Lets see who wins this match. Got an HKS type 2 surge tank no pop off valve. $1600. Too much you say?!?! Next come an HKS type 1 surge tank, wrinkle black $1200.

I don't mean to hijack, just a quick question since you obviously have some good experience with this setup. Would you be willing to post a picture of the intake to the Type 2? I have a Type 1, but it didn't come with the log charge pipe pictured below that is normally used. I'm curious what the inside of the Type 2 runner looks like.
My plan was to run the charge parallel to the plenum like in the type two. I'm worried about starving one of holes, unlike the above style which would obviously distribute the air evenly. if anyone gets one of these I have a pop off valve for it. I need to get on here more I was gonna send my type 1 out to mod it but that type 2 is snazzy!!

While I love the concept of these setups, jesus I could get 2-3 complete engines for the cost of one tank. Major props to the guys who have that kinda dough and determination to get it working.
