@GT3RS/general talk

cars in america are cheap generally. volvos are nice and safe and quiet etc, but toyota is reasonably safe and reliable too. servicing and parts for any euro built cars is ridiculous here to the point where it's almost worth not even buying the car.

and for my first car i want something that IF I crash (or someone crashes into me) it's not like the end of the world because my 15-20k car has been written off and i dont have comprehensive insurance or whatever. it's just silly to spend a lot on your "first" car imo. i mean, i've driven my parents' cars a lot (2000 pajero & 2002 rav4) and they're great, reasonably reliable and not too bad to drive.

True. You do have some good points in that post.

But, I'll tell you one thing...when I said cheap, I meant around US 5-6k. Mine?

SPOILER

But go with what you want man. I'm anxious to see what you get. I remember when I was hunting for a new car to replace my old GMC, and I was going to make a trip to the DFW metroplex to look at cars I found online. It was pretty fun, to be honest, looking at the cars for sale online. Then I found the S60 I have now, and that trip never happened.

The only S60 you would pay 15-20k for would probably be an S60-R, or a facelifted first generation model (2005-2009). Most of those that I browsed through were in that price range.

Anyway, two recent purchases for me.

@grimsolace

errrrr not really? :\ lol. that's because of emissions standards, and you CAN drive those anyway because they're older than a certain year. you just need to convert it to unleaded petrol, or use fuel additive or whatever, but i'm pretty sure it's unleaded anyway.

Welcome to BHG Hell.

not yet, im gonna look at it on saturday. all the cressida's here are 7M w/4sp auto

and, lol, you don't even know the half of it. we used to have one, it only did that because of under-torqued bolts in the head gasket or whatever. can just swap for an aftermarket head gasket and problem solved.

besides im only keeping the 7M for a little while, not modding it, just wheels/tyres/suspension/stereo. once i have my full license hopefully i'll have enough to get a 1JZ frontcut and go from there.

Well actually if it hasn't blown yet, simply retorquing or getting ARP studs and torquing those to 90ft/lbs would fix it. MHGs are overkill for the most part...(for NA anyway)

@Benovelence: 2jz are a little bit more $. Also more shit required to swap them in. $5-10k total(for a mk3 supra anyway) Alternatively 2JZ NAs can be picked up for $400 in good condition

She'll be 10 weeks as of Monday.

She's so laidback, doesn't freak out with loud noises(we'll see what happens during a storm). Super playful...atm she's taking a nap.

We changed her name to Mocha..because..chocky..was just...bad.

lol its funny how plans go ... ended up having a good old argument with parents and stayed away from home (at friends, hotels etc) for a week. needless to say , it was pretty costly.

but while i was away i got a new hp laptop (HP Pavilion m6-1010TX) a black alcantara playseat (put g27 on it) and a pioneer wifi/dlna/bluetooth wireless speaker thingy (looks like a ipod dock).

expensive week was expensive. but i had a lot of fun being on my own without being told what to do when.

soooooooooo i wont be getting a car for a while. i decided i dont really need one (i get bus/train to work anyway) so i might as well just save my money for a good one later on.

New upper that I partly built up/bought yesterday. BHW 3 grove polygonal barrel, recon weight. DD muzzle brake, Troy gas block, melonited gas tube, RGuns nickle boron M16 weight BCG, BCM Gunfighter CH.

Still waiting for a parallax tactical rail system, then just have to decide on optics/irons.

Re-read my post. Irons = BUIS. Optics = reddots or scopes.

Also, the Magpul sights choke on fat cock all night. I've PERSONALLY destroyed 4 of them (three of them ripped off the weapon while running, one of them actually melted to the f**king FSB). Hell, I can't think of a single thing other than the UBR/PRS and CTR from magpul that I actually like (ok, the MOE handguards as well). Lancer Mags are better, Vickers makes a better sling, Troy irons make the MBUS it's b*tch. Hell, the BDA they just ripped off the work that Phase 5 did on their extended release system.
