QUOTE (Normalaatsra @ Oct 5 2013, 04:23 PM) | So after closer inspection I discover what EXTREME Battle Mode is.
The amount of mileage left to cover in the race is blocked from all players, so it is unknown how long will the race run, so maybe when the 'Don't Get Caught!' warning shows people are going to panic because the race is about to end and the leader will win the race in an unknown length of the finish line.
Also I think the course map will return to the game since 3DX+, to be positioned just aside the gear transmission indicator. The map will be blocked too, so no one can predict where the course layout will go.
And lastly, I think I nailed this one on my first guess, we will be having reverse courses in the game. You can now race around a two way highway in reverse, Western style (or maybe Filipino style ). The course depicted in the picture is Osaka, with the dome adjacent to the right hand side of the picture, instead of the left. That barricade you see exists already in MT4 as a barricade to close off unused branches and ramps. You can easily catch one in Yaesu ramps, C1's JCT's, and definitely Osaka.
However it is unknown whether the AI traffic will become oncoming traffic in extreme battle, or will it be randomized, as what Extreme mode is all about.
To debunk: 1. No construction barriers (but would surely live up to the Extreme name) 2. No PA ramp option (but same reason as No. 1 about how cool it is) 3. No NBL dual ramp (an always left hand entrance to make it difficult, again Rule Of Cool here) 4. No SP bar, good riddance because we're just gonna burn all our money on some short battles.
Now we wait. In the mean time let's identify what the new course is, it can't be C2 when the text below it doesn't even say 'C2'. |
Good Analysis there, Normalaastra. Having closer inspection on the image you zoomed in, it definitely proves all your points (if not all, most of them). OK so I did my research on the track and I found this: 副都心エリア - Fuku toshin eria A.K.A. The Fukutoshin Area (Metro Rail) / Shinjyuku district (Highway) I did my research and it actually leads to the Shibuya and Shinjyuku district. As I quote from Wikipedia: QUOTE | The Fukutoshin Line is the deepest metro line in Tokyo, with an average depth of 27 meters. At Shinjuku-sanchōme Station, the line passes under the Marunouchi and above the Shinjuku lines at a depth of 15 meters, with a gap of only 11 centimeters to the Shinjuku Line tunnel. The deepest section is at the immediately adjacent Higashi-Shinjuku Station, where the line goes down to 35 meters, partly due to an underground space reservation for a possible future extension of the Jōetsu Shinkansen to Shinjuku. |
The Fukutoshin line in general is simply the metro rail / train line which was known for its depth around Tokyo and is known about it. Now, for Expressway purposes, the one expressway adjacent to this is the Shinjyuku line. If coming from the C1 inner loop, the entrance to that is the right side of the fork junction at Kasumigaseki tunnel (just after the hard right past the cherry blossoms at C1 inner). The exit from Shinjyuku back to C1 is also located at Kasumigaseki. In games, This route was featured in Import Tuner Challenge / Shutoku battle X for the X360; Genki's prototype upgraded physics engine which was also used in Wangan Midnight PS3 (excluding the existence of the Shinjyuku line). So for those who played ITC, you guys have the upperhand as you know what comprises the Shinjyuku/Fukutoshin area. Expect a hard 180 degree U-turn at the end that'll lead you back to C1. Depending on how NAMCO will play their cards with this, the 2 ways to enter the Fukutoshin line would be: - The Right lane at the Fork road of the Kasumigaseki tunnel at C1 inner (light left corner in the tunnel)
- OR after exiting the hard left at C1 outer in the mid point of the tunnels - in the OCM, it's where the Pajero's strategically placed. The upramp on the left leads directly to Shinjyuku.
Based on when I watched the gameplays of ITC on youtube; Shinjyuku will be similar to Yokohane in terms of width or maybe much narrower - down to exactly 2 car widths / 2 lanes, there MAYBE tollgates at the end. and there's a turnabout at the City which directly brings you back through the opposite lane of Shinjyuku leading you to the C1 loop. My thoughts on this new iteration: It would be nice if they included more CF parts for the cars. We have the CF Aero mirrors, stock CF Hood, and CF Trunk. So why not... - CF Stock wing - CF Wing by car type I'm a sucker for CF parts >_< Hehe I wonder if they'll put more old cars in this. Cars like the ST205 / ST185 A certain old boxy Lancer (an Evo I or II would just be weird...) An old Subaru Legacy (also boxy) Older Miatas anyone? It'd be a surprise too if the Toyota 86 has a code that unlocks the Levin 86

Unless its longer/shorter than usual
One thing i find funny... If they're hiding the map it makes no difference, seeing as how they dont have maps now...
