how do i fix it?

Orz i just realized this was a gt5 only thread. sorry. but still, if anyone could answer it id be grateful <3

Do you have the Slim PS2 or older PS2? Or are you running on the reverse compatible PS3?

slim ps2.

Those systems are commonly known for having trouble running disks that were made before the release of the Slim PS2, but that doesnt apply here.

Im unsure when the CD was produced but I have friends that all have troubles with their newer GT4 copies on any Slim PS2. I have both old and Slim at my house and I have experimented with what they claim and know the issues your having.

I got my GT4 the day it was released and I have no issues on any system. I dunno if this will help, but thats what I know about this common GT4 copy issue.

also i realized that that little round thing (no idea what its called) where you put the cd on. when i looked under it i saw that copper wire is sticking out of it :\ I think it snapped out but i have no idea how to put it back in.

The Red Bull X1 officially revealed! The fastest machine in the game and in the world!
http://eu.gran-turismo.com/gb/news/d14918.html
QUOTE
Sony Computer Entertainment today revealed details of a fantasy racing car built using very real technologies. The X1 Prototype is the answer to the ‘What if’ dream of a world where racing car design is no longer limited by regulation. Forged by Polyphony Digital, working with world-class racing car constructor Red Bull Racing and aerodynamics expert and racing car design genius Adrian Newey, the result goes far beyond the startling new look. If the performance of test driver Sebastian Vettel in a shakedown run at the Suzuka Circuit is to be believed, the driving experience, available exclusively through Gran Turismo®5 on PlayStation®3, will be unbeatable.

As with all design masterpieces, the Red Bull X1 has been through several iterations. The starting point was a low drag single seat wing car with a glass canopy and covered wheels, powered by a forced induction engine. The result was a startling set of figures; 1,483hp at 15,000rpm, a top speed of 400kmh and up to 6G of lateral G-force. However under the expert eye of Newey and driven by his passion to realise the dream, the initial concept then took a big step forward. He proposed the use of ‘Fan Car’ technology - last seen and rapidly banned from F1 in the late 70s - where a fan is used to force air out from underneath the car, lowering the air pressure creating a huge amount of downforce.

A redesign of the car showed its value on the track where traditional low speed corners could be taken at significantly higher speeds. The new figures showed a maximum lateral G force exceeding 8G, pushing the limits for the human body, and a top speed of more than 450kmh. The killer combination of low air resistance due to body styling, glass canopies and full tire cowlings; increased low speed down-force courtesy of the fans; and stability at high speed due to front and rear wings and rear diffuser, are what brought about this result.

For a nervous design team the last stage of the journey was the shakedown test. Enter Sebastian Vettel who, on his first run, slashed more than 20 seconds off the course record on the Suzuka Circuit.

As Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing puts it: “The results were thrilling. X1 is about evolution. Delivering the optimum combination of tested technologies in a single integrated design. This would be the future of racing were we not bound by regulations, but one that is achievable today. And as Sebastian has shown, it is about devastating speed coupled with real handling control. Today thanks to PlayStation®3 and Gran Turismo we can test drive the future.”

Kazunori Yamauchi, President, Polyphony Digital Inc and creator of the Gran Turismo series commented: “X1 sees the marriage of virtual and real worlds as we explore the boundaries of our technology and aesthetic senses. The X1 Prototype Project has been motivated by curiosity and passion, powerful forces that brought together the best the world has to offer in design, physics simulation, racing car product technology and driving.”

Welcome to the personification of the Dream for Speed, to the marriage of imagination, of expertise and of technology. Welcome to a unique combination of Gran Turismo and Red Bull realised in the X1 Prototype Project.

Gran Turismo 5 will contain more than 1000 perfectly recreated cars ranging from the latest supercars to the cars of NASCAR and WRC. Standing proud will be the fastest car in the game - and one of the fastest to ever leave the drawing board - the Red Bull X1. Earn your chance to drive the Red Bull X1 when Gran Turismo 5 goes on sale later this year.

Although Im no fan of made up cars:

The design and concept of this car is awesome, its even cooler that downforce figures of this car is provided to make it seem to have a even more realistic spec. Using the vacuum technology seen in the Chapparal 2J, it creates a unique progressive style downforce as it accelerates making it handle almost as well at 400km/h as it does at 200km/h which is something I caught in the video.

Although downforce is a double-edged sword and it only has a top-speed of 400km/h which isnt all too high for a 1,500hp lightweight monster.

The engine choice is very odd, a Twin-Turbo V6? 3000cc of displacement isnt far off from reality but the configuration and number of sylinders caught me off gaurd. Its kinda like a SUPER Nissan VG30DETT powerplant. LOL

Odd, but unique.

Yeah, 400km/h is not entirely fast for a car with that much HP and that light. But then again, this is all about massive acceleration. Not sheer top speed even though they say it could do more than 450km/h with a low drag setup.
For the engine, before the big reveal, CAR Magazine said that it has a turbine engine paired to a CVT gearbox (which is kinda like an automatic but different). Changing to a V6TT I think it would be better even though turbine engines are extremely reliable, they have some problems. Mainly it doesn't have engine braking. So when you brake, the turbine is at its full power which is not good. And 1500HP on a V6 is entirely possible. Before the turbo ban in F1, they manage to push up to 1500HP with 4 cylinder engines with over 71 PSI of boost pressure even going as far as shutting up the wastegate and using toxic substances to power up the engine.

it doesn't really matter when it comes now. All that matters is that it gets released. Because after it is released, life and social-ness will be gone.

Might pick up the new F1: 2010 and/or NFS hot pursuit to keep myself occupied.

and guess what? I'm back ! haha

We just asked Kazunori Yamauchi, the father of Gran Turismo, in an interview here at SEMA, the question on everyone's minds — when will GT5 finally be released? His response: "The discs are being stamped as we speak."

The picture above is Kazunori making a disc-stamping motion with his hands as he answered our query on the ever-shifting release date. We did talk about a number of different topics other than the release — and we'll have more coming shortly — but for the moment, we thought we'd at least bring you that response.

I must admit the Red Bull X1 does look fun to drive, but I'm most likely gonna stick to the F1 cars (if they still have the Ferrari F2007 in GT5 like they did in GT5P) and supercars.
