QUOTE (N643 @ 8 hours, 3 minutes ago) | just used your regular pass, then asl for discard and bang out story mode in one afternoon
i do that all the tine, its not hard |
yeah, my patience isnt that great for story mode grinding. 20-30 races np, 40 no thanks; 60 n ty. it usually takes 3-4 visits for me to FT a car. though there were more than a few locations that were quiet enough to get some good potential progress. if i spend +4hrs doing same thing it does get a bit boring doing the same thing but i also do get those times where you are so frustratingly close to your goal that i MUST achieve it in that session. the most i ever spent in 1 arcade session was $40, $20-30 is the usual amount i spend on any given day though if its too busy $15 is sufficient if its peak usage for the machines.
though would it even work to have a JPN car mixed onto a banana pass with other ENG cars? i only ever played ENG versions before so cross compatibility is a bit confusing to me ATM.
anyways using my main cards in JPN MT6 is a non starter. there are around 1:2 ratio for arcades to 7/11 in Japan as far as distribution. im not sure about USA or other countries but the arcades have mostly died off around a decade ago in the areas im around ie Montreal Canada. there are only a handful of arcades few and far between and none have gone past MT5. there are some more retro ones that rarely if ever update the game selection. the one i go to locally keeps up most of the time but i dont think we'll ever get MT5DX, its more likely it'll jump to MT6 when its deemed time to do so.
getting a 3rd card that i can update to MT6 in Japan is fine but i cant do that to my main MT5 cards locally. it would isolate them in a version whose arrival is TBD at the very least. i do plan on going back to Japan again and i'll probably just go and get a 3rd card, bang out a FT car and save it for the next trip. the JCESE isnt the best car for me but i still like it alot and its a god damned tank .
EDIT: so i made a new card today, used 3 of my discards from my main card. put a R33 and JCESE on the card and left the 3rd discard open. got the R33 to story stage 40/700HP from a 600 hp car, got the JCESE to 620HP. will FT both of the cars then let the card sit around for a while, no sense in doing any body kits or wheels if its gonna be lost when it transfers to MT6 when i can do so. MT6 might even be a year away at minimum locally at this point. hopefully they put the EVO7 into MT6 so i can use it when the time comes.

Played some more at the Round 1 in Concord and Castro Valley Golfland this weekend. Mostly just doing ghost battles with a few VS thrown in. Finally took all the crowns at Castro Valley. Took C1, New Belt Line, Wangan, Yokohane, Yaesu, Minato, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka with my R34 and took Hakone and Mt. Taikan with my AE86. I had to race F094S's ghost from Team EXPLOIT to get them. He's pretty fast. Took me many attempts to figure out the lines I needed to take to pass his ghost. The only one of his ghosts I didn't have trouble with was is Mt. Taikan one. I dont know if he was even trying on that run or not. He was very difficult to beat on the other courses. Osaka and Yaesu were very difficult in particular. TRASH from San Jose apparently visited Castro Valley and took one of my crowns (Wangan) with his C6 'vette, so I had to take it back before I could finish what I started last week and take the rest of the crowns there. Unlocked the NISMO sticker set for my R34, which combined with the silver paint job makes it look like a Z-Tune. Pretty nice! I also now have green aura on my AE86 (whatever that means) Image size reduced, original size: 2560 x 1920. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. Also et another fellow WMMT fan named KAZDA (not sure if that was his username, sorry for my bad memory). He drove an FB RX-7. Cool car. We exchanged some tips for going fast on some courses and I gave him two of my discards (he had two banapasses). This post has been edited by dreyone on Apr 21 2019, 11:23 AM

DAFFY took all my crowns at the Golfland He's way too fast for me to take them back. Ran into AKEBO (sorry if I forget the spelling) from IDOLHELL yesterday. I raced a few of their teammates in San Jose not long ago. TRASH apparently took one or more of my crowns before DAFFY took the rest (and his). I managed to get revenge successfully against TRASH and a few other players who beat my ghost, but not DAFFY. At least I managed to snap this photo last weekend before DAFFY de-crowned me! Also while all the Maxi cabs were in use I played some Initial D Arcade Stage for the first time in I don't even know how long. Pretty underrated game, wish it had the same kind of support that WMMT does This post has been edited by dreyone on Apr 28 2019, 12:49 PM

Played some more at Round 1 Sun Valley and Golfland Castro Valley this weekend. Took JOHN's Hakone and Mt. Taikan crowns with my AE86 at Round 1 and I finally took back Mt. Taikan and Osaka crowns from DAFFY at the Castro Valley Golfland with my AE86 and R35, respectively. Almost took his Wangan crown as well but I ran out of time. Hopefully if he doesn't take them all back before next weekend I can take that one too and try to work on re-taking Hakone. Round 1 Sun Valley: Image size reduced, original size: 2560 x 1920. Played for a bit at Golfland Castro Valley after work today. Finally took New Belt Line, Wangan and Fukuoka crowns back from DAFFY and C1 Loop crown from some guy with a pink Chaser whose name I can't remember (sorry) with my R34. Image size reduced, original size: 2560 x 1920. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. Although I did manage to get these crowns from some pretty fast players, I still don't feel satisfied with my driving skill. I know I can do better and need to improve. Got a ghost battle challenge from RANDY again and beat him again, also finally got revenge against SUCC* on Osaka My R35 still holds the Osaka crown and my AE86 still holds Mt. Taikan. Hopefully I can take the rest of them back tomorrow. Image size reduced, original size: 2560 x 1920. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. Played a bunch more this weekend Saturday and Sunday. Played at Golfland in Castro Valley and dropped by the Eastridge Round 1 in San Jose on Saturday. San Jose was packed with players as usual. Got some pretty good VS battles in against BIRB!, JIN, S-Q-N, TRASH and a few other guys whose names slip my memory (sorry). Some of these guys are really good and I had a really hard time keeping up with them on a few courses. I did pretty good on Hakone, though, although I'm still not as fast on that course as I need to be. I also took a Hakone crown on the cabs facing in the direction of the credit kiosks. Apparently players in San Jose have been seeing my name a lot. A few people came up to me and mentioned that they'd seen me, and a few of them wanted to race me on Hakone because they heard I'm good on it (I'm not that good, but I appreciate the compliment) I came back to the Golfland in Castro Valley on Sunday and a few players showed up to do some ghost battles. One of the players is oky, who I believe is one of the staff members at the Golfland. He's very skilled. I challenged his ghost on Mt. Taikan like a month ago or something like that, and he finally got revenge on me. Not only that, but he took my crowns on Mt. Taikan, Fukuoka and Osaka! LiMBO also took my crown on C1. I tried to take the crowns back but couldn't keep up with their ghosts. These guys are just too fast for me right now. I did manage to take DAFFY's crown on Nagoya though, so I at least still hold 3 crowns with my R34. Image size reduced, original size: 2560 x 1920. Click here to view the image in its original dimension. Also my AE86's aura is purple now, and I finally unlocked Hawk 2 (1st Grade Ace) Looking forward to racing with those guys again. I feel like racing against more skilled players helps me improve my lines and my times.
