I also resumed playing GT3 on the PS2, though the vehicles are very expensive. Still fun, regardless. I stopped playing GT4, since the tire wear for the Gran Turismo World event was too great for me to stay in 1st, thus not being able for me to win. I played GT PSP due to its custom soundtrack feature (even though I had to unlock it) and later played GT5 last year when I transferred all my cars from GT PSP to GT5.

Download this, you're gonna need it.

But first, to ensure good recording quality, go to Volume Control, then to Options, then choose Recording instead of Playback (or choose the driver responsible for recording), and put the recording slider somewhere at the 2nd level at the bottom.

EDIT: NVM, I thought you use emulators.

ePSXe v1.70 works for me (win7 64bit) did you try that?
