QUOTE (Exqlusive @ Today, 8:09 AM)
The thing with WP8/Windows Phone in general is that your stuck with whatever Microsoft gives you, which isn't a whole lot.

Android has rooting and ROM's, iOS has jailbreaking and WP8, well, it has nothing. Another point is that both Android and iOS have huge developer/community interests so you always have something new cropping up (a new rom/kernel, a new jailbreak tweak etc.)

With Windows Phone, if you don't like what you get, well tough luck. You can't do shit with it. You can try Googling your problems, but the only answers you'll find "You can't do that yet on Windows Phone".

Windows Phone fails to do all the little things too. It seems so frustrating to use it as a daily device. Like for example, what idiot decided not to have an option to turn off auto-rotate. It's so stupid. To turn it off, I have to search on XDA for one app, which I have to download to my computer, then I have to get a developers account from Microsoft and register my phone with them, then I have to download a shitload of SDK's and software, and then finally I can have the ability to turn off auto-rotation.

Another annoying "feature" is the people's hub. When you first start the phone, it asks for a Hotmail account/a Microsoft account, alright that seems fine, but what it doesn't tell you is that it adds all your freaking contacts from Hotmail, Facebook etc., so now I have 1000 contacts on my phone, none of which I want and none of which are actually my goddamn contact list. There is no way to fix this either, the only option is to completely reset the phone to factory and re-do the whole process with an email address that has no contacts, and then add in your actual email later on.

Oh, did I tell you it automatically syncs your Facebook calendar to your Hotmail? So I had to go delete that one by one, or else my other phones will give me a notification every single f**king day because it's someones birthday.

Windows Phone is just filled with shit like this. You want a different tile colour than the ones we have? Too bad. You want notifications from Whatsapp/Kakao/Viber? Well too bad. You want Instagram? Here how about hundreds of half-assed copied apps instead.

Honestly, it's not going to boom. They will always stay behind iOS and Android. Especially since Microsoft is so keen on forcing manufacturers to follow it's design rules (Stuck with the dual core Krait's + Adreno 220-320's).

In the minds of consumers, Microsoft/Windows stands for shitty operating system that crashes all the time, people don't think good things when they hear Micoroft or Windows. They;re trying to pull an Apple when they clearly do not have the power to do so.

They're minor issues to me. I can live with auto-rotate, calendar syncs (or the lack thereof, since I barely use Hotmail, and if I can opt not to sync then I guess it's all good), and the absence of certain apps I don't really need.

sticking with the same hardware? It doesn't matter if WP8 is more optimized than iOS and Android, but I don't know if it is so I won't comment on it. But it's bad news for the flagship models though like the Lumia 920 - top of the line should be top of the line, right? :x

I guess the future of WP8 will depend on Microsoft and their 3rd party policy.

Bought me AAA batteries so that that dinky flashlight thing on my Nerf gun will work.

While some people like the clean trunk look, I've always felt that my trunk looked a little bereft of detail and a little too spartan. I've been imagining lots of combinations for the back for years but I finally settled and bought myself some frivolous trunk bling that will totally add 5 million extra horsepower and put those Ferraris in their place.

First piece came in:

Normally where that goes there is a little metallic finish NISSAN badge:
SPOILER

I don't mind when people debadge their cars to get a sleeker look or are going for a certain style but I get frustrated with people who admit they debadge their GT-Rs because they're embarrassed their performance car is 'just a Nissan'. I didn't want to buy an overpriced OEM replacement for my Nissan badge but the Nismo badges available were all the modern design and all the classic NISMO emblem badges were just stickers and I wanted something classier than that. I found the above in Thailand. I don't know if it's official from Nissan or not but it's the only metal badge I've seen for the classic logo. I'll torture test it and if it doesn't tarnish after a year of battle hardening, I'll get more for the blokes at the shop that were interested. Just waiting on the other fine piece and my car's ass accouterments will be completed. I'll post that when it's done!

@Riisssaaa: God that looks gorgeous... If you ever visit the US can you and my wife go shopping? It's hell getting her to buy anything elegant since she thinks it's impractical. And yet she insisted on marrying me- A man whose entire life mostly consists of pulling off one impossibly crackpot idea after another. I don't know of many people who can accuse me of being a practical person. fear2.gif

The other half of my trunk bling arrived. After over 7 years the badging on my car is complete again at last.

Decided to go for a more modern R34 badge to go with the other modern badging like the R35 GT-R badge and the classic NISMO emblem burnished metal badge. The thing is, the real badge (as in not a sticker) with the red II in it was only in stock as a certain piece that I had to buy whole:

@The J
My mum is like that! She will absolutely not buy anything that isn't
practical. Her only trade-off is quality. It gets quite difficult getting
her gifts that she'll like haha.

Perhaps you can convince your wife that something might not be
so practical but instead has integrity through it's quality?
(Can't argue against quality when it's put forward properly!)
(Something of great quality is practical.... in a way.)

> Nice looking well-fitted clothes makes one look better and
generally better received by people around them. (Absolutely true!)
(People generally love judging others by their appearance...)

>Better made shoes are more comfortable to walk in usually and
will last longer~ good shoes take you to good places!
