Played some more this weekend at Concord Round 1 and Castro Valley Golfland. Just mostly finishing up story mode to tune some cars and doing some ghost battles.

Took a few crowns at Golfland with my R34. Didnt have enough time to take the rest.

yeah, my patience isnt that great for story mode grinding. 20-30 races np, 40 no thanks; 60 n ty. it usually takes 3-4 visits for me to FT a car. though there were more than a few locations that were quiet enough to get some good potential progress. if i spend +4hrs doing same thing it does get a bit boring doing the same thing but i also do get those times where you are so frustratingly close to your goal that i MUST achieve it in that session. the most i ever spent in 1 arcade session was $40, $20-30 is the usual amount i spend on any given day though if its too busy $15 is sufficient if its peak usage for the machines.

though would it even work to have a JPN car mixed onto a banana pass with other ENG cars? i only ever played ENG versions before so cross compatibility is a bit confusing to me ATM.

anyways using my main cards in JPN MT6 is a non starter. there are around 1:2 ratio for arcades to 7/11 in Japan as far as distribution. im not sure about USA or other countries but the arcades have mostly died off around a decade ago in the areas im around ie Montreal Canada. there are only a handful of arcades few and far between and none have gone past MT5. there are some more retro ones that rarely if ever update the game selection. the one i go to locally keeps up most of the time but i dont think we'll ever get MT5DX, its more likely it'll jump to MT6 when its deemed time to do so.

getting a 3rd card that i can update to MT6 in Japan is fine but i cant do that to my main MT5 cards locally. it would isolate them in a version whose arrival is TBD at the very least. i do plan on going back to Japan again and i'll probably just go and get a 3rd card, bang out a FT car and save it for the next trip. the JCESE isnt the best car for me but i still like it alot and its a god damned tank .

EDIT: so i made a new card today, used 3 of my discards from my main card. put a R33 and JCESE on the card and left the 3rd discard open. got the R33 to story stage 40/700HP from a 600 hp car, got the JCESE to 620HP. will FT both of the cars then let the card sit around for a while, no sense in doing any body kits or wheels if its gonna be lost when it transfers to MT6 when i can do so. MT6 might even be a year away at minimum locally at this point. hopefully they put the EVO7 into MT6 so i can use it when the time comes.

id0 is even easier to ft as first game is free and all u have to do is just platinum on online vs and u level up to 50 or so (which is past ft spec)

then u reenter the game for your first time reward and your pretty much near ft (i think its spec 5 )

yeah thats a game that was close to my heart though it was stopped at AS4 in Canada. then i moved onto MT5. i still love to play IDv2-3 on the very few cabs that do remain locally. unfortunatley in the brief time i was there there werent many players on the cabs to VS, i did VS a newb and won 3 games but none with cards. i did visit the arcades midday but its the evening where you'd see more people there.

ID v2-3 has more attachment to me than ID0 but im not sure how it holds to me compared to MT5-6 at this point. i still have fun playing both which is the important thing. i might start a ID0 card when i go back there but there is no local arcade that will ever get the game (unless the owners give it a 2nd shot). though VSing a FT car with stock ID0 car is sufficient for the time being. that being said, i havent seen how they stack up in comparison in battle to ie MT5 280HP guest VS FT 760HP Fukuoka (any course) card. yeah

i do hope to visit Mikado game center on my next visit, saw it on YT and they might still have Soul calibur 2-3 there. none of those i came by in my trip had it but had even older games in stock.

EDIT: yeah ID0 is much more forgiving vs the full tune cars. stock run 20-30 KM/HR slower and shift into top gear faster that FT. its much more forgiving that being left in the dust 280HP vs +830HP. though given similar runs as seen on YT vid comparison there is a 29 second gap timing between stock and FT cars

played MT5 today as i was luckily in the general area. got my 3rd car R33 to FT, races 41-60 unshaded with normality title + aero kit A after beating story mode 60.

put a few story mode races on the Cosmo on the 3rd card also story 23-26. should be only 2 more sessions until its FT and my 3rd card is ready for the wait till i can bring it to MT6 on a trip next year.

Played some more at the Round 1 in Concord and Castro Valley Golfland this weekend.

Mostly just doing ghost battles with a few VS thrown in.

Finally took all the crowns at Castro Valley. Took C1, New Belt Line, Wangan, Yokohane, Yaesu, Minato, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka with my R34 and took Hakone and Mt. Taikan with my AE86.

I had to race F094S's ghost from Team EXPLOIT to get them. He's pretty fast. Took me many attempts to figure out the lines I needed to take to pass his ghost. The only one of his ghosts I didn't have trouble with was is Mt. Taikan one. I dont know if he was even trying on that run or not. He was very difficult to beat on the other courses. Osaka and Yaesu were very difficult in particular.

TRASH from San Jose apparently visited Castro Valley and took one of my crowns (Wangan) with his C6 'vette, so I had to take it back before I could finish what I started last week and take the rest of the crowns there.

Unlocked the NISMO sticker set for my R34, which combined with the silver paint job makes it look like a Z-Tune. Pretty nice!

I also now have green aura on my AE86 (whatever that means)

Also et another fellow WMMT fan named KAZDA (not sure if that was his username, sorry for my bad memory). He drove an FB RX-7. Cool car. We exchanged some tips for going fast on some courses and I gave him two of my discards (he had two banapasses).

- Finished 9th and 10th loop of JapCha since Saturday and Sunday on my BCNR33
- onwards to a path to SSSS on my BCNR33 that if my hunch on 250th JapCha win is right along with next 500th ghost win which could fetch me to SSS1
- probably going to do 120 story mode wins for the last rank up

played MT5 today. my trek to S9 isnt complete yet but i can see the path to it. i might hit S7 if i bother to do so.

played mostly JP challenge areas 152-163. the R33 is at A5 currently so i just need 14 more battle stars to hit 100, finish up to JPC 5, story mode 180. its still a fair amount to do but the path is clear.

DAFFY took all my crowns at the Golfland sad.gif He's way too fast for me to take them back.

Ran into AKEBO (sorry if I forget the spelling) from IDOLHELL yesterday. I raced a few of their teammates in San Jose not long ago. TRASH apparently took one or more of my crowns before DAFFY took the rest (and his). I managed to get revenge successfully against TRASH and a few other players who beat my ghost, but not DAFFY.

At least I managed to snap this photo last weekend before DAFFY de-crowned me!

Also while all the Maxi cabs were in use I played some Initial D Arcade Stage for the first time in I don't even know how long. Pretty underrated game, wish it had the same kind of support that WMMT does

- managed to play 50+ games mostly on JapCha and 1 story mode stage on BCNR33
- somehow reached 600th JapCha wins... and gonna reach 75 more JapCha wins if the next 250th win on next rank up was 675 wins on my BCNR33
- afterwards if I can try to blitz in 120 more story stages which 118 more stages to go till nest rank up then getting it to 500th ghost win on my next rank up to SSSS

played some JPN challenge today from 163-175 and it was one of the hardest things ive done. i did manage to hit A4 today but i was spent. didnt have enough sleep the night earlier and the last few runs to try and clear 173-175 were filled with stupid unforced errors. wasnt happy about that but i got thru it. i also changed the title on the R33, i had the title Real Dragon from the story mode run for a fair amount of time but JP challenge round 4 Nara title Cherry blossom Samurai was too tempting to give up. i took that new title and i can always switch back to the previous one with 2 story mode runs if needed.

did some battles that i lost for the most part aside from guest challengers. 5 more rank ups left on the R33. i also got the JCESE to vs a lifted hiace, i won the weight/pushing battle but lost the race. winning wasnt the point of the race, it was more to see which car would push each other around.

WMMT5DX+:

BCNR33
- somehow the 675th win didn't push a rank up... now I'm slapping my target to 925th Ghost win for the bloody path to SSSS
- now pondering if going to blitz in 1 story loop in my next session since I need to finish 117 story stages till I finish 10th story loop for the next rank up
- hoping that WMMT6 doesn't come too early then.. I smell somewhere june to july release

Played some more at Round 1 Sun Valley and Golfland Castro Valley this weekend.

Took JOHN's Hakone and Mt. Taikan crowns with my AE86 at Round 1 and I finally took back Mt. Taikan and Osaka crowns from DAFFY at the Castro Valley Golfland with my AE86 and R35, respectively.

Almost took his Wangan crown as well but I ran out of time. Hopefully if he doesn't take them all back before next weekend I can take that one too and try to work on re-taking Hakone.

Played for a bit at Golfland Castro Valley after work today. Finally took New Belt Line, Wangan and Fukuoka crowns back from DAFFY and C1 Loop crown from some guy with a pink Chaser whose name I can't remember (sorry) with my R34.

Although I did manage to get these crowns from some pretty fast players, I still don't feel satisfied with my driving skill. I know I can do better and need to improve.

Got a ghost battle challenge from RANDY again and beat him again, also finally got revenge against SUCC* on Osaka

My R35 still holds the Osaka crown and my AE86 still holds Mt. Taikan. Hopefully I can take the rest of them back tomorrow.

long F'ing day at the arcades but it was worth it for the progress made. got to the arcades around 6pm and left at midnight. did a bunch or races vs better players 4v4 till 10, was pretty damn busy with local players. managed to use all 6 FT cars in all those races. 1x with each SVX and WRX STI, 5-6x each FD, EVO3 JCESE and the rest with the R33. around 7 battle stars in total with all 6 cars.

got some 2nd and 3rd place wins but mostly 4th place. got 1st place in the 5 guest star races. mostly played vs some skylines and evo9s, went with the JCESE to try my luck vs the heavy cars. it was a slow start for best finishing place. the last race with the JCESE was great, its a heavy tank that pushes the cars away. i finished 2nd but missed out on 1st for a badly taken last corner. i took my line and any car that crossed my line "made space" for me to pass to the point where i was consistently in 1st and the rest were trying to push me aside.

they were complaining that i was pushing them a bit too much but shikata ga nai, the JCESE is a heavy car to race with. racing with a JCESE or Celsior (JCESE in my case) does put me in a different battle mode as i can try my best in a race and be pretty damn sure my car will move the opponents' with ease and with minimal worry of getting pushed around.

the progress made was +8 stars and im only 5 races away from 100 wins. i had more opportunities to get more guest stars but it was late and the guests were persistent in challenges. i wanted some control on when i can stop playing so i let them have at it while i did ghost mode. i hit lvl 102 dress up on R33, Hawk1 aura and 190 stages in JPChallenge. its still at A4 but i got 2 rank ups in easy reach at this point.

in the end it was long but it was fun as hell when playing the local players while we all have fun racing.

Played a bunch more this weekend Saturday and Sunday.

Played at Golfland in Castro Valley and dropped by the Eastridge Round 1 in San Jose on Saturday. San Jose was packed with players as usual. Got some pretty good VS battles in against BIRB!, JIN, S-Q-N, TRASH and a few other guys whose names slip my memory (sorry). Some of these guys are really good and I had a really hard time keeping up with them on a few courses. I did pretty good on Hakone, though, although I'm still not as fast on that course as I need to be. I also took a Hakone crown on the cabs facing in the direction of the credit kiosks.

Apparently players in San Jose have been seeing my name a lot. A few people came up to me and mentioned that they'd seen me, and a few of them wanted to race me on Hakone because they heard I'm good on it (I'm not that good, but I appreciate the compliment)

I came back to the Golfland in Castro Valley on Sunday and a few players showed up to do some ghost battles. One of the players is oky, who I believe is one of the staff members at the Golfland. He's very skilled. I challenged his ghost on Mt. Taikan like a month ago or something like that, and he finally got revenge on me. Not only that, but he took my crowns on Mt. Taikan, Fukuoka and Osaka! LiMBO also took my crown on C1.

I tried to take the crowns back but couldn't keep up with their ghosts. These guys are just too fast for me right now. I did manage to take DAFFY's crown on Nagoya though, so I at least still hold 3 crowns with my R34.

Also my AE86's aura is purple now, and I finally unlocked Hawk 2 (1st Grade Ace)

Looking forward to racing with those guys again. I feel like racing against more skilled players helps me improve my lines and my times.

i got closer to my goal today for the R33, hit A2 today, finished off JPchallenge round 4 and got 6 battle stars to hit 102 battle stars. finished off the day with some story mode 152-157 in a push to hit 180. i also got to dress up level 106. JPC #5, story 360 are left on my plate to hit S7.

EDIT: messed around with my 450HP JCESE vs some guests, won the races easilt enough. one was a newb/noob?? who thought more gears meant faster and that skylines were the best. i told him gears were not important and skill was the trick. i had to upgrade the 450hp JCESE from 2->7 stability upgrades to make it easier to drive and proceeded to kick their butts with it.

too bad no regular players were there when i was there but i didnt stay late enough maybe?? i didnt bother to clean up the guest player with a FT car as i dont really need the battle stars from them. made a 600HP SRT-10, diffucult son of a gun to use... finished off by grinding story mode R33 157->173.

Played last weekend at the Golfland in Castro Valley before I unfortunately succumbed to a cold and was forced to take an involuntary hiatus from the game for the rest of the weekend.

Took a few crowns with my R34 and R35. Finally got some more crowns back from DAFFY. I heard someone mention that ghosts degrade over time? Perhaps thats why his ghost felt slower than usual when I was racing it last time. I'm not sure if that's actually true or not. Maybe I just got faster. I don't know.

I took some photos but I don't think I snapped a photo with all my crowns visible. I have a feeling someone's taken them by now.

Now that i'm finally over this cold I might head down to either the golfland or one of the nearby Round 1s (concord or san jose?) to play some more this weekend. Looking forward to some fun racing!

Ghost data do degrade over time, usually 4-6 days are the time they got slower, I say it's pretty easier than WMMT3 series but not as easy than WMMT4 in terms of crown boost

In my case that I retired from crown bashing to a point that some people knew a certain bug that can hold their crown data for months using "planking the ghost" which was prevalent on special online ghost challenge event...

And that bug itself will annoy the heck out of you... if they did the correct angle that would boost on impossible angle or entry of turn which defies racing logic...

had a few battles today, i got a 1st place in a 4v4 battle by luck. i got 2nd,3rd and 4th a few times but the battles were fun. the SRT 10 went from 620->700hp, hit A1 with the skyline with 180 story modes. with any luck the race to 240 will go without loses to hit a red tach. though there are some story mode races that tend to give me trouble once in a while.
