So there seems to be an excellent anime going around lately, it's called Eden of the East. There are as many as 10 fansub groups currently subbing Eden of the East, and I will soon choose one group to watch then archive.

Review of Eden of the East. This was written by xeonocrisis over at Anime-Source, who's currently an English teacher in Japan.

its a pretty good series so far. the drama and suspense is just right, character designs and animation fluid and amazing, and voice acting on a pretty good level.

try watching from GG. pretty good fansubs

Either I'm watching the wrong thing, or I'm not getting the point of the anime. My next episode is 06 too. I get that Takizawa is in some random sort of game where he's given 10 bil yen and that 2 people died already and that he lost his memory. However other than that....what's this anime about?

I'm downloading from GG and they are pretty good.

Its mainly about finding who is he and what has he done currently.

...I just want the phone damnnit. If my phone was indicated with 10 billion dollars and all I have to do was call Juiz for an order, I would order everything in my fantasy.

No it's 10 bil yen, but yes you can't convert it to cash. It's pretty weird how he can buy a shopping mall and stuff via the phone, but yet he can't use it as cash.

@Remie. I still don't get why it's such a good anime...Time to read xenocrisis's review on it.

I'd recommend this. The story is interesting and I find it original. It makes me curious as to what actually happened. Can't wait to watch its finale movies.

I wish they sell those Selecao phone models. It would've been nice.

I still don't 100% understand what the story was about. Like I'd get lost sometimes and that's that. Maybe I should re-watch it with better subs....

They do make the Selecao phones. Apparently, NEC makes them.

^ I watched it a long time ago. Well, the phones were given by a person Outsider to 12 people and they're supposed to use the money allocated to save Japan. Everyone had to use the money for the purpose and misusing the money (like buying stuffs for own pleasure) will result in being killed by Supporter (someone Outsider appointed among 12 Selecao). At the end of the 'game', when someone actually manages to save Japan and 'win', the rest will be killed. So that serves as pressure to make everyone work fast.

I've been waiting for it since the last episode in the series. Very long wait indeed...

Hope the movies are released on schedule.

I'm a huge fan of this series (it's on top of my list of great great animes). I do think it's going to be a long wait for a dvd (more than 3 months maybe ?). But what I do know is that Paradise Lost (2nd film) is going to be delayed until March 2010. But the great thing is that they are going to make it longer. YAY but also NAY.

What sub group is good? I heard Dattebayo is already out, but gg should be better.

I've been watching gg subs in the series last year. I had no trouble understanding the subs, so I think it's all good. happy.gif

Dattebayo was good too (I watched their subs in Naruto), but I don't have any special preference to a particular group. Haven't noticed much difference anyway.

I've just finished watching the movie (with subs and in 720p, will download the full 1080p later) and it left me completely speechless. Everything is now much more clearer.
Some say that this movie was disappointing but do not hear a word from them. What you need to do is to rewatch all of the 11 episodes before watching the movie (I did that) and follow the story really closely because it can get confusing sometimes. What you need to look for in this movie is not the action (there's not a lot of it but there's a lot of talking) but the story like a detective searching for the truth and if you do that, it can surprise you and make you really excited about the next movie: Paradise Lost which I think will be out with subs around June. But I would recommend every one to watch Eden of the East. It's such a refreshing experience.
