no, it's all psychological... if you feel good about how your car looks, then you'd have a better driving mood, hence, you perform better...

it's similar to food and packaging...

you feel that food that looks good taste good...

I agree with this happy.gif

I believe that reason.
But then again, why would the site put up false information?
I'm kinda on the fence about this one, but for now, I'm more towards the "dress ups effect the cars"

dress up should have some sort of effect to your car, cause according to Namco, the main reason why the R35 has no dress up is because the car is presumed to be "perfect" and if u add dress up parts the car would be "imperfect" so they claim at both times dress up parts do and do not help your car... weird stuff...

Namco said the R35 was perfect? That's odd; I don't remember seeing that anywhere. Could you point that out?

It doesn't affect your performance or capability. But it definitely affects your steering.
To someone who says it doesn't mAtter than most likely their just able to adapt to matter what they run. But with some cars this is more obvious than others. I think the best example would be with the evo9. I had body kit c and wing by type of car. Then I switched to body a and 3d wing and the steering wheel on the machine was just way looser.

For car handling, heaviness and speed there are several things to look at.

Handling is effected purely by dress up and varies depending on what you put on. Different wheels causes different grip. Different kits cause different heaviness.
Heaviness is effected by the type of car you have, its dress up and the cars level and in some circles ghost coins.

Speed is only slightly changed by some dress up parts for the simple fact that you loose less speed with better handling and a lighter car.

Anyone who believes Namco's BS is an idiot. First Namco is just a producer the bigger company in front of the people who actually make the game. I have friend who hacks the game for a living making cards and he broke it down for me every part has variables and depending on how you drive your car those variables can change as well.
If you still don't believe this than case in point why would Namco make a rename card Ice*B??? Answer because they don't know what is exactly programmed into the game.
For people that say that dress up doesn't matter including the Japanese they either don't know or don't want you to know which is something I've come across while racing internationally. (Why would they want to tell you when they have an edge.)

In conclusion yes dress up does matter. But you can also change the nature of your car from there as well with driving win/loss records and other things like freak programming as well.
Dress up does effect your car but its more important in TA and especially important in aggressive Player Battles like 2v2.

@TACK: You seem to have the same views with this certain friend of mine, he also thinks that dress up is more on performance than looks.

Although I don't believe in most of the stuff he believes laugh.gif

Ice B was not made by namco.

Ice B was created in MT2 or MT3 i believe using a specific cloning technique discovered by players. Then the card was pretty much sold all over the world. To solve this problem, namco made the name Ice B banned in DX+ and therefore when you transfer an Ice B card over you must change the name which makes the card renameable.

first off, i think some of the people arguing for the 'Yes' side should be more worried about practice and refinement rather than dress-up parts.
conveying the message of dress-up being of real value to anyone other than a top-tier player is the wrong message to be conveying.

secondly, if one setup was agreed to be the 'best' by the majority of the best players on earth, everyone who knew about it would be using it, and i'd say you have a point.
but there clearly is no consensus on which setup is 'best', so it can only be concluded that dressing-up in a certain manner is a matter of personal preference.

my point is, whether or not it happens to be true, 99% of the time the difference is somewhere between negligible and non-existent.
the point of dress-up is to dress-up, and i surely hope it stays that way.

when a basketball player undergoes a change of scenery and moves to a city that they think is best for their future, they will be more motivated to perform.
when they are forced to move to a city they know they won't enjoy playing in, the opposite is true.
some players thrive in big cities with bright lights, while others thrive in smaller markets with less expectations. i feel it is a similar case when it comes to dress-up in mt.

Dress up never mattered. It's you being pure unluckly that your EVO9 with Aero B and Carbon bonet with duct hopelessly lost in a ramfest against my Aero A stock bonet EVO9. Yeah it's true, what've you been thinking about?

Also, what's dressup about actually? I use a R35 SpecV as my main car.

Well, im sorta for/against this thing.

I have my rx-8 set up with a TA set up. I dont expect to become instantly good with it. If it works, it works, if it doesnt then atleast my car still looks sexy.

I love people who blame their shit driving on their set up laugh.gif

Aero A doesn't actually look good to me either. I'm more a fan of Aero C (WRC Aero set), but I'm currently using Stock aero for the sake of balanced performance.

It's all down to preference when it comes to looks. Personally I cannot accept the weird lights of Aero B as well, so I will not use it no matter how good or bad it is.

Indeed. Much less money wasted on the infinite "How can I lose like this? I must change my dress up parts!" loop, plus the car itself performs quite nicely.

If namco says it doesnt affect the car performance then it doesn't.

its Funny how noobs spread such a rumor of parts affecting the performance of the car and not even with proof just cause they thought they did...

And its still funny that its said like 3 times in their site that it does NOT improve performance and people still think it does.. peoples lack of common sense or just plain stupidity? w00t2.gif w00t2.gif w00t2.gif w00t2.gif

It does not IMPROVE performance.
