Not necessarily true. There are some cars that will simply outperform others on places like the Wangan Straight and Hakone with the boost off and with drivers of equal or similar skill level. Though I would agree with you that elsewhere most people's skill makes the difference and the car just makes it easier/harder but doesn't MAKE the time. Personally I think Namco should program slipstreaming into their game so in boost off mode you can still give the trailing car a more realistic speed advantage and add a whole new element of strategy to the game.

I've never heard it called a PEERvsPEER game, I just always called it a PvP (which is not PEERvsPEER, but PLAYERvsPLAYER, I don't know, too many online games I guess).
Anyway, i always step on the break on the handicap screen, and if my opponent does, awesome, but if not, thats fine as well. I can appreciate the skill it takes in both ways to race. I never get mad at somebody for not turning it off.

Thank you Frederick. That's the kind of attitude I like.

PvP, well, uhmmm... didnt really know a good way to define it. Well at least, there it is either way... its really fun playing with your peers or a non-AI players. Cool, thanks for the note!!! Because there's no other better competition... than challenging a living one! As for the boost handicap... I'm taking all these advises to my nutshell!!!

i much much much prefer boost off. in 2 of 3 arcades i play in, most of the people there play boost off (and are freaking good too ). I always step on the brakes though Mind you, where i play the most (knox cause it's 1.80 v 2 for a game, plus bonus money), it's always boost on. being a more popular arcade, it kinda doesn't suprise me. Being knox, it really doesn't suprise me.... what i hate, however, are people telling you what power to run at because someone else is handicapped by one reason or another. I know it's wrong to go to 700+ when there's someone else at stock, but by the same token, if there's other people with 800hp capable cars in the same rance, dealing with them is a higher priority for me. That, and them turning your wheel to select the track that "they" want, without asking you. or anyone interfering with the machine while i'm using it. 4 way today with one stock car made me think about this....

It's not out of the question. I've seen it happen, especially when the lead car crashes into a wall/ traffic near the end. Also it's not that hard to beat lvl 10 ghosts with the stock cars either. The boost does ridiculous things sometimes. Like 600hp discards running up your butt in Yokohane and people who have not completed the Max tune going 680hp with no handling in Hakone and winning. 280 cars have a bit more of a chance than say a 68 hp R2 though...
