QUOTE (imprezagc8 @ Today at 10:36 AM) | well power sunday kind of sucked. long line for wmmt3, mostly everyone not accepting, some people hogging machines. i didn't even get to play one game of max. tune.
i just sat down on id and played that all day. |
Wanted to battle some more after my first two races that morning; problem is, the guys on there were either folks who'd either easily leave me behind or "Battle Rejects"; which left me almost no choice but dress-ups and Story Mode. Basically put, that's a helluva disproportional cost/reward ratio.
ELMO (I think - the kid w/ the scraggly brown hair) showed up. Thought he was gonna screw me up, but he ended up jostling someone else's chair and breaking the focus of two players (the jostled one included). That aside, he was unusually calm (or mild, depending on PoV) - which I don't consider a good thing... Inside of MT or out, he's one bag of trouble...

QUOTE (Kona Koffee @ Today at 9:47 AM) | neko aint half bad. but i gave him an idea of what he couldve done for the tourney. its too late for him but its a pretty good idea i think. i have to admit that the tournament is kinna sketchy. |
I second that - he came up to me with the idea, kinda put me on the spot. The whole arrangement seems almost like the last two tourneys (including the non-existent 2nd), if not much different than a few details.
If I'm not mistaken, the last two were "every man for himself", meaning "4 players enter, 1 player wins = 3 players get off"; with the teams thing, it's "4 players enter, 2 players win = 2 players get off". It might be a little unfair towards other players by skill level since it also means fewer players rotating and 1 team can literally hog the machine all day and leaving only two stations available for use (and it being likely that they'll probably refuse) - something that was complained about for/at the last Power Sunday.

Well we can make our own tournament. I'm sure we can host it at funs, but we just can't tell THEM about it. They might try and take a cut out of the winnings.
I say we have a double elimination 1v1 tournament. 32 player cap, although I highly doubt 32 players will come to play. So I'm guessing 16 will be a good number. $5-$7 entry fee. ALL entry fee goes to the winning pot. The pot will be divided for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 70%, 20% and 10% respectively. Since we have four machines, it should make the tournament decently fast.
As for deciding which courses will be played, I thought about having all courses with evey route in a bag and having players flip a coin to see who chooses. They will pick the course randomly in the bag. Then the course gets taken out of the bag so that it doesn't get repeated. If we don't have enough courses, then we can put the courses back in the bag and repeat. ALSO another rule for Osaka. For fairness, you can not go through the same route TWICE. You must go a different route everytime you make a loop. For example, when you first start, someone chooses the left route. When you make the loop back to that area again, you have to take the right route. Same for other places. I thought about this just for fairness.
One race. Winner goes winners bracket, loser goes loser bracket.
That's what I propose.
