with auto, sometimes, when you lose speed, it doesnt gear down for a bit and takes a while to respond so you lose quite gained from the lower gear when you can gain it back faster with manual.

I also started off using AT, all the way through WMMT2, but switched over to MT when I transferred my card to WMMT3 when I took my boyfriend's advice. It took some getting used to at first, but I find it much more fun and challenging than AT where you're reduced to just gas and brake pedals. Besides, you can always switch back with the options menu. My advice: find someone to teach you how use MT in the game instead of just randomly fishing someone to figure it out. This way they can provide you a guideline for shift points, etc.. When I started out, my boyfriend would either shift for me if I didn't notice something and thus learn from my mistake, or he would tell me what gears I can use for certain turns in the game. Since then, I've figured it out some things for myself and I find the game to be more challenging because I get to try new things instead of 'brake here, gas here, brake again' and so on. Plus, I've improved from being a below average player to an average player. XD
