Jee... I wonder how much longer till I can beat story mode.

My gc8, when the hp is set at max - goes to 815.

its 100 stories to get full tuned (825hp)

so if you're unshaded you'll get the "special" meter. easy way to tell if you just look on the card, if the symbols on your card (stars or whatever) aren't filled in then its unshaded.

I Like special or normal, I seem to be more accurate with special meter rather than namco meter.

For me...
namco Racing meter >= Stock meter >>>>> Special meter (Generally referred as "Compass" in Hong Kong)

In some occasions the red light of the namco Racing meter comes in handy, and it looks good too. But on some cars you'll want to stick with the stock one....

The red light is pretty much useless on rotary-engine powered cars (RX-7 FC, RX-7 FD, RX-8, Cosmo) though, since these cars give off a special sound at the same time that the red light should be on.

Namco Meter if the car has one, since it's now considered lost treasure laugh.gif

Otherwise Normal Meter is best looking (I did marvel at the Special Meter when it first came out, but eventually I got sick of it).

IMO, special meters tell you shift earlier than usual.
Normal meter ftw!

i think its because it follows auto patterns. Like i did TA in osaka before and i chose auto because i really wanted to focus on my lines. I noticed that it was always undershifting and my accel and hadnling got worse.
