I saw my friend approach the last curve on story 58 slow, didn't bang, but Blackbird overtook him.
So too slow is bad as well.
But idk why the machine likes me. Whenever any of my friends ask me to do story 58, sometimes after they fail or before they even play it cos they don't want to lose, Blackbird will always be about 110m behind me when I approach that turn. I can even bang and still make it out alive.
The only time Blackbird was hounding my ass was on my main car, 28m behind me. But drifted at 815 no problem. Now every other car I play(my own or friends) somehow has the same effect as I experienced when tuning my new RGT where Blackbird just falls back 110m.
All runs were done at 815 so maybe it's a mechanism designed to aim at people who want to put more handling?

The more Rank u have the harder the a.i, also the higher number the story chapter, or loop part. the harder the a.i
All these factors come into play.. PLUS!!!! they block and get more aggressive (the a.i)

This is true because i play story mode quite often and as the story level increases, the level of difficulty increases.
The AI becomes more aggressive or faster when you reach higher level of story.
Rank also plays a part. The higher your rank is when playing story mode, the level of difficulty increases.
All these are based on my personal experiences. Don't believe, you can try to start off a new car and start anew.
The level of difficulty is so low but once you progress on to the next higher level in story mode, you'll find the AI faster and more aggressive.
[ Post merged on Dec 24 2012, 10:43 AM ] For story mode, i recommend 740 for C1, 780 for NBL, 800 for wangan.
So far i always use this settings for story mode and its quite reliable.
Take note that for VS battle in wangan course, you have to use 800-830 depending on course.
Only for story mode, you use less hp like 800 will do. Sure more than enough.
