. Hikaru had a hard time to find a hole to pass him.
“I have to be patient…” Hikaru stares at his opponent, “He will make a mistake, and I will pass him when it happens… I know what to do”

Hikaru waits and tries to pass Kamata slowly. What is he doing? It looks like he does it on purpose.
“What will you do now, huh?” Kamata laughs when he saw his rearview mirror

Let’s ask Hikaru what he does. Hikaru, why do you try to pass him slowly? Don’t you have to wait for an opportunity to pass him?
“Hm? I will have to let him sway like that all the time” Hikaru explained

Why is that? Don’t you want to pass him?

“I will pass him when his tires worn out” Hikaru adds, “Just wait”

So Hikaru is waiting patiently to let Kamata worn his tires out. That’s why he tries to pass him slowly to make Kamata sways his car.
“Yes, you got it, so let me concentrate!” Hikaru yells

Okay… let’s watch the others at Daikoku for awhile.
“So what do you think?” asks Iwami

“Are you worried about Hikaru?” Yamada ask back

“That’s not it… Hikaru is a great racer” Iwami spins his head, “What I mean is him”

He points at Rei, who is looking at GT-R’s engine. He didn’t show any expression of anxiousness or nervous at all. He plays it cool and easy.
“Don’t you feel nervous? Your opponent is a popular and fast car” Gonsuke said

“Why would I be nervous? Is that so called IS-F fast?” Rei asks

“Sure is… it has eight automated manual gears” Tarou explained, “And on top of that, it has V8, and the Ice already fitted it with turbo!”

“Really? Gah, who cares” Rei frowned, “All that matters in Wangan is top speed and how fast you can achieve that”

“How much your top speed is, kid?” Steve asks

“330 KM/H”

Steve and the others who heard it looks very frightened. What kind of parts did he use to achieve that big numbers of top speed?
“Are you boasting? Because I can't imagine your car can achieve that number with that many air dams on your body” Takeba smirks

“I’m not boasting. You will see it later when we race” Rei replied flatly as he cleans his engine bay

“So that is why you change your body kit?” Keith asks, “I would never guess it”

“To achieve top speed faster, yes” Rei nodded, “Kyo said that I should change it, so I did”

“This is getting more interesting and interesting, Rei” Steve smirks, “I wonder how well my GT-R can par with your GT-R”

“Why don’t we have a battle to see it?” Rei asks, “After I battled Keith, of course”

Back to Hikaru race. Kamata begins to feel sluggish when he waves his car. They almost reached Daikoku, so it’s over for him.
“So that is what you doing all those time, huh? Making me car sways here and there will wore out my tire faster” Kamata grins, “You already wins it, White Ghost… there is no need for the second race”

Hikaru pass him and floors his throttle to leave Kamata behind him. He then gets out to Daikoku parking lot. Kamata follows not long after, and stops his car at the area.
“You win White Ghost” Kamata nods, “There is no need for the second race, because you guys already showed me what kind of street racing generations you guys are…”

“But, Kamata-san… we can still turn the tide with my battle” Takeba said in protest

“Forget it, Takeba… old guys like me knows it when I have to hand over the key to the new generations… good luck on your path to greatness, kids!” Kamata laughs, “I will help you in anyway I can to whack RJ7 members”

“No need for that… we can manage to do it on our own. We just need your support to banish them” Tarou said

“You guys will battle Nissan Scramble team next month, huh? Good luck to all of you, then” said Maeda, “Guys, we’re moving out!”

Those words that Kamata just said to Takeba made them think hard. New generation sure has a lot of responsible in achieving more than what the old guys have done, but also realizing their dreams for the future. Someday, that will apply also for Hikaru and the others.
“Kamata-san!” Hikaru yells

All of them turn their head to Hikaru and Hikaru bows to them suddenly.
“Thank you very much for your guidance! We will never fail to your expectations!” Hikaru bows

Seeing that, Rei understands what he does. He bows also to thank their seniors in street racing. But for a guy with ten year old attitude like him, he has little respect for the older guys, so it’ll be less respectful.
“Thank you, old man… we will spank their sorry asses, just like you wanted!” Rei said as he bows

“Thank you very much!” Steve and the others bows as well

“Gahahahaha” Kamata laughs, “Thank you, kids... see you around”

“Good luck to be the best” Tsuyoshi adds

It’s been a week since they win against the Wild Beast Team, and they are preparing themselves to battle the next team- the Nissan Scramble Team at Nikko Irohazaka. They are eating at the class with their girlfriend. Tomoyo is joining them so she made an extra bento for Rei.
“So, what’s next for us?” Iwami asks

“We will battle the next team- the Nissan Scramble Team” Tarou said, “I will battle them and show my improved skills”

“What about you, Rei? Will you battle them as well?” Keith asks

“It depends on their leader’s view” Rei answered as he picks his tempura and dips it into the mayonnaise, “If he wants to challenge me, then I will race him. Their leader knows me, so probably he will race me”

“You already know the treacherous winding path of Iroha, right? That place is so damn curvy” Keith said, “Six hairpins consecutively near the bottom! And those hairpins also closely tight to each other”

“What are guys talking about?” said a woman from behind them

When all of them turn their backs, it was Melissa-sensei. She brings her bento with her, and looks like she doesn’t have any companions to talk to.
“Se, sensei?! What are you doing here?” Keith looks surprised

“Nah, I don’t have anyone to talk to at the teacher’s office… all of those old teacher are boring” she said, “Yue-san isn’t there either”

“If you’re looking for Yue-sensei, she is at the cafeteria” replied Yuki

“Oh, that’s okay. Since I'm already here, I will eat with all of you” Melissa-sensei sits beside Keith

When she sat beside Keith, his face turns red… it looks like he’s blushing. Rei didn’t understand why, but when he looks at Keith’s eye that stares at her sometimes, he completely understands what happened to his fellow teammate.
“Oh, I see” Rei nodded, “I get it, Keith”

Keith and Melissa-sensei doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But after Keith saw Rei’s smirking face, he completely lost it. He’s panicking like crazy.
“Ah, I, ah… I… don’t get it wrong, Rei” he said in panic

“What’s wrong, Keith? Why are you blushing?” Melissa-sensei asked, seeing Keith’s peculiar behavior

Tomoyo understands it as well, when she realizes what Rei is doing, she step on his foot to shut his mouth.
“Ouch! Why did you do that?” he asks angrily

“Stop acting like a kid” Tomoyo whispered, “It’ll get you in trouble later!”

“Like you know what I’m…” Rei whispered back

“She knows it as well” Jessie stares at him angrily, “Stop it”

“Ceh, you guys are no fun” Rei frowned, “It’ll be fun to tease him around”

Suddenly, Keith remembered something about Rei and his GT-R. They haven’t decided to race yet.
“Rei, so how about tonight we go at it? Are you ready to race me and my M3?” Keith asks, “You already change your body kit, right? So I guess it’s appropriate if we do a battle like we agreed on”

“Sure, sure” Rei nodded few times, “Where and when?”

“Since we don’t have anything to do tonight, what about tonight at Haruna again? That’s my first winning spot for mountain racing” Keith ate his curry rice, “I’ll beat your GT-R with my BMW powered N.A. tuning engine”

“Don’t count on it, since I have Nismo, Tomei, and HKS tunings on my car … I don’t think you stand a chance” Rei smirks proudly, “Might as well pack it up and skip town, Keith”

“We’ll see about that, won't we?” Keith grins

“Tonight it is” Rei exhaled

Suddenly the tension turns high. Hikaru, Steve, Gonsuke, Yamada, Iwami, Souya, Clark, and Tarou didn’t know what to say to both of them.
“Okay, I'm done eating… I’ll wait for you at the front of Kojiro’s restaurant” Rei hands over the bento box back to Tomoyo, “Thank you for the bento, senpai”

“No problem” Tomoyo sighed, “See you guys later”

After he works part time, he goes back to his house and takes a bath. He then heats up his engine and gets his car out. He sat silently as he hears the engine growls with low idling.
“Huff…” he exhaled, “I don’t know why, but I feel that I’ll lose tonight”

“Why is there a hesitation in your voice?” Sky asks, “How can you feel that you’re going to lose?”

“I just know it… I’ll tell you about my most dangerous teammates” Rei sighed, “First is Hikaru, second is Steve, third is Keith, and the last is Tarou”

“You already beat Tarou, so you move on to Keith?” Sky keeps on asking

“Thy greatest obstacle is thy own allies” Rei bites his lips, “I guess that is true… I‘ll battle them and stand at the top”

“Then what’s next?”

“I haven’t given it much of a thought yet” Rei replied flatly, “Time to go to Kojiro’s restaurant and have something to eat”

He drives to Kojiro’s place to eat something while he waits for Keith to be done with his part time work. At nine o’clock, Keith is done and ready to face him.
“Alright, then… let’s move to Haruna” Keith wears his jacket, “Are you ready?”

When Rei nod, the rest of the team member’s join them in their cars to watch their friendly battle. Hikaru is riding with Yuki, while Jessie brings Tomoyo to watch the battle.
“Whooh… damn crowded” Keith spins his head, “I wish I can battle you without the rest of these guys”

“No matter how many the spectators is, I don’t care… it doesn’t make any difference” Rei said arrogantly, “I’ll win this and stand on the top of all of you”

“My, my… what a loudmouth” Steve smirks, “As expected from a ten year old kid”

“You will get your turn, red GTR” Rei smiled to him

“I’ll hold on you to it” Steve smiled back to him

Right now they are at Haruna Mountain’s top parking lot. The wind blows pretty hard, fly the leaves high. The skies are black with few stars in them. Keith is ready anytime to whack his friend’s GT-R.

Even without any announcement, it looks like the news of Ray Krieger battle with Musashi attracts all other street racers.

Cars are everywhere, making the parking space full. People are watching the two cars as they move it to the starting grid. Some are throwing money to each other, making a bet on who’s winning this ‘friendly’ battle, while the others argue as they predict who will win this battle.
“This place is crowded… I hope this goes well for you, Rei” Hikaru pats his shoulder

“There is no need for your concern… I will defeat him” Rei replied leisurely, “See you tomorrow, Hikaru”

He switches the air conditioner to outside air, and straps up. Keith does the same and line up his car behind the GT-R.
“Rei, I will start as the chaser” Keith said to him

“Got it”

“Before we start, I will make this clear for you. This is a seminar to measure your capability as a mountain course racer” Keith added, “I won't hold back, even for a kid like you”

“That’s what I want to hear” he replied

The race will begin shortly, so Tarou will act up as the linesman. He stands at the side of the road and lifts his hand up.

Rei shifted to 1st gear and revs up his engine.
“Are you ready? Let’s race!” Tarou said, “Three… two… one… go!”

When Tarou dropped his hand, Rei launches his car like crazy and left Keith behind. Keith follows shortly afterwards, to cut him some slack.
“Come on!” Rei shouts, “Why do you hold back?!”

“This is my policy, Rei!” Keith yelled, “You can't defeat me on my playground!”

Keith’s car on the other hand is motionless. It looks like Keith is up to something, and he’s waiting for Rei to disappear from his sight.

Rei stares at his rearview mirror and sighed. He’s mad and he intends to make Keith realizes it’s a mistake to give a handicap to him. Keith’s bullshit is making him angry and irritated.
“You’ll be sorry, Krieger” Rei yelled back, “See you at the bottom!”

He increases his pace and passes through the first 180 degrees corner. Keith follows and managed to catch up with him.
“Heh, not bad, Krieger” Rei smiled, “But… Japan is my place! You don’t belong here!”

He slides his car and clears the left 90 degrees corner easily. Now, they are at the second straight line, before another 90 degrees corner.
“This is my spotlight!” Keith said

Keith shifted down and floors the throttle… Rei gets passed easily, with a big engine and a lot of torque. Rei smiled as he watches him pass by. Keith is leading!
“Alright, this is getting more fun”

Rei smiled with satisfaction. He likes it when he’s chasing and mess with his opponent’s mind.
“Alright, alright, alright!” Rei shouted, “Move away, Krieger!”

Rei tried to pass him again in the corner. Keith, who already anticipated it, blocks the inner lane to prevent his progress.
“Oh, no you don’t! I invented that trick, baby!” Keith smiled

“…”

Rei shows serious look on his face. He smirks like a lunatic, who’ve just found a new toy.
“Fine… Let’s see how you drive now with that M3 of yours” Rei smirks

Keith is the one who invent the trick to mess your opponent’s mind, so that means he won't feel intimidated with his opponent from behind.
“It’s useless, Rei” Keith said, “Flashing your high beam to make me nervous? I don’t think that’ll work”

“It looks like plan A is not working, time for plan B, then” Rei shifted up to third gear

Both of them are at the sixth corner, which is another 180 degrees corner. Keith is still leading, and he is a genius in blocking his opponent to prevent their progress.
“Ck,ck,ck…” Rei chuckled, “Time to go, Keith!”

Rei shifted down and sway his car to the side. He managed to pass half of Keith’s car, before they attack another corner.
“Na-a-a-a!” Keith plunges his car at the corner firsthand

“…”

Rei is starting to lose his patience. He shakes his head in boredom and shift down to second gear.

Keith is starting to pull away on the corners. Unlike Rei’s car that has ATESSA, Keith’s car has nothing and it enables him to slide his car however he wants it to.
“Haha! This is bad”

“…” Keith decreases his pace, seeing that Rei is missing on his rearview mirror

Seeing Keith is no longer visible at the front, Rei increases his pace and clears the two consecutive hairpins. He then shifted up to third gear and fully floors his throttle to catch up with the BMW.

He inhaled and accumulated his thoughts and in calm manner to try once again.
“Found you! Let’s go!” Rei shouts

This is the straights with minor turning, but ahead of it, lies a treacherous 90 degrees sharp turn.

Rei and Keith are battling it out head to head in acceleration. Even though he knew that Keith’s car has longer stroke, he doesn’t intends to give up. Shifts up to the fourth and Rei is back ahead of him, blocking the M3 with GT-R’s big boot.
“Brake, brake!” Keith said to him

Rei still accelerating forward meanwhile Keith starts to brake.
“Cih, it doesn’t matter even if you have eight pistons caliper in the front; you won't make that turn with that speed!” Keith shouts, “Stop being rash, kid! You’ll die for sure”

Suddenly, Rei braked hard, causing his car to lose balance. He then steers to the left, and clear the corner with perfect braking drift.
“Phew! I almost lost it back there” he looks at his rearview mirror

“You’ll die young and restless if you keep doing that!” Keith follows his drift

Well this is the part Rei loved the most; three consecutive wavy roads. With his 4 wheel steering, he can speed up even on the wavy road like this.
“Okay, this is the part that I like!” Rei shouts

“Damn! I hate this one!” Keith bawled as he maneuvers his car through the wavy road

As if he’s possessed, Rei continues to push his car faster and faster. One mistake, and he’ll dent his precious GT-R or he’ll die on the ravine. Keith realizes what Rei is doing, and he’s worried. It was him who recommended Rei to join High School Street Racers, and he makes it his responsibility to look after the kid.
“That crazy kid is overdoing it” Keith spins his head in fear, “I have to catch up and end this battle quickly”

Both of them are almost at the five hairpins. Rei is still leading, and he looks impatient as well to end this battle quickly. He attacks the first hairpin with excessive speed. He forgot that Keith is trailing closely behind him.
“Shit!” Rei brakes hard, “I overdid it!”

“This is my cue!” Keith passes him by and shifted down to exit the hairpin faster

Rei’s car under-steers to the outside lane meanwhile Keith is far ahead of him.
“Damn!” Rei hits his steering wheel hard, “I’ve lost it!”

On the hairpins, Rei cannot do much to follow Keith. There is a lag of movement between his 4WD GT-R, and Keith’s RWD M3.
“Sorry, Sky… I’ve lost” Rei sighed

Knowing he don’t stand a chance anymore, he drives his car normally to the base.
Keith is waiting for him, and he looks worried on the kid’s mental condition.
“So?” Keith asks, “How does it feel?”

“Nah, it’s alright” Rei lift his shoulders, “Losing to you is not bad at all. Even when you pull so many handicaps for me, I still couldn’t catch up”

“You need more training with your GT-R” Keith replied, “Your way of driving is too rough and dangerous”

“I guess so” Rei gets into his car, “I’ll train some more, so we can have another battle”

“Alright, don’t think too much about it” Keith pats his shoulder

“Nah…” Rei shrug, “See ya”

Rei drives off and leave Keith alone with his M3. Keith never expected him to be calmed manner, even after he lost the race. He can't stop wondering why Rei acted like that.

Hikaru and the others arrived at the base not long after. Hikaru is the first one to understand Rei’s behavior. He then approaches Keith as he asks about how Rei reacted.
“So… he’s not mad?” Hikaru asks

“How can you tell?” Keith sounds puzzled

“It’s a normal thing to happen” Hikaru shrugs, “He’s indeed a kid outside, but he’s mature when it comes to car-related problems”

Back to his house, Rei sits on the garage while he stares at his GT-R. He feels very disappointed with his skills. Even though he tries to look calm outside, he can't help it but to be disappointed inside.
“…”

“Let it be, Rei” Sky said to him, “It’s normal for a racer to lose sometimes”

“Aaah, not even you” Rei hissed, “I'm going to sleep, Sky… see you tomorrow”

Tomorrow morning, the school is in uproar because it looks like there is trouble last night. The security said there are a lot of people who rampages the school and shatters most of the windows at the school, leaving the school with no choice but to close the school for three to four days for window replacement.
“This is bad” Rei’s face turned pale as he saw shattering glasses is everywhere, “I hope no one is injured”

He met with Tomoyo at the front gate. Tomoyo knows what happen last night, since she’s also watching the race.
“Hi, Rei” Tomoyo smiled to him

“Ah… good morning, senpai” Rei bows politely

“Still disappointed about losing the race last night?” Tomoyo asked

“Meh, not really” Rei replied leisurely, “Well, I have to go back now, senpai… I have trouble sleeping last night, so I'm going to get back to my house and get more sleep”

“Okay… see you tonight, then” Tomoyo nodded

Before Rei walked away to the gate, he saw a handsome man walking towards Tomoyo and hugged her softly… it looks like the guy is her boyfriend. How Rei would know such a thing? He just befriends with Tomoyo a few months ago.
“Who is that guy…? Ah, whatever” Rei shrugs

He didn’t want to poke his nose where it doesn’t belong; since he has better thing to do… that is the correct choice he made. Sleepiness is everyone’s biggest foe. His head is heavy and his vision is starting to blurry.

He yawned and starts to head back home with closed eye.
On the way back, he meets Mustafa with his yellow taxi.
“Minami-san it’s been awhile” Mustafa said

“Oh, how you’ve been, Mustafa-san?” Rei nodded

Even though Rei is smiling, Mustafa knows there is something wrong with his young friend. He then opens the door to ask him to come along.
“Get in, and let’s have a ride” Mustafa opens the door

Rei nods and gets into the cab. Mustafa brings him to his house.

At his house, Mustafa served him with a cup of warm black tea. When Rei sips his tea, Mustafa asks what is wrong with him.
“Something wrong, Minami-san?” he asks

“How can you tell?” Rei looks surprised

“Let’s just say that I know more than most of the people out there” Mustafa said, “So is there something wrong?”

“Meh… not really, I guess… I lost to my teammate last night” Rei answered

“Failure is a delayed success” Mustafa smiled, “Come and finishes your tea. Follow me to my workshop”

“Oh, what is on your workshop? Something interesting with four wheels?” Rei smirks

Rei drinks up the tea and follows him to see his workshop.
“Just follow me, and probably you’ll find something interesting” Mustafa laughs

At the workshop is filled with many men and women, working to shape, color, and burn the tiles beautifully. Clay is what they use to produce these beautiful tiles, and there is a lot of clay supply on the side of the workshop… it looks like Mustafa buys the clay from farmers on the countryside. On the office upstairs, a lot of people are working hard to draw the shape and the design of the tiles, along with the colors.

Rei pays attention carefully on how Mustafa’s disciple and employee work. It looks like he indeed found something interesting here. This will be another investment he’ll do…
“Rei what are you doing here?” a man asks from behind him

When he turns around, he saw a man with a Nissan GT-R and black jeans… it’s Bernard. It looks like he has some business to do here as well, but the question is what…
“Bernard? Why are you here?” Rei asks back, “Don’t tell me… that you’ve gone soft and decided to help Mustafa-san to make tiles”

“I came here to pick up my wife… she is Mustafa-san’s disciple in ceramic workshop” he explains

“Ah, so you two knew each other” Mustafa nodded, “That is good. Bernard-san, please have a look around with Minami-san. I still have to give a lecturing to my students”

The two take a walk together as they talk about what happen last night. Bernard is the same as Keith- he is surprised to see Rei’s calm behavior, even after he lost his battle last night.
“So… how does it feel to lose?” Bernard asks

“Not bad, really” Rei replied, “Losing is not as bad as I think it is”

“I thought that you have a high pride about your skills” Bernard said

“I do… but I have to admit that there is always someone better out there” Rei smirks

“Why don’t you come to my house after this? I will introduce you to my friends… I'm sure they will be able to help you with your problem” Bernard grins, “What do you say?”

“My only problem is I can't beat Krieger…” Rei lift his shoulders, “But since I have nothing to do for these next few days… so I guess that’s alright”

“That’s the spirit… oh, here is my wife” Bernard points at the beautiful lady that’s coming out from the workshop

She is as tall as Rei and spots a beautiful medium length, brown hair that’s styled center. Her face is somewhat looked Asian, but has a distinctive Western traits.
“Darling, who is this?” she asks

“This is Minami Rei, and he’s known as Musashi with his GT-R” Bernard answered, “Rei, this is my wife; Eva”

“How do you do?” Rei bows politely

“I'm fine, thank you… my name is Eva, and I'm Bernard’s wife” Eva replied, “Is he the one, darling?”

“He has the potential, but I'm not sure he’ll be able to defeat ‘them’ easily” Bernard said

“Uh, what are you guys talk about?” Rei asks curiously

“To be honest with you, we heard all of the rumors about you and your GT-R, which did an outrageous popularity and threatening other racing teams” Eva answered, “The others are also talks highly about you”

“The others? Who are they?”

“The other GT-R drivers” Eva answered, “They are the best, and they wants to meet you after last night’s battle- which ends with your defeat”

“Ceh, you don’t have to be straightforward like that” Rei frowned

“But I have to” Eva adds, “Come to our house tonight at seven, and I’ll show you what I meant”

“Okay, but I have one condition” Rei lift his hand

“What is it?” Eva asked

“I don’t know your house… I never been there” Rei scratches his head and smirks

“This kid is surely cute…” Eva said, “I understand why they have high expectation of him”

“No, I'm serious… I don’t know where is your house” Rei scratches his head

“Alright, I’ll drop you on your house, so you can follow me with your car” Bernard said, “Get in”

Rei gets into the car and sit at the back. Bernard and Eva had one share of thought; they want to see whether Rei can handle the Nissan GT-R.
“Move to the front” Eva said, “I’ll sit in the back”

“Why? I'm hitchhiking, so I should sit on the back” Rei lift his shoulders

“Not in this car. You drive… me and my wife wants to know whether you can control this GT-R” Bernard said as he sits at the passenger side

“I don’t have any interest on driving this giant” Rei shrugs, “But if you guys insist, don’t mad at me if your car has a dent or whatever on it, okay?”

“I’ll have the insurance to cover it” Bernard smiled, “Let’s go to Shutoku first”

Rei straps himself with 4 point harnesses on the leather Nismo seat. Even though it looks kind of bizarre, it’s perfectly comfy. When Rei changes the display on the LCD screen to six monitoring condition, he remembers what this GT-R lacks.
“Uh… doesn’t this thing have a speed limiter on it?”

“Not anymore” Eva said, “Ben has installed Mine’s E.C.U to bypass it”

“How fast is it then?”

“340” Bernard answered

“A bit faster than my Nur but oh well… on to Shutoku!” Rei smirked

Rei drives normally to reach Shutoku. When he’s about to enter Shutoku, he moves the car at the side and follows what Jeremy Clarkson did on Fuji Speedway when he test the GT-R.
“Ah… floppy paddle gearbox to manual, then we put the gearbox itself into the race mode, the suspension to race mode, and put that button down to engage the launch control” he mumbles, “Left foot on the brakes, build up revs… here we go”

“What is he doing?” Eva raises one of her eyebrows

“Can't say” Bernard lift his shoulders

The engine builds the revs to 4,600 RPM, and when he releases the brake pedal, the car launches like crazy. The tires on the back are screeching, and his head is pushed to the back.
“My God!” Rei shouted

Rei looks surprised when he launches the car. The acceleration feels crazy. Bernard on the other hand looks pleased when he sees Rei’s reaction; his look on his face is so priceless and that makes Bernard even more proud of his car.
“What do you think?” Bernard asks

“The acceleration feels blistering and savage… It is extremely hard to explain… how this feels” Rei answered vaguely, “Agony is probably the best word…”

“And what is that supposed to mean?” Eva asks

“When I really get going in this kind of speed, I expected to be detached from this action like when I play video games by just pressing the buttons” Rei explained, “But this is incredible… It feels mechanical, it feels analog, and it feels human… it feels fan-bleeding-tastic!”

He clicked 320 in no time while he continuously passing the traffic like it was nothing. This skill is what attracts the other street racers and mostly all of GT-R drivers. Eva pays attention to his every move seriously.
“He’s good, Ben… it feels like we’re watching The Fast and The Furious Movies” Eva said, “I think he’ll do just fine”

“He is… alright; it’s Wangan up ahead, so click it to top speed!” Bernard said

“I’ll try!” Rei taps the right paddle shifter

After thirty minutes of fun, playing around Wangan, Bernard decided it’s time for him to meet the other GT-R drivers.
“Alright, let’s make a U-turn at Daikoku and go back to your house immediately” Bernard said, “It’s almost time to meet the others”

“Okay” Rei exited the highway and makes a U-turn

“Pack up your clothes as well, kid” Eva adds, “We’re going to cross country”

“Eh? Where in the hell’s name we’re going anyway?”

“We won't tell you just yet” Bernard replied leisurely

At Rei’s house, Bernard is waiting outside while Rei packs up his clothes and heats his engine.
“I used to drive one of these… but I thought that conventional gearbox is old” Bernard said, “I sealed him back at the garage, and buy the R35”

“The R34 is the best GT-R ever, even though it’s heavier than R32” Eva replied, “It has good handling and it has decent technology, even if it is outdated now”

“Okay… I'm ready” Rei locks his house, “Come on”

He reared the car, locks the fence and he’s ready to go.
“Okay” Rei nodded, “So where to?”

“Wait a minute” Eva said, “I'm hungry, can we have something to eat?”

“Sure… what do you want to eat, Rei?” Bernard asks

“Hah? I'm not hungry, so I guess that is up to you” Rei shrugs

“Let’s have something to eat at Sizzler” Eva said, “What do you say? It’s my treat”

“Lucky me!” Rei smirks

The three of them goes to Sizzler restaurant to have something to eat. Even though Rei just said that he’s not hungry… he eats most of the food inside the restaurant. He orders a beef steak with lemon and black pepper, while he eats soup, salad, and spaghetti.
“I thought you just said that you’re not hungry” Eva smiled

“That was then… this is now” Rei lift his shoulders as he slurps the pasta

“Young men do have more appetite” Bernard chuckled, “Here, put more cheese onto it”

“Oh, okay” Rei nodded

After roughly one and half hour they eat at the restaurant, they get back on the road. It’s starting to get dark and they need to get to Myagi prefecture immediately.
“We’re off to Myagi, Rei” Eva said from the phone line

“After you” he replied

When he follows Bernard, he falls into a deep thought. He remembers seeing the same thing last night at Haruna- M3’s taillights. He was trying so hard to catch up to it, but no prevail… he lost the battle in no time.
“Rei!” Sky said to him

“Ah!”

He immediately wakes up and braked hard to avoid the collision. He exhaled and accumulated his thoughts.
“What the hell…”

“What’s wrong, kid? You sleepy” Bernard asks him

“It’s not that… I just lost concentration for a minute there” he spins his head, “But I'm alright now”

“Still thinking about last night, huh?” Eva asks

“…”

“Right on the mark” Eva said, “Lucky thing the other GT-R drivers invited you to their secret meeting”

“What is this secret meeting anyway? It bugs me very much”

“You’ll see soon enough” Bernard answered lightly, “Welcome to Myagi, Rei”

Up ahead is the highway exit. They exited the highway and there is no one around. The wind is blowing hard, and the weather suddenly turns unfriendly… it looks like storm is coming.
“Okay, we’re at Myagi… where’s the other drivers?”

“We’re not meeting them on the highway… let’s keep going to Sendai” Bernard replied

“It’s storming” Eva said, “Ah, whatever… let’s go to Sendai”

And so they drive to Sendai circuit. When they approach the entrance, there are two R32, two R33, two R34, and two R35. They surround them and blocking the side, front, and back. Rei recognizes two of those cars, since it has midnight purple, and jet black color. It looks like Sky Captain and Black Phantom is here as well.
“…”

“Rei, meet the GT-R team” Bernard said, “They are the best GT-R drivers from all around Japan”

“I feel like I’ve been followed all along” Rei looks around him, “Alright… let’s meet them, Sky!”

The rain pours hard as he stands on the paddock, along with four middle aged men and two middle aged women who rides their car just now. It looks like they are on retirement… but one thing that bugs Rei very much is, they have amazing aura of speed- just like Hikaru, Keith, Steve, Souya, and Tarou… but it’s stronger.

Rei exhaled and turned on his racer’s behavior mode to keep his cool. He’s thrilled and it’s pushing him to the edge of his mind.
“Okay…” Rei said to them, “Who are you guys?”

“We called ourselves as the GT-R Drivers team” one of them said, “My name is Matsumoto Ogawa, and this is my wife Matsumoto Shino”

“How do you do?” she nods

“As for me, my name is Igawara Junichi, and this is my wife Igawara Ranko” said another man to him

“…”

“As for us, we are Hikoichi Yamamura and Hikoichi Tamura” another man added

“You already know Ichijou Seno and Amano Yuki, right?” Eva asks

“Yes, the Black Phantom is White Ghost’s girlfriend, and the Sky Captain is his sister” Rei nodded

“Yes, but she isn’t known as Sky Captain anymore. She is known as Purple Shadow now” Eva replied

“And I am the Sky King” Bernard said, “Minami Rei! We choose you to be our opponents to prove whose the best is for GT-R!”

“That’s what I’ve been waiting for” Rei smiled wickedly

The challenger of speed meets other kinds like him. Rei’s destiny is yet to come, since he has a long way to learn. One step at a time is better than huge leap forward, only to be consumed by the uncertainty before him.

Can he defeat them, along with all of his friends to stand at the top?

Uh, I don't really like younger girls... that's where Hikaru and Rei got their taste of girls

I like them a bit older than me, because I'm young at heart, and will always be young... that why I like older women, who is more mature and loving.

I'm not a lonely driver, since I don't really mind being alone, and I don't think about girls too much... But that doesn't mean I hate girls, though

RPM 33: Ichijou Seno

All of them are staying at a nice inn, owned by Hikoichi family. Rei gets his own room and right now, he feels his head is killing him- heavy and foggy… it looks like he’s sleepy.
“Try to get some sleep, Rei” Bernard said to him, “The guys will train you tomorrow at Sendai”

“So this meeting is not supposed to be a battle? How boring…” Rei frowned, “And you just said that you guys choose me as your opponent, huh? What was that all about?”

“Hehehehe… I got carried away by the moment” Bernard grins

“Meh… Alright then, see you tomorrow. Good night, man”

Rei unpacks his clothes and put his car key and mobile phone on the table near the bed. He exhaled heavily as he stares at the window. Branches and leaves are rustling noisily, blown by fierce wind. It’s also raining heavily outside.
“Huff…” he sighed, “So many things are going on, and I don’t have any time to grasp it one by one. No use thinking about it, though”

He throws himself to the bed and falls asleep.
“My name is Mikami Rei. I just came from Seattle today”

“A lot of experience will make you better than me” Seno said

“Who is he, Seno?” Bernard asks her, “Your new boyfriend?”

“This silver GT-R… how much?”

“You’re a little kid, you’re driving a GT-R, and the worst is you have great skill in this car” Kojiro said to him

“I drive E92 BMW M3, the Grip Runner” Keith nods, “And I'm Ray Krieger”

“That would be me” Steve replied, “My name is Steve Blackburn, and I drive the red GTR. What do you drive, kiddo?”

“Me? I drive the silver Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nur”

“First of all, let me introduce ourselves” Iwami said, “My name is Yamato Iwami, this is Matsuyama Gonsuke, and Tsubasa Yamada”

“My name is Yuichi Tarou” Tarou introduces himself, “This is Ichijou Hikaru, Hourai Souya, and Clark Landers”

“I'm sure you know us earlier, right” Steve added

“We are from High School Street Racing” Gonsuke said to him, “You are newcomers here, so you should play by the rules”

“Fine… wait, did you just said Ichijou Hikaru? You are brother of Ichijou Seno? You are also the driver of White Ghost, aren’t you?”

“Tsk, tsk, tsk… such boastful words. Why don’t we let our cars do the talk here?”

“…You sure are a different person when you gets behind the wheel” Kyo stares at the window

“I am”

“Nah, I like it when you owe me” Kyo chuckled, “I’ll ask something in return for it in the near future. See you around, kid. Take care, Kojiro”

“No matter how many the spectators is, I don’t care… it doesn’t make any difference” Rei said arrogantly, “I’ll win this and stand on the top of all of you”

“Sorry, Sky… I’ve lost” Rei sighed

He’s having flashbacks about everything that happens from the moment he stepped off from the plane, to the moment he lost to his teammate.

The birds are chirping from the trees outside. Even though the sky looks cloudy and it’s misty outside, the air is very nice.

A woman is done eating her breakfast with her friends. She drinks her melon juice and wipes her mouth. She steeped upstairs and enters a room. A boy can be seen asleep peacefully on the bed at the corner of the room.
“Rei, wake up… its morning already” said a woman beside him

“Uh…?”

He slowly opens his eyes and saw a woman standing near his bed and opens the curtain. The sunlight immediately enters and lit her face.
“Mom?!”

“No, silly” said the woman, “I'm not old enough to be your mother”

He blinks his eyes to see the woman clearly. She has long brown hair styled to the left, tied with yellow rubber band. She wears a Nismo shirt, combined with black skirt.
“Oh it’s you, Seno-san” Rei close his eyes again

“Wake up, and have some breakfast… I cook them for you” Seno pulls the blanket

“Ah… just half an hour more” Rei curls up on the bed

“Come on! Wake up!” she sits on the side of the bed and pulls his shoulders, “Wake up and eat your breakfast!”

“I need more sleep” Rei pulls his shoulders

What he did causes Seno to lose balance and falls down to the bed. Rei can feel something big and soft rubbed his back… it was Seno’s breast.

Seno is mad. Not because her breast rubbed Rei’s back, but his childish behavior is what irritates her. She stands from the bed, grabs Rei’s right hand and yanks it until he falls down to the floor.
“Wake up!” Seno yelled

“Ouch…” Rei rubbed his right shoulder, “It hurts”

“Stop acting like a little kid” Seno hits his head, “Wake up, everyone is waiting for you”

“Huah…” Rei yawned, “What time is it?”

“What time is it? You have a nerve to even ask me that question?” Seno grits her teeth, “It’s already ten o’clock!”

“So what’s the deal?” Rei scratches his head, “Huaah…”

When he yawned, he saw something interesting is going on with Seno’s clothes. Her upper shirt is unbuttoned, revealing a sight of her cleavage. Rei blushed and feels embarrassed.
“Why are you blushing?” she gets more irritated

“Eh…? Nothing… I’d better eat the breakfast” Rei stands up and go out from his room

“…” Seno smiled happily

After Rei went out, Yuki enters the room and talk to Seno about their little training.
“So? What will we do to that little kid?” Yuki asks

“Train him like the usual” Seno said as she buttoned her shirt, “He has a rough racing line, and that makes him easy to be beaten…”

“Oh, usual, huh? I see that you are also doing that same old trick you used to wake me up” Yuki giggled

“This is a special case” Seno replied, “Yuki, since you’re going to be my sister in law, I’ll be honest with you… I might have a liking to that kid after all. I want to find out what kind of guy will he turned out to be when he acts like and adult… I bet that he’ll turn into such a hot guy”

“Na-a-a-a! You also develop a shota disease, just like Ayumi-san” Yuki smiled

“Don’t compare me with her. I'm sexier, hotter, and prettier than she does” Seno waves her hair, “He has the same aura like Hikaru did… and that is what attracts me”

“Ah… so you do have a brother complex syndrome” Yuki lift her shoulders, “But it’s alright I guess… as long it’s not my boyfriend you’re married with”

“Back to the racing line… We will have the older guys to teach him about it” Seno said

After eating his breakfast and takes a bath, Rei is ready to take on the GT-R Drivers Team.
On the inn’s garage, Seno is sitting at her GT-R, as she drinks her melon juice. She is waiting for him to be done.
“Um… where is everyone?” Rei looks around the garage, only to find it empty

“They already at Sendai circuit” Seno answered, “Get into your GT-R, and let’s go…”

“Okay” Rei gets into his GT-R and ignites the engine

Seno heard the sound of Rei’s GT-R and compared it to hers. Something is way wrong with his GT-R.
“Rei, what kind of exhaust did you use?” Seno asks

“Nismo garage change it with Weldina NE-1… they say to make it ‘greener’ because it uses catalytic converter they custom made for me. It’s been proven and passes the emission test, even for a car with high HP like mine”

“Don’t tell me that most of your car’s parts are from Nismo Z-Tune…” Seno stares at him seriously

“How do you know it? Well not most of it, I suppose” Rei smirks

“How much horsepower do you have currently?” Seno keeps asking

“About 820 on the wheel… why do you ask?”

“That is about the same like mine…” Seno thought, “What kind of parts did my car lacks?”

“Shall we go now? I want to see what kind of test they have for me…”

“Oh, yes, dear” Seno gasped, “After you”

Rei starts to drive slowly out from the garage and heads to Sendai circuit. Seno is following behind him slowly as she thought about his GT-R.
“His power is the same as mine… but why is his car’s exhaust sound louder than mine?” Seno wondered, “Hikaru’s friend said that his top speed is about 340-350 KM/H… what did he does to his car?”

“What does it matter?” asks a male voice

“What is it, Sora?” Seno asked back

“You know it effectively that bigger horsepower has another feedback on the handling, especially if he’s on a circuit” Sora said

“I guess so, but there is something that bugs me, though…” Seno replied, “It doesn’t seem that his car has a trouble in accelerating in any kind of situation… Tarou, who almost at the same level as Eliah, is beaten by this same little kid. Krieger also has a hard time shaking him from his M3’s ass”

“There is only one answer to it… aside from the muffler type that is” Sora explains, “It looks like his ATESSA-ETS Pro has been hacked up by Nismo, using Z-Tune’s settings”

“Not to mention his great body reinforcement and carbon component…” Seno adds, “I think that kid has more than he admits… Who is he?”

“Uh-oh… my master fall in love with an alien kid” Sora said

“Shut up! He’s not an alien” Seno replied

“Yes, ma’am”

They arrived at Sendai not long after. Bernard, Eva, Yuki, and the rest of the guys are already waiting.
“You’re late!” Yuki said to him

“Sorry” Rei scratches his head, “Okay, guys… I'm ready”

“No you’re not… do you really think that you have what it takes to race against them?” Eva asks, “Listen to me kid, what makes you lost to Krieger is because you don’t have an appropriate racing skills! What did you learn in Nissan Racing School anyway?”

Seno pays attention to what Eva says to him. It’s good to be strict to a newbie once in awhile. But Rei, on the other hand is smiling bitterly. He knows it already and he’s bored sick hearing the same thing over and over again.
“I hear you, lady… come on, let’s get this over with” Rei shrugs, “I didn’t come here to listen to your lectures all day long. If you want to know what I learn at Nissan Racing School, you should apply, and find out yourself”

Eva is speechless. She didn’t know what to say to him anymore. Seno and Yuki can't help it but to hold their laugh after seeing how Rei responded to her nagging.
“Alright… if you think you can beat the guys, you should have a run with them and try to follow their lines” Eva smirks, “See if you can keep up with them at least three laps around Sendai”

Rei exhaled and gets into his car. He ignites it and revs it up seven times to psyche himself up.
“Who’s first?” Rei asks while he narrowed his eyes

“Try to keep up with Matsumoto-san, Igawara-san, and Hikoichi-san” Seno said to him, “Rei, I must warn you, though… if you keep on driving like you used to, you’ll lose. Try to find out what is wrong with your driving style, and correct it”

“Seno-chan! Stop spoiling him” Eva said

“I'm not” Seno smiled to her, “Don’t worry about her, Rei… she is stingy, but she is a kind woman”

Rei smiled back to her and shrugged. He didn’t care what Eva told him earlier.
“Alright, kid… let us show you why we’re called the best” said Shino

“I can't wait to drive my partner again” Ogawa added

“Let us help him to be the best, Ranko” Junichi said to his wife

“Yes, dear we must prepare the youngsters with skill to survive” Ranko nodded

“What do you think of him, bro?” Tamura asks

“He’s good. I can see his battle aura clearly- even though it’s still barely threatening” Yamamura answered

“Okay” Rei smirked

Seno feels curious. She decided to take a closer look to observe this kid.
“Mind if I hop in?” Seno asks, “I won't bother you with my speech”

“Seno-chan!” Eva wheezed

“Don’t worry, mom” Seno laughs, “I won't give him any advice”

Eva sighed and Bernard pats her shoulders to calm her down. He smiled and nodded to Rei.
Rei nods back to him and lined up his car behind the other GT-Rs.
“Observe them closely, Rei” Seno said, “You can't overtake them easily”

“…”

“My, what a serious face” she smiled, “You sure are a different person behind the wheel”

“I am” Rei replied flatly

When the lights go off, the GT-Rs in front are launching. Rei follows and try to keep up.
“Let’s see what you’ll do, Musashi” Seno thought to herself

What Rei did is already predictable. Even though he tries to play it cool, he can't keep up with them. Bigger horsepower doesn’t mean advantages on the racetrack. Without proper racing lines, all he does is just overtakes and overtaken… again and again.
“…”

“What is it? You give up already?” Seno smiled

“I need to take a break” he sighed

They get back to the paddock and as Rei expected, Eva is waiting to give him another stingy advice.
“See? I told you” Eva said to him

Rei gets back out and stopped his car at the side of the track. He closes his eyes and accumulates his thought. He knows what lacks him the ability to keep up with the other guys.
“Seno-san… I want you to tell the others to let me observe for at least one more lap” Rei said to her

“Okay” Seno lift her eyebrows

“Wangan don’t need a fancy racing line, huh, Rei?” Sky asks, “But what these people trying to tell you are you should have patience in racing. What makes you lost to Krieger isn’t your level of skill, but your patience”

“I know, Sky… I know” Rei replied

Seeing how Rei talked to himself, Seno assumes that he’s also able to talk to his car, or have his reflection on the car.
“The others agreed. One lap for observation and another four to get you in the front” Seno nodded

“Thanks… that is all I need” he replied

He gets another go. This time, he only wants to observe carefully. Where do they make turns, accelerate, brake, shift up, and shift down.
“Heel and Toe is playing great role on the circuit, Rei” Seno explains, “Don’t rely too much on the engine brake”

“Got it” Rei nodded

After one lap of observing, Rei has to climb the position from the back. After another four laps, he made it barely at the second position.
“Tough, huh?” Seno smiled

“I don’t understand what this have to do with street racing!” Rei grits his teeth in frustration, “What are you guys planning, anyway?”

“Nothing” Seno replied, “If you still think that you’re the best- then you got it all wrong”

“Meh… here we go again” Rei shrugs, “I better go and give it another try”

He drives back to the paddock, and dropped Seno. After that, give it another try to follow the racing line exactly the others showed him. At the paddock, Seno is curious why Bernard wanted to find a suitable candidate to replace him.
“A kid is just a kid after all…” Seno said, “But I can understand his point, though. What are you planning exactly, Bernard? It’s not like you to search for a successor…”

“I just had enough of it” Bernard lifts his shoulders, “I want to quit racing and live a normal life… I can't live like Satoshi or Kenjou… or like all of you who already has a family, but still thinking about street racing”

“Bernard… don’t tell me that Eva is pregnant” Yuki gasped

“She is… that’s why I have to quit” Bernard sighed, “This is my choice, and I guess I made the right one”

“Even though you still have a problem, that is” Seno shrugs, “Let’s get back to the inn, guys”

“I wish that your brother is still driving a GT-R” Bernard lowers his head

“Now you made me feel bad gathering the old team” Seno exhaled, “I will urge him to train harder. But I can't make any promises, though”

“One question” Yuki lift his hand, “Why don’t you just pass the title voluntarily?”

“Those will tatters the name of every Skyline owners… I can't give away that title easily” Bernard replied

The result is… not very pleasant. Street racers need a lot of time to get used to know best racing line on racetrack, and Rei is no exception. Even though he has no trouble passing the Nissan Racing School program, he does it only to get some sort of basic skill needed for street race.

It’s been two days after that meeting.

Rei is done working part time, and he went out to eat at Kojiro’s restaurant. Seno is also seen at Kojiro’s place, doing monthly tune ups on her GT-R. It looks like she goes straight here from her office to take care of her GT-R.
“Hi, Rei… what are you doing?” Seno asks

“Hi, Seno-san” Rei bows to her

“Can we eat something at the restaurant? I'm hungry…”

“My treat, okay?” Rei nodded

The two of them eats at the restaurant while chats about the reason for the meeting few days ago. Rei understood the reason, and he can't help but to feel bad about what happen.
“Uh… now you made me feel guilty also” Rei scratches his head, “Sorry I couldn’t live up to you guys’ expectation”

“Bernard wants a fair match between you and him. On the circuit, not on the street” Seno explains, “That’s why he went through the trouble, to get you familiar with racing lines”

“Even so, I mess it up… I didn’t try hard enough. But I guess I'm right about the racing line had nothing to do with street racing”

“Yes you are…” Seno smiled, “Can you give me a ride after this? My GT-R has to stay overnight”

“Okay” Rei agreed, “But Seno-san… can you give me a private lecturing sometime? I didn’t want to disappoint you guys, so I’ll try as best as I can”

“For sure… anytime, Rei” Seno nodded

After he pays for the food, he drives Seno to her house. On the way, Seno stares at him sometimes. Rei knows it that she’s going to ask something personal, so he gets ready for any stupid question.
“Rei… do you have a girlfriend?” Seno asks

“Uh… I don’t. Why do you ask?” Rei ask back

“What kind of girl you’re into?” Seno keeps on asking

“Older girl… hey, why am I being interrogated?”

“No reason” Seno waves her hair and stares outside

When he saw Seno waving her hair, his heart suddenly beats fast like when he’s racing in high speed at Wangan. Rei stares at her, looking at every curve she has. Perfect body shape, big breast, big butt, smooth legs, beautiful face, long brown hair, older than he does, and the worse thing of all- she is Hikaru’s sister!
“Ah!” Rei braked hard, seeing a cat crossing the street

“What is it, Rei?” Seno looks at him

“Ah, I'm fine!” Rei panicked, “Here is your house, right? We’re here”

“Oh yes, thank you” Seno smiled to him, “Hikaru isn’t going to be home for awhile, since he’s out for a study at Yuki’s house… care for a coffee?”

“Uh… I have to attend there for the same reason. We’re having a delicate quiz from Yue-sensei tomorrow”

“Oh that is too bad” Seno giggled, “Next time perhaps?”

“Sure… I will try to avoid it, though” Rei mumbled

Rei drives to Yuki’s house immediately to study together. Seno licks her sexy lips as she watches Rei’s GT-R disappear from her sight.
“Tasty kid… I’m sure he’ll offer a lot of sex pleasure on the bed” Seno said, “Next time, Rei… I’ll be sure to make you mine”

At Yuki’s house, they began their intensive study. Rei can't concentrate around Hikaru. Because when he’s around, Rei starts to think about him being rejected. Hikaru and the others are starting to suspect something is wrong with Rei, and Hikaru decided to ask about it.
“Rei, are you alright?” Hikaru asks him, seeing his peculiar behavior

“No, nothing. I'm, I'm fine…” Rei smirks

“Okay, if you say so” Hikaru nodded

Yuki narrowed her eyes, because she knew that Rei is also attracted to Seno. She can't help it but to hold her laugh. The others are starting to have the wrong idea of affairs between Hikaru-Yuki-Rei or Rei develops a feeling for Hikaru.
“What is it, Yuki?” Hikaru asks

“No, nothing, dear… I'm fine” Yuki giggled

“Why is everyone acts so weird today?” Hikaru shakes his head in wonder, “Oh, well”

After studying, Steve and the others are watching Red Line DVD Rei recently purchased. Hikaru is at the kitchen, whipping something. When Rei decided to help him, the others became curious and listen on what happened at the kitchen.
“What are you making, Hikaru?” Rei asks

“I want to make some melon juice. Can you help me with it?” Hikaru ask back

“Okay, sure” Rei nods, “This is her favorite juice, I guess”

“What?”

“Oh, nothing” Rei spins his head

“This is getting intense by the moment” Steve whispered to Jessie

“Oh my God… it looks like we’re having an abnormal teammate” Clark slaps his forehead

“No, I’d say he develops a feeling for Yuki also” Jessie said

“I have the same idea as well” Sarah added

Back to Rei and Hikaru, the both of them seem to get along pretty well, but that is what the others fear the most. For the guys believed that Rei likes Hikaru, but the girls believed that Rei likes Yuki.
“Uh, Hikaru, can I ask you something?” Rei ask with uneasiness in his voice

“What is it?” Hikaru feels that something weird is going on

“Oh God… I can't watch this” Souya bites his lips

“Shhh… be quiet” Yuuri said

“Should we interrupt and stop them?” Gonsuke asks

“I don’t know” Marie spins her head in confusion

“I can't believe he wants to stab Hikaru from the back” Rika said in anger

“No. You get the wrong idea here, Rika” Tarou cuts in, “He likes Hikaru”

“Your sister is a career woman, right? Didn’t she have a boyfriend already?”

“He-eh?” the others said in confusion

“Nah, my sister always was a busy person. I bet that she has a lot of admirers, but she won't choose any of them” Hikaru rubs his chin, “She is a mysterious person, but she is the best sister I could’ve ask for”

“…”

“Why do you ask?” Hikaru ask back

“Nothing, really I'm just curious, why would a woman like her abandoned by the guys out there”

“That is one of the world’s mysteries… I guess” Hikaru shrugs, “Okay, puts some more ice and condensed milk on it”

“Hey, Hikaru… what if I became her boyfriend?”

“Pardon?” Hikaru stops the juicer to hear him clearly

“I mean that, uh… what if I introduce some of my boss’ friends to her?”

“You mean Mikami Rei’s friend? Well I don’t mind, but I bet that she’ll never accept any of them” Hikaru laughs, “Saves you the trouble, Rei”

“Ahahaha”

“Wah, so it’s about Hikaru’s sister” Sako frowned

“We’ve got our hopes too high” Yamada replied

“Let’s leave them be” Ayase wheezed

“Yes, we have nothing more to worry about” Iwami adds

Yuki also eavesdropping on their conversation and she smiled as she typed a text message from her PDA to Seno.

At Hikaru’s house, Seno feels very excited. She can't wait to impress Rei.
“Oh, wow… it’s been a long time I feel excited like this” Seno smiled, “I will do something good for him tomorrow”

Next day, at four o’clock in the morning, Seno is up already and cooks something nice at the kitchen. She made three box of bento; one for her, one for Hikaru, and one for… you can already guess; Rei. Seven o’clock she leaves the house and goes to Rei’s house to deliver the bento box, and wakes him up.

She didn’t have a key to his house, so how can she enter his house?

Well, she didn’t have to. All she does is to knock the door several times until Rei is awake and opens the door.
“Rei…” Seno knocks the door, “Wake up, it’s seven already”

Rei heard the woman’s voice outside his doorstep. He immediately opens it and greets her with a yawn.
“Huaah… good morning, Seno-san” Rei yawned

“I bring you a bento box… I also came here to cook a breakfast for you” Seno said as she steps to the kitchen and wears the cooking apron

“What about Hikaru? Is he awake already?”

“I already wake him up” Seno nods, “Okay; let’s cook something delicious for you”

“Sorry to bother you” he said as he scratches his head in wonder

“Don’t feel bad about it…” she replied with a smile

Ten minutes later, she serves the hainan rice with grilled chicken to him. She feels happy and satisfied already, because she already shows off her great cooking skills to her boyfriend candidate.
“Well, I did what I came for, so I better go to work. See you tomorrow, Rei” Seno takes off the cooking apron

“Ah, yes… thank you very much”

“I’ll stop by again tonight, so I can cook something for you” Seno approaches Rei and kiss him at the cheek, “Bye”

Rei blushed and freezes for one minute before he eats the food. It feels good to fall in love to someone older, someone who’ll take care of you for the rest of your life.

Rei walks slowly to his school. He’s happy, because he feels Seno’s affection to him is what he needs.
“Rei” said someone from behind him

When he turn around it’s him and his girlfriend- Hikaru and Yuki. Both of them are walking towards the school together.
“Hi, Minami-san” Yuki nodded

“Aah… hi there” Rei replied with a smile

“Let’s walk together to the school, shall we?” Hikaru asks

“Sure, sure. Let’s go…”

After the quiz, it’s lunch time. Everybody got out their bento box to eat it.
“Oh, you brought a bento as well, Rei?” Hikaru asks

“Yup…”

When Rei takes out his bento box, Hikaru recognizes the bento box he’s carrying. It was the bento box his sister used.
“Rei, how can you have my sister’s bento box?” Hikaru asks curiously

Rei’s heartbeat just stopped for a minute. He then looks at his friend with casual face to calm the situation.
“Well…” he answered

“Nah… must be coincidence” Hikaru smirks, “Relax…”

Hikaru knows it that his sister also cooks for him, and he has no problem with it. He then asks again about the bento Rei eats.
“Is it good?” Hikaru asks

“Yup… this is the best” Rei replied

“Rei, why don’t you get a girlfriend yourself? It’s nice to have someone who will bring you bento box” Yuki added

“I will, but I have to get closer to her first” Rei scratches his head, “Don’t worry, though… I will make her my girlfriend soon!”

All of them continue to eat their bento box. Hikaru still not satisfied until he gets a clue about their newly secret relationship.
“Rei… can I ask you something?” Hikaru ask him suddenly

“Wah? What is it?”

“What do you think of my sister?” Hikaru ask

“She’s… alright” Rei replied nervously

“Alright?” Hikaru keeps on asking

“Sorry if what I say is impolite, but she’s hot” Rei smiled casually

“…” Hikaru nodded

“…”

“Be honest, Rei” Hikaru said

“Aaah! You saw through me, didn’t you?!” Rei points his face, “How do you know it? Did Yuki-san tell you?”

“Yuki didn’t need to tell me anything. You ask around about my sister last night, without any apparent reason” Hikaru shrugs, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I was going to tell you after we became a couple, but you already knew it, so… I… aaaaah!”

“It’s okay Rei… I don’t mind” Hikaru nods

“Heh? Really?” Rei asks, looking a bit surprised

“Yup… I have no rights to interfere with my sister’s personal affair” Hikaru lift his shoulders, “But let me warn you in advance… she is aggressive and scary woman. If you mess up with her, she won't hesitate to kick your ass”

“Gulp… okay” Rei swallowed his thoughts

“And also… if you break her heart, I’ll break your neck” Hikaru looks at him seriously

“That’s not going to happen” Rei replied seriously

“And that is that… good luck with her, Rei” Hikaru said

“Thank you, Hikaru… I will be a good guy for your sister”

He has no more trouble now, so he breathes with satisfied look on his face.
“Oh, if it’s okay with you… I want to ask her to move out to my place” Rei said to him

“What?! Are you serious?”

Everyone looks surprised. No one is that brave to ask someone’s sister to move out to their place.
“Unless you say otherwise” Rei bites his lips

“…” Hikaru lowers his head

“…”

“I’ll ask my sister. But if she accepts, then I won't complain” Hikaru sighed, “You sure are bold, Rei…”

“And if possible, I want to marry her as soon as possible” he said again

That word even freaked everyone who listens to what they said. Steve, Keith, Souya, Tarou, Clark, Iwami, Gonsuke, and Yamada cannot believe what he just said.
“Hahahaha, this kid is nuts!” Keith laughs

“The writer sure is silly. This story should be about cars and stuffs, but it turns out to be a drama and love story” Steve shakes his head in wonder

“Why, Rei? What do you have in mind, actually?” Hikaru sits back in his chair and look at his friend seriously

“I… ah, I need someone to take care of me. And I choose your sister as my partner for life” Rei explained, “Before she ends up marrying someone else, I should propose to her as soon as I can… right?”

The others laugh their asses hard. He’s so funny and naïve like a child. There is no way a woman will marry a guy she just met few days ago… unless their family engage them together.
“Rei, Rei, Rei… you sure are an amusing fellow” Jessie giggled

“Marrying someone is not like a dating game” Rika explained, “You need to know the good things and bad things of your partner through a relationship”

“You can't marry someone instantly, kid… geez” Ayase added

“Eh? But my... my boss’ brother does it” Rei explained, “Why can't I follow it?”

“You mean the engagement of Mikami Ryu with Harukawa Narumi, right? I heard it from the news” Yuki said, “That is a family engagement for business purpose, Rei… Harukawa enterprise needs funding for their business operation, and that engagement serves the purpose”

“But they love each other” Rei tried to argue

“That is a coincidence… Narumi is my childhood friend” Yuki sighed, “It was Narumi who offers the engagement, to save their family’s enterprise”

“And that decision turns me to be an old man in my young age” Rei grumbled, “But that’s okay… I have to get closer to Seno-san, then”

“I will as her about what you just told me, but I can't guarantee that she’ll accept it, though” Hikaru exhaled, “Man… I can't believe how silly you are, Rei”

Yuki typed a message about the moving out to Seno through her PDA.

At her office, Seno is having a meeting about the marketing department’s income issue. When she read the message, she smiled and spins her head in wonder. That message also fires her up to go home as soon as she can, so she can pack her things to move to Rei’s house immediately.
“She didn’t give any reply. It looks like she’s having a meeting right now” Yuki smiled, “Be patient, okay?”

“Sure… I got nothing but time” Rei said in excitement, “I have a nice welcoming present for her”

“And that is…?” Steve ask curiously

“I won't tell” Rei narrowed his eyes, “Just wait and see”

That evening, Rei is watching a TV about Nissan GT-R documentary on National Geographic channel.
“He~eh… Great Taro Revolution” Rei smirks, “I can't wait to meet this Carlos Ghosn guy… what is so good about Nissan GT-R? They are fatter than my GT-R”

Someone is coming with a car outside his house. When he takes a look outside, it’s Seno and her midnight purple GT-R.

Rei immediately opens the door and lets her in. After she parked her GT-R on the garage, she takes out her big bags from the trunk.
“Hi…” Seno smiled to him

“Hi” Rei smiled back to her, “Let me help you with that”

Rei help her carrying one of the big bags and lead her to the house. After unpacking her clothes, Seno makes something nice for him- spicy ramen noodle with beef and mushroom.
“Oh, wow!” Rei said happily

“Here you go. Let’s eat it while it’s hot” Seno gives him the ramen

After the two eats the spicy ramen noodle, Seno makes cold chocolate milk as the drink.
“Here you go, Rei… drink milk to cool of your tongue” Seno gives him the cold milk

“Thank you”

Seno is happy. She watches Rei drinks the milk like a kid and for once, she feels more than just needed- she is loved. Unlike Hikaru’s love, which is siblings love, Rei’s love for her is different. She pats his hair and tidied it up so she can see his face clearly.
“Rei, Yuki said that you want to marry me as soon as you can, right?” Seno ask

“Yup” Rei answered lightly

“Why do you like me, Rei? Why do you want to marry me?” Seno ask again, “Our differences are ten years and I’ll get the wrinkles soon”

“Nah, wrinkles can be taken care of easily. I want someone who’ll take care of me. Someone who’s mature and experienced in life… I don’t need a woman that’ll only spend my money at the shopping mall for clothes or jewelries” Rei answered

“So it doesn’t have anything to do with me being hot and sexy?” Seno ask again

“Ah, that is one of the reasons as well. Here, let me tell you what you are, Seno-san… you are a beautiful woman who is older than me, you are hot and sexy, big breast and big butt, you have smooth legs, long brown hair… to sum it up, you’re perfect!” Rei smiled, “Even if our age is apart ten years, you look as if you just turn twenty. Besides on twenties and thirties, women are mostly on their prime time… or at least that is what I’ve heard. That’s why I want you, Seno-san”

Seno blushed when he said that. For once in her lifetime, she feels a burning desire to have him. She breathes heavily and her body feels hot. She gets closer to Rei and lean her body to the side of the table.
“Rei… want to make love to me?” Seno looks at him with seducing eye, “My mother will kill me in the afterlife for saying that, but who cares…”

Rei smiled softly and shrugs.
“I would love to, but Hikaru forbids me” Rei frowned, “I have to marry you first”

“I see” Seno smiled, “He is right… I need to know you more, so I can conclude that I made a right decision in my entire life”

“He said that he’ll kill me if I touch you” Rei smirks, “Even though I'm sure he won't go as far as that”

“So true” Seno continues, “Oh well. It’s late, why don’t we get some sleep?”

“Okay…” Rei nodded, “See you tomorrow”

“Yes, see you tomorrow, Rei” Seno replied

She kisses him at the cheek and enters her room. Rei exhaled and smiled happily as he enters his room to get a rest.
