QUOTE (Dizzi @ May 25 2008, 06:00 PM) | Funniest thing that happened to me while playing MT3.
This one guy is like fishing all the noobs and claim he's the shit. So the arcade owner is all like. This guy is talkin mad shit could you fish him?
So I get on the machine start smashing the walls on Wangan Line at 600hp on my stock looking R32, the guy challenges me. I pick C1 Out and he puts himself at 820 so I go 720. Guys presses the brake and says "Wow you must be bad if you chose 720 on C1" after first turn I ram him into a ToyoAce and at the middle of the race he jumps up and starts yelling "F**K YOU" and crap, after that he goes emo mode and leaves the arcade.
The arcade manager and the casual were all laughing it was pretty funny. |
Gyah, Is it just me or does this smell like a troll. First of all, the arcade owner wouldn't really care. The other guy may be being a dickhead, but as long as he's putting coins into that machine and obeying the rules, I doubt he'd get you to beat him to get him to leave...
820 on C1 is do able, I remember I chose it by mistake once and managed alright.
Finally, I doubt if you crashed him into a truck he'd get up and shout F**K you... And according to you, after that he left the arcade. Meaning he left without his card... Yeah, this sounds like bullshit to me...
QUOTE (BNR34NISMO @ Yesterday at 1:38 AM) | im sure this has happened to a lot of us, staring at girls while battling then crashing into traffic lol. hate it when that happens haha. |
My god, this is so spot on my friend. This happens so damn much, or if my mind is somewhere else, I'll be thinking about something else, then snap, back into reality and BANG! I've either hit a wall or a car... So damn annoying... Anyone who's raced with me will have noticed that I fail to turn sometimes I'll be in the lead, then "Why the hell isn't he going into that corner?" and bang. "What the hell are you doing man?" And then I wake up This post has been edited by Midnight Star on May 27 2008, 01:37 AM

The arcade manager plays MT3 and the guy kept telling him how we was the best player of the whole arcade when infact he was down right terrible. I don't consider myself as a great player but I can hold my own so I went on and beat the guy. The guy was a cocky douchebag. He said he'd F**K me up within the last 2KM of the race not when I rammed him into a toyoace in the first turn. The guy was all pissed off when he left he was yelling and shit. Yes he did get his card. Oh and 820HP boost off against 720? There's no way you're going to win against the 720 if he knows what he's doing.
The dude fished stock cars and new player and talked shit after beating em. So I fished him.
Don't believe me? I don't care, because I'm not lying.

@Atmos: Red turn 1km before the finish line would normally be Hakone-I, but there's no dividers on it. Might be Yokohane-D, which reminds me of my run-in with the Yokohane-D tollboths - something glitched during Ghost Mode (like rendering errors) twice. Different results were: - My Evo was shot two stalls to the left (THROUGH WALLS) before being dropped outside the stall's entrance.
- My WRX was bounced up/back above roof-level and deposited 3m before the stall's entrance.
BTW, I heard some kid "declared himself my rival". I LOLed a bit because I only recognize skill/competion, not something that can be construed as a 'grudge over a game'. Anyhow, he went and chatted up a friend o' mine, ID'd all my cars by letter-casing, and more-or-less correctly named them (via mispronounciation). Ended up taking a few of my Ghosts on Hakone (@820), lost, and got really worked up. I'm mystified by the facts that he:1. Took me on Hakone at 820. Under normal circumstances, you'd take Hakone @ 7#0 for enough speed-to-drift balance - unless you're very good and know just what you're doing. 2. Got worked up about it enough to say he hates my cars and declare a 'rivalry'. First, the problem's not me; second, it's only a game. This post has been edited by raven111 on May 29 2008, 09:58 PM

Funniest thing I've seen was when one of the better players here was doing a ghost VS battle on Hakone. They were far enough ahead of the ghost that they went around the loop and started coming back, driving straight towards the other car. At the hill just before the finish line, the player hit the ghost head-on and somehow, his Silvia popped maybe a hundred feet into the air. His story sounds exactly like something that would happen at my arcade. If I were working and some kid was talking smack about how great he is at MT3, I'd totally tell one of my MT3 regulars to go beat the crap out of the kid. I'm always trying to instigate races between customers -- it gives me something interesting to watch.
I could also easily imagine some trash-talking kid getting pissed and leaving mid-game. I've seen it happen.

During the race against Gatchan's Celsior (Stage 26, I think) where he quits before rejoining you, one of my friends dared me to try letting him go first to find where he disappears off to. Follow him slowly into the dip - you'll see him parked in the shoulder lane (he doesn't go anywhere till you're outta sight). Go up behind him and gently nudge your gas - you'll hit him first, then go through him. -- Remember when I mentioned that glitch that shot me through the tollboth walls 2 stalls to the left? I think I found out how it happened, but it's got a hole the size of Alaska in it (for various reasons).
I raced one of my old ghosts (either my Evo9 or my old Z33) two days ago on Yokohane-D. Same dilemma, same "solution"; I got hung up and ended with my nose to the stall wall. At that point, it was either go forward (and hopefully through) or scrape the wall while turning. So I goosed forward through a space between the booth's pillars. I can assume that it's like that for each of the stalls. What gets me is that it would've shot be back to hit the back pillar if I hit the front pillar from INSIDE the booth; if that was supposed to happen (and even if my ghost hit me - which would've only tapped me to the next stall over), how'd I get shot through TWO stall walls? And the same thing happened the other too, bouncing me up. I still can't figure if the ghost rammed me or it was "pilot error", but I can assume both seeing as I've had better days.

The Hakone Backmarker Syndrome strikes again Earlier I was involved in a series of VS battles including myself (using my recently dressed up RX-7 FC), a friend of mine (Fairlady S30Z), and a pair of noobs with FT'd cards (an Evo and a Skyline R32). In the course of those battles it sure was quite obvious how the noobs compared against me and my friend (consistently falling way behind us - at least 200m or so, so me and my friend always took the top two finishing spots). The noobs kept trying to pick Osaka - apparently their favorite course, much to our chargin. And they even consented to Boost Off, which didn't do them any good anyway (dunno why they even bothered). One race where we managed to get Hakone chosen. In the course of the race the S30 took the lead, I was second, the Evo 3rd and the R32 last, with the distances growing steadly as the race progressed, with the noobs far enough to meet us head-on after the loop. And that's what happened - after I went around the loop I had my eye on the S30 about quite a distance away (about 100m or so), when suddenly it went AIRBORNE - really high too (in the game universe, I'd estimate about 20 stories up), and at where the S30 flew up from was the Evo, standing still. Shortly after that I just whizzed past the Evo and took the win, with everyone laughing from the flying stuntshow

So that's what it's called. Always wondered what the hell the Backmarker Syndrome was. And 2 noobs with FT cars? I think of that like giving "loaded" SuperSoakers to kids, telling 'em not to get wet, and leaving them alone - if conditions are right, it ain't happening. I just brougt back my Z33 "raven" and did a bunch of ghosts for each course. My friend did a little "declaration", saying he was gonna take me out on each course. He didn't do Osaka, but avoided my Hakone. So he got me on C1 because I goofed. Dunno about NBL, but he tackled me on Yokohane-D; double-fail noted for two things: - I seemed to hit a truck and drop by thirty meters, which got him laughing; he clammed up when I overtook him in less than 3 seconds.
- He did a victory cheer (saying something hilarious) when he was pulling ahead near the finish line; failed to notice the lane starting to bend left. My ghost ultimately stayed true to its line; he got pushed into the corner of the alcove before the leftward curve on the long highway stretch (where you finish MT2's Stage 80 is the beginning of that stretch).
Although it's fair to say that I warned him: pending circumstances when I make a mistake, I don't take long to recover. He encountered the same thing (minus the 'Victory' incident) on Wangan. This post has been edited by raven111 on Jun 15 2008, 03:31 AM
