the ps3 is still set to use the composite (yellow white red) cable and not HDMI in the video settings. Plug it into the HDTV with a standard cable (like you used before) at first, then also plug in the HDMI too. Now go to settings -> display settings and change the default to HDMI from composite and change the respective input on the TV (from AV to HDMI1 or whatever) also, you play online? add me... |

I dont have the other cables. Theyre at step bro's house.
I got it to work a second ago, but my screen was black. It said HDMI 480pi or some shit. [ Post merged on Oct 1 2011, 04:06 PM ] This is f**king bull -.- I found a set of cables from my ps2 and theyre working. Extremely shit quality on GT5 though. I tried the hdmi cable again on my laptop. It somehow broke and it's not working at all anymoer -.- |

well thats a whole pile of fail then. you might be able to get it to work in the same mode. what you have to do, plug it all in, turn the power off by the switch at the back. now when you turn it on, hold your finger on the power button / sensor it beeps once, and then will beep a few times (after a few sec of holding) that should reset all the video settings and you should be able to reconfigure it. edit: oh LOL. there you go, dodgy cable. and yeah PS1/2/3 all use the same AV port. I remember using a PS1 RF adaptor (which uses the aerial) on the crap tv's at ski camp on my ps2 in y9 lol. This post has been edited by WRX22B1998 on Oct 1 2011, 04:15 PM |

I've tried that it didnt work. I've come to the conclusion that the cable is just shit and faulty :/ I'll just buy a $10 one from the reject shop tomorrow. For now i'm running on standard definition. I feel like im playing GT4 again now -.- Atleast standard cars dont look too bad. Premium are bad though.

Dude, i had this issue once. To fix it. You need to connect the av composite in [whether hd was on previously, that's fine] it may not show BUT [read on] Turn on PS3 -> hold finger on POWER BUTTON FOR 10 seconds or until ps3 turns off, and it will show the screen back to default s tandard composite. If it doesn't work. You're doing it wrong. Hold it longer. Until it beeps again. Pretty soon it will work. I had this issue many times. I know what you mean. Read the manual, that's how I learnt this strategy. |

Stuck in GT5.
I've got a Mclaren F1 and i am struggling to win " Like the wind " and that All Stars race. My car is good ( AND IT BETTER BE FOR 1.5 MILLION INCLUDING MODS ) but i still cant win. My car has really shit accel and im usually one of the last off the grid. It also oversteers whenever i throttle. I've got racing mediums on. Any tips guys? |

Im thinking of tuning a nascar, tuning up my veyron or tuning up a zr1 with race mods. I tried my tuned veyron without suspension tuning, but it just cant grip so it sucks at turns. My Mclaren F1 matches my veyrons speed but it spins too easily. Either way, these two cars arent fast enough to win...
