So the R2 is like a go-kart not in terms of drivetrain but, serves as a guide on using techniques in racing?

Well, that sounds like you're referring to real-life stuff. Can't apply techniques here to real-life since this is an arcade game after all.

All I can add is that if you can manage consistent cornering speeds with an R2, then you should be fine with handling, in your case, Laurel, Eunos Cosmo, and R32... since R2 is the worst car in the game (when including battling potential along with handling and acceleration attributes).

Pajero and Hi-ace are just as bad cornering-wise, but you can use their weight for battles. With the Hi-ace, you can even mess up your opponents' camera every now and then.

Welp, I forgot to put game on my last post.Anyways, thanks for your thoughts; Wew, I never knew the secret cars hold potential that helps you a bit on blocking and cornering in MT for which is actually surprising; I always see them as odd cars in the game yet, its the old saying of dont judge a book by it's cover.

the secret cars that isn't bad in stats is the R35 SpecV... and maybe the special variants of JZS161, UCF10 and GG3P since those variants has no change from the stock editions

but R35 specV has no clear advantage against stock R35...

lelz... dem traffic cars, they're kinda underpowered/nerfed bad but they have certain advatange over the top tiered ones but you have to play your cards really hard

The only traffic cars isn't out yet was the H200 series Hiace or what I call the "Big Block" edition

190E (W201) is built for battles... has solid weight good enough for fending Evo 9's and BNR32 but a little bit of elbow grease

Pretty sure that was sarcasm lol.

Secret car? Taking on someone like Igor with a Corolla... okay, bad, very bad idea.

Non-rammer / Not rammer meta trained? Okay, VERY bad idea. (disclaimer: THAT is already an understatement. more like "OMGWTF ARE U INSANE U LOST THE RACE BEFORE U EVEN STARTED")

Of course I lost that race horribly... ehh, not as horrible as some of my worst MT2 losses in prime days; I have been in far worse shit than that race, but that one was still horrible nonetheless. laugh.gif

My only response to the above discussion is people thinking that hiaces are heavy. They are actually like, very very light. and if you think they are heavy, you've probably never driven one.

R2 and hiace are tied for worst.

I did drive someone's jacked-up Hiace, and it was surprisingly light!

Yeah, it definitely isn't heavy. Never driven the R2 before.

I remember I used to main a C10 skyline back in 3DX+. I didn't see anyone else driving em and I thought they were pretty cool (12-year old me liked driving skylines a lot, and it was a new introduction at the time), so I basically stuck with it till I moved from MT to IDAS.

I don't know if they're a common sight in MT5 or in other parts of the world seeing as my idea of the MT scene is from what I remember when I used to play (LOTS OF EVOS)

yeah I remember in 3DX+ it was pretty solid, then after MT4 nobody use it.

AE86 is kinda like C10 was back in 3DX+, great handling and surprisingly hard pusher despite its appearance.
