Your winning but thanks to the magic boost... they get on you easily. whats the point of that.


For noobs.. Another thing that pisses me off is seeing people tapping the break when the handicap screen shows up.... losers

...or for people who want an exciting game... There's a purpose to everything in this game. I don't know why you're ragging on the boost. Even experienced players sometimes enjoy boost on. Ask people who've played against me on this board- I'm no noob; but it doesn't mean I condemn boost races.

True if there's a complete disparity in skill some players will be completely destroyed if there were never any boost. This is not exciting or fun and it deters new or inexperienced players. It's more fun for people to learn when there's a chance to win. And if they win and they're noobs, just challenge them again and beat them. I do wish there was a handicap adjust option though...

Also.. EVERYONE at AI and indeed every other arcade I go to taps the brake when the handicap screen shows up.... It doesn't mean anything. They could be noobs or top tier players. When it turns solid you know ppl want boost off. Don't know why you have such a pet peeve with this phenomenon.

what tchan said. free star. infact i'm a bit cheeky. if i see a noob come onto the machine and if i'm not already set to it i press the red button and accept challenges. if they challenge me, woot more starts and mileage for me, if not, then i continue with my game.

I have tried both on the Hanshin Line, it's both the same really, Boost off is a lot funnier since I usually ram or shove my friends cars into traffic . Yep, that's usually how I play with my friend, it's just for fun really, I don't really consider it a real battle.

So anyways, Boost off is more fun in my opinion

i even had noob shits turning off my challenge mode without asking me just to race against 280 hp cars for extra stars, wtf man! Wheres the sportsmanship gone to ... >.<

I've only gotten a free star once, but that was because the Vs.Mode button on my cab was busted so I couldnt turn it off. But Depends on what you like, IMO. You want a challenge, leave it on I suppose.

@Silver_Z: This might seem weird but, can you please stop creating your thread titles in all caps? It's a bit of a pain to have to see it cross my eyes.

Well i always find the 1st power tuning option for the R2 amusing...

sometimes u need to hit brakes for the sharps like in Osaka.. u know the sharp right turn, ppl in my area have a tuff time cornering that. With my R2 I have to brake early down to 2nd gear and gas it. But even then I still hit wall.

i think it should be mutual understanding between both gamers...if one steps pn the brake then the other should do also

handicap is the thing that keeps your car catching up with the car in front if you crash or screw up so the race is less predictable.

Also. If you want to see how unbelievably powerful the boost is. Run 700hp on the wangan on one car and race a stock GTO. It's disgusting.

My 800hp R2 got chased by a 300hp Gemballa Avalanche before and I have to block at the last 500m... -.-

I dun really like the boost cuz it's too much...
But then again it really makes a race more interesting...=D

i raced a friend on wangan just for fun and i had 820hp evoXI and he got the savanna with 205hp....and i only beat it by 300m...that's just ridiculous cuz i was going 100kmh more than his car...so i should've won by 1000m or so

When I challenge noobs to steal their stair (and get a free game!) I leave the boost on so they think they can win XD!

the only time u need to step on the brake is the far end where u need to turn to to the right with bumpers at the side otherwise in the map Osaka ,... u dun need brakes

if u cant play TA .. u cant play boost off ....

its how you play ... what strategy u use ... its a game not real life ... u can slam the fella until he tells u pls dun do it anymore

people should race with their own racing skills.. NOT with magic boosts to help them out when their last.

Then that makes the one with 1st position easier to get.
