after seeing the IRL Takumi Takahachi (or was it Takashi? I forgot), Here are a few realizations that we must keep in our hearts about Supido no Densetsu: "It's not about being the fastest or the best there is. That doesn't matter. Who understands the true meaning of speed; not by the numbers, is considered truly the fastest." "If you only care about numbers that you get; then you don't have a bond with your car that you claim to have." "You'd stay with your car no matter how many odds are against you because you trust your car. If you keep on switching cars; then you car doesn't bear a heart. It's just a machine." "Teams are excuses to become top tier with the least effort as you share it with others. It takes a lone wolf to become truly the fastest." "If someone doesn't care about the fact that figures support your victory; you don't understand what speed truly is. You have no appreciation for it; you let your greed overcome you." Explanations for this proves why: 1. Seiji Tsuchiya uses an underhanded car and still runs with it; the Evo has bad points on the Wangansen and Seiji still persists with it. 2. Tomogashi Kitsumoro continues to move forward although hated for not representing the country in a country-representing event, holding his head up high. He will never replace his R34 for any other machine as the continuous trials he face with it proves his trust in his car. 3. Daiki Akiyama is able to stay with the most powerful of opponents on Akiyama Chronicles. 4. Keisuke Mamoru doesn't race just anyone. 5. Tsubasa Aramaki goes on running despite the entire set of disadvantages that lie before him. 6. Kujira Kuroyama lets people misunderstand him as they have no idea what they're actually trying to prove against Kujira. The only ones who understand him appreciate life & speed the same way he does. 7. Midnight Cinderella sees racing in a totally different light; same as with Chiaki Miyazaki. Controversial quotes to consider: 1. The GT-R35. We know that the R35 is the new Supercar Killer; though already a Supercar in its own right. In the world of Supido no Densetsu; that seems downright unfair, no? Yet, some characters drive it. Here are possible explanations to it: - Raymond Yamazaki uses an R35 in order to boost popularity and sales in his tuning shop - a common objective for establishments who want to rise in the industry by countless updating
- Kitana Tioseco uses an R35 to represent the common individual who goes with the crowd and relies on the new age for their ease & functionality; not for the bond made or the trust they had. (Kitana's awakening has ended by Hachioji's era where her love for her Lamborghini Diablo slowly dies and goes on updating to the R35)
- Keisuke Mamoru uses an R35 not because it's powerful or because it can easily reach 380-400 km/h instantly. He uses an R35, serving it as a guidepost to aid Tomo. For him, the only way to prepare him is by helping him surpass the new generation with the aid of the old (considering that the R34 is old news / has bad rep / overused / overwhored)
2. Not becoming part of the popular crowd. The cars that the Speed Legend Characters use aren't popular or underrated in a sense. Some used to have the limelight but dies right after. Here are a couple of examples: - Mazda RX-8. Nimble & light. Used to be a people's favorite. But is impractical against the other monster machines tuned beyond the X8's capability.
- Nissan Skyline R34. There are more R35's nowadays. Simply because they're better than the R34. But the R34's a fighter; not everyone realizes that.
- Toyota AE86. True, it's popular; but it's because of a well known franchise *coughInitialDcough*. It's potential is highly limited and when taken to the Wangan or the circuit against a class that is higher and could outclass even a well tuned 86; the 86 is bound to fall and the crown must be handed over.
- Lancer Evolution (8). Whored. Whored to the sense that in actuality (let's take GT5 as a closest counterpart), the finest tuning that you can do with it while maintaining its heart & character is like the 86, highly limited; with some traits that you might dislike (bad power curve, as pointed by !mma_N00B). The only way to utilize the Evo's other strong points is by simply; like in a person - a transplant. You let go of the natural heart that the Evo contains and you replace it with an artificial one that has more power and ability; yes faster but it doesn't feel as united as a normal Evo (hence the bad power curve and limited speed it has; again proven by !mma_N00B on GT5). Upon doing that conversion; the Evo is practically dead. It's better but it's no longer considered an Evolution; not even if it carries the same body.
- Silvia S14 and SW20 MR2. Totally underrated machines that no one gave a chance to let these machines prove their worth. As I've tested out; the MR2, for just 440hp, can do 400km/h on a well planned slipstream.
Now, do you know why I don't put excessive R35s, Cerberas, Ford GTs, Corvettes, Vipers, Veyrons, SLR McLarens, any other supercar for that matter in the mix? The cars that those no one gave a chance or care in the world; don't know that they're capable of at all. Some are exceptions to the rule like the S7 of Katerina (dunno with !mma_N00B on this one though), Adrianna's McLaren (dangerous and unstable) & Chizuru's XJ220 (for a supercar, limited to jsut less than 700 hp). Yes, they all have limited potential but that's the beauty of it. Their limited capabilities are foundations for you to build on to make them surpass the unreachable. QUOTE (Gunma's 34 @ 1 hour, 45 minutes ago) | updated it Rin. I wanna hear your thoughts on this. (I'm totally whoring the PS3 now because I fear it might get sent out tomorrow *sniffle* so sorry if I can't make it on time with the Tsubasa VS Tomo/Daiki/Seiji/Keisuke persona comparison. |
Well, take all the time you need. Since I am currently celebrating with my family...I too have very limited access to what I can do for the project in the current circumstance. As for the SL Philosophy on the edited part; Raymond indeed has a very good reason to use his R after all; since I hardly believe it's for his own reputation; instead more for preserving his business. For Kitana...I knew someday she's probably going to favor the R more than her own Lambo...but all for the better again. For Keisuke...that's definitely one good way to put it together...now that I think about it. No better way to guide a car than using a more powerful generation for that car. For the cars; I honestly think bandwagons or not; as long as one is able to understand the machine fully; with both mind and body and even at a point; soul, you can make many impossible things turn into possible. Transplanting a consciousness of another "you" to the machine itself while driving as hard as you could...you slowly but surely came to understand more on your own machine. Once you've interacted with it at a very certain degree, you eventually feel the machine's slowly becoming a part of you. The last part is actually one of the thoughts that Tsubasa himself continued to uphold with...to appreciate the beauty of the supposed limits on a machine; yet once interacted and get to know with the machine's overall enough; you eventually managed to break through the boundaries that were set on the machine itself; creating infinite possibilities. Here's what I have in mind for one of SSS Tsubasa's personal quotes regarding about machine limits: "If an old, beaten up untouched car that everyone laughs at...which was supposed to go no faster than even 150 km/h...all of the sudden traveled beyond 151 km/h and then to 152 km/h after being driven even more...to the point of exceeding 180 km/h...then who are to judge what is really the supposed "limit" of one machine that is driven by human strength and will?
Once your hands on the steering and your legs on the pedals; eyes on the mirrors and gauges; you are automatically linked partially with the machine itself; running along with how you want it to run.
It was the thoughts of human desires that either limits or break the limits of a machine's so-called limiter within the machinery builds.
In the end...it's all about a driver's desire and judgment on their own machines. If you think the car has its limits; then it will surely run like how you suppose it is. However if you drive with a thought of wanting to surpass that limit; all you need is to wish for it strong enough; and the car will slowly but surely answer your desires.
Machines that are linked to human senses are already considered machines without limits, as long as the driver knows how to surpass that limit with a strong will and wish."Well then; I'd wait for your persona comparison tomorrow~~ have fun with the PS3.
