QUOTE (Jerry Liu @ 10 minutes, 31 seconds ago) | I don't see why anyone would wanna be a mod. Why have the trouble and responsibility to watch over threads and close them when you can just sit back and let other people do it themselves? Mod, plz close! lol. Do I remind you of anyone? We have something similar to what you guys mentioned in another forum I'm on, its called Forum Boss. Anyway, basically one guy gets appointed boss of that forum, they cant issue warnings or ban people, but they have control over topics (lock, pin etc). It's nothing really that big. It's nice having something to do with my day other than sit here waiting for a mod to come on so I can tell them that bad thread is bad and close.

^ that doesn't mean you're qualified to be a moderator it just means you don't have a life. Moderators aren't just net jockeys but balanced individuals.

QUOTE (ImmortalDrifter @ 17 minutes, 59 seconds ago) | How was that spam? I'm being on topic, when it comes to moderation.
I don't know about GT3 RS, but I'm being f**king serious!
Why have a guy, who, hypothetically, becomes a mod just because of some damn petition, when there's another guy that's willing to do it for years? |
Because in civilized society, one man doesn't just apply for work then declare that simply because he wants the job he should be working it and is qualified for it. Especially a position in which unfair advantage can be taken on individuals whose voice may be unpopular, to say that you want to be a 'Nazi' may not be the best way to iterate your point. Moderation isn't about authority. Moderation is about preventing upheaval, misuse, and abuse. It's a thankless job that when you do it right, no one knows you did anything at all. Geo has the support of the people. That's something that has to be considered. If you have a moderator who the people like, it makes it easier for them to accept his/her actions. Politics at its finest. Blame whatever you want. One way or the other, kicking and screaming about how you always wanted the job won't acquire it. When you understand that, maybe you'll be ready to join the team.

No.
The J brought up a good point. The name moderator means everything in moderation, to ease all situations. Moderators should never use the power to "prove a point." They are not here to oppress the members. The best moderators are those who can blend in well.

I don't know what you were talking about.
Can you really say it with a straight face that you weren't just trying to troll? I mean who think like that?
I am willing to be the CEO of Microsoft, so I should get that position.
We can do better than that in the logic department, come on guys.

I simply want to contribute more to WME rather than just sit there. It's like I'll be here 24/7 (because even I have a life), but being on the other side of the world, I can do work that other's wouldn't have time to do probably because they're sleeping. Dedication = (Y)
