QUOTE (GT3 RS @ Yesterday, 1:31 AM) | Future purchase, in about a week.

Probably going to get an auxiliary cable for my car too. As of now, I can only use my iPhone 4, but afterwards I'll be able to either use my 5 or my iPad Mini. |
Iphone 5 really? Not that that's a bad thing, but the hardware is really lacking against it's competitors.
Personally I'd like to upgrade to a Sony Xperia Z, but it probably won't come to Sprint T_T. Next best option is a Galaxy S IV, but...it's gpu could have been better T_T. It does however have the new Exynos 5450 Octo-core O_o.
If you're in the US, I highly highly suggest/recommend that you buy your aux cable from monoprice.com, you can get some seriously high quality cable, and it's cheap. Premium 10 ft cable? $2...Want a highspeed HDMI cable 25ft of it? $20 ...lol

QUOTE (GT3 RS @ 56 minutes, 6 seconds ago) | I've just gotten so familiar with the iOS interface over the years, and I just need something new. My 4's processor can't run iOS 6.X without it being slow, and the apps are slow as well. Facebook constantly jams up, and will crash from time to time.
Also, I REALLY want the panoramic camera feature. |
Have you ever had any experience with the Android platform? I used to be on a 1G and 3GS iPhone (at the time I thought it was bloody amazing) but then I took an arrow to the knee...In all seriousness, when I went to my SII, everything was just better lol. But then again I like to extra stuff with my phone. Like emulation for example, being able to play N64 games or hooking up a ps3 controller wirelessly, etc.

No. At this point, I don't plan to. I'm just too familiar with the iOS interface. I've had two iPod touches, the iPhone I have now, a 2G iPad (shared in my family), and an iPad mini. I've also gotten familiar with iTunes, and having a phone and tablet that can sync with the same program makes my life easier. I don't need all of the extra stuff like what you mentioned. The iPhone does the job for me.

I'd get either an Xperia Z or a Lumia 920. I don't like Samsung that much tbh, their phones may be beast on the inside but they're rather cheap and flimsy on the outside. And most of their phones have a bland and boring design - the Galaxy S3's camera is actually protruding a bit making the camera more vulnerable to damage /: I think I'd get an iPhone 5 instead of a Galaxy S3, but eh, that's only if I were to choose between those two phones. If I were to choose from all the flagship phones of now though, I'd stick to what I said above: either Xperia Z or Lumia 920. --- what have I bought tonight? Exqlusive, I think WP8 has a lot of potential. Sure, the apps are scarce but it isn't really that surprising, being a new OS and all. It'll be a matter of time until WP8's Marketplace gets booming. Also don't get me started on the sales figures of the Nokia Lumias and how Nokia is not the only WP8 phone manufacturer lol. You could pretty much say that WP8 can have all the support it needs in the near future if you think of it.
I also agree to the ridiculously fast depreciation of phones nowadays. I got me a Nokia 700 only to find out that Symbian's officially extinct 2 months later, and that midrange Lumias like the 620 are very tempting >.>
Back to Android and iOS though, a friend of mine said this on facebook and I'm gonna quote it here since I kinda agree with what he said:
QUOTE | "Android will never go down, neither will apple. They both will always be up there, no matter what."
Thing is, it's the nature of life. Good things must come to an end. No matter how good Android or Apple, it will meet its end. Much like how successful Symbian were back in the days when everyone had a Symbian phone but what happened to it now? Dead... So don't be too optimistic. |

The thing with WP8/Windows Phone in general is that your stuck with whatever Microsoft gives you, which isn't a whole lot.
Android has rooting and ROM's, iOS has jailbreaking and WP8, well, it has nothing. Another point is that both Android and iOS have huge developer/community interests so you always have something new cropping up (a new rom/kernel, a new jailbreak tweak etc.)
With Windows Phone, if you don't like what you get, well tough luck. You can't do shit with it. You can try Googling your problems, but the only answers you'll find "You can't do that yet on Windows Phone".
Windows Phone fails to do all the little things too. It seems so frustrating to use it as a daily device. Like for example, what idiot decided not to have an option to turn off auto-rotate. It's so stupid. To turn it off, I have to search on XDA for one app, which I have to download to my computer, then I have to get a developers account from Microsoft and register my phone with them, then I have to download a shitload of SDK's and software, and then finally I can have the ability to turn off auto-rotation.
Another annoying "feature" is the people's hub. When you first start the phone, it asks for a Hotmail account/a Microsoft account, alright that seems fine, but what it doesn't tell you is that it adds all your freaking contacts from Hotmail, Facebook etc., so now I have 1000 contacts on my phone, none of which I want and none of which are actually my goddamn contact list. There is no way to fix this either, the only option is to completely reset the phone to factory and re-do the whole process with an email address that has no contacts, and then add in your actual email later on.
Oh, did I tell you it automatically syncs your Facebook calendar to your Hotmail? So I had to go delete that one by one, or else my other phones will give me a notification every single f**king day because it's someones birthday.
Windows Phone is just filled with shit like this. You want a different tile colour than the ones we have? Too bad. You want notifications from Whatsapp/Kakao/Viber? Well too bad. You want Instagram? Here how about hundreds of half-assed copied apps instead.
Honestly, it's not going to boom. They will always stay behind iOS and Android. Especially since Microsoft is so keen on forcing manufacturers to follow it's design rules (Stuck with the dual core Krait's + Adreno 220-320's).
In the minds of consumers, Microsoft/Windows stands for shitty operating system that crashes all the time, people don't think good things when they hear Micoroft or Windows. They;re trying to pull an Apple when they clearly do not have the power to do so.

Microsoft is in cahoots with FB. That explains the calendar syncing, which my SII does as well btw. As for the contacts, Android did the same thing to me. Any contact I had on my GMail, which wasn't much, was automatically synced with my contacts. Now I don't mind as much, because when I got my SII, it wasn't to mod. I didn't buy Android over iOS or WP7 because of rooting. My only reasons for the SII; I love the way it looks physically, it's processing power is good, wasn't too expensive, and it wasn't Apple.
Honestly, had I found a WP7 that looked as sexy as my phone, I'd have gotten that. Because in the end, all I use my phone is for phone calls, text, camera, web, and the occasional app. If I want to hack, I'd rather spend my time learning how to write code.

My SGSII, SGS III, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 never did any of this and neither did my iPhone 4S, 5. In fact, none of my previous devices has done this.
Calender would never sync'd unless I'd specifically told it to and neither would my contacts.
