not related but apparently someone started seeding the original movie again because mine got to 100% somehow afrer months of being at 73%. and i am now seeding as well, so thats something...
 i havnt watched it but i know it doesnt have subs. |

I don't speak japanese, I can't speak Japanese. This is what I could get started from watching both the movie and the series at the same time. I literally just started last night and did a bit more today. I'm just wanting to get the ball rolling for someone more familiar with subbing!

If I sub it, it will be MKV format most likely. You can always just extract the sub file from the MKV using MKVextract or equivalent. Separate video/sub files is so 2005. 
Uh...what? Did you just totally miss this whole thread, or what? 
Please don't. I shiver to think what the subs for a Japanese film would look like when written by someone without a firm grasp of the English language.

This movie sucks.
It's so inaccurate in so many ways... In it: Reina drives a red R34, not a grey BNR32. Her Photographer drives a yellow F355, not a white Testarossa. Akio drives a red Z32 instead of a maroon Z31. His Mechanic friend drives a white FD3S instead of a white FC3S. Blackbird does not have a front lip. Wangan always seems to be carless and empty. The car seen in the junkyard is a 260Z 2+2, but the car he gets is a 240Z Two Seater. The car that crashes in all crash scenes isn't even a Z. Akio is always so angry looking, which he is not in the anime. And for the most part... IMO... Reina is highly unattractive. |

That's the problem of turning a manga/anime into a live action movie. It's not easy as it looks. Think of it, there's budget costs, the rarity of the cars and finding the right characters that just looks exactly like the Manga (which is impossible). As for the empty Wangan, well there are health and safety regulations to look for. So making a car movie like Bullit, Vanishing Point or even the original Italian Job is really difficult nowadays. |

just finihed watching the movie. BIGGEST JAP FAIL EVER. My god these people cant act their way out of a paper bag. Like seriously it had almost no resembles to the anime or manga, hell did they even race at all?

Then it fits the comic! :3 I kid, I kid. Honestly, I can understand most of the car changes and didn't mind too much. I just didn't think it built to a very good climax. The acting wasn't particularly good either... As for people asking for subs, you're not missing much. It follows the comic/anime quite faithfully. Just watch the first few episodes of the latter. It's pretty much the same thing. |

not be the oddball out, but i liked all of the girls in this movie. especially Reina... her voice was cute, and i am not the type to like the hot super fine bombshells, so maybe that's why. plus the sister has some cute eyes and mouth on her. hehehe

Reina had MASSIVE eyes in the movie. That was her only downside... from some angles, especially when Akio`s mechanic friend noticed her on the machine, she was beautiful. I never ever thought the sister of old Akio was pretty. She pursed her lips too much, and for a Japanese girl, her face was very very wide, not narrow and slim. |

to each his own. id still take all of em. i dont wanna be thread jacking, but yeah this was an A-OK adaptation of the anime. i wish they had of stayed a lil closer to the anime lines tho. overall this and ID are my 2 fave movies so far!

If I were still admin I'd ban you on the spot just 'cause. Maybe that's why I'm not admin anymore, hahahaha. Fail. To those saying that the movie followed the Anime/Manga faithfully, I must disagree. I've already posted my reasoning for that. To those saying that the movie was horrible and inaccurate, please keep in mind that it wasn't really designed to be. A movie is an INTERPRETATION of the original work. It's not a 1:1 copy, nor will it ever be. If that's really what you expected going into it, then you were fooling yourself. I mean, you could've seen by the trailer that it wasn't going to be. Come on, now. I invite all of you who said the movie sucked to go watch the original 1990 film. Then come back to me and tell me this one sucked. |

i actually loved this one! this CLEARLY shows all the good Parking/Rest Areas on the shuto and tomei expressways in japan! i loved every minute of this movie!!!
