I you guys (members) are going to warn/cry about everyone who revives a old thread why not just LOCK all old threads so no one can post in them?

Its just a suggestion...

well it would be sort of difficult, not to mention annoying, for all the mods to go back and close all the old threads. but sometimes if people want to know more about something, and they see that its locked/closed, they'll automatically assume its completely redundant and not even bother looking into it and create a new thread which would make an even bigger problem.

Reviving or bumping threads are completely fine as long as it is relevant to the topic at hand. Topics do not expire. Bumping old threads doesn't automatically make it bad. But from what I observed here when people bumping threads, it is usually idiotic, completely irrelevant, spam and/or old news that's been already posted.

Hope that helps.

i agree, most of the time when threads are being revived, the posts are very idiotic such as that ken_r34 guy quoting something that someone said more than a year ago and disagreeing with him. thats just plain stupid.

how about a thread that tells people what not to post about for example: specific question, duping, card sales, etc.. so people can actually see what topics have been closed to avoid the same threads being closed over and over.. just a humble suggestion.

Reminder notes have been added in both fast reply and the regular reply window. The note will only show if the last post in the topic is older than 30 days.

All threads are archived. None are deleted. Important threads are pinned at the top of the page

Yeah, but we won't kiss your ass.

I'M KIDDING!

I don't think a shout box will be a good idea. Might start some flame wars.

In my experience with forums , if a shoutbox has the right restrictions and is monitored correctly then it becomes an invaluable tool in increasing the life of the forum .

It allows members to instantly chat with others instead of continuously posting in threads and waiting for a reply.

Thats not to say that some flames wars wont break out, thats just human nature.

But in essence shoutboxes are very handy to create a flow in the forum and increase community spirit.

If you want to be with the forums for a while, I suggest there shouldn't be a shout box.

lol wats that supposed to mean?

im not trying to start "trouble". Their called suggestions for a reason.

in any case im not gonna go off topic.

Quick Edit :

How about forum shirts !!! for players to wear when there racing with the forum home page on them and their name.

Members can pitch in some cash and have their own shirts made.

Is that a veiled threat? If it is I have no tolerance for it. Especially since the man has a point. A shoutbox might be good for clearing up some of the garbage posts that crop up in the threads about random BS most readers might not care about.

I wasn't threatening. What if we DID get the shoutout and somebody got banned and wanted to... oh wait.

The shoutbox wouldn't be a bad idea IF it was for members only and there are restrictions.

Sorry, I was looking at the glass half full.

Shoutbox disabled for the moment until I can find a better way to implement it on the board. The way it was setup took up too much head room and I wasn't happy with it. You can still find the shoutbox by clicking Chat on the top menu for the meantime.
