Unless it has been officially proved and there is evidence (at least more than two people), then maybe, JUST MAYBE, it might be true. But otherwise rank is just for show.

Nah rank increases traffic. It's been proven and if you want proof, drive a SPW on hakoen and you'll see traffic lol. But im not cofirmed with the boost...tell me marv >:@

there's a lot of specualtion

some believe tapping the stupid red button increases the boost, the higher your battle-star ratio, the higher the boost and many more

till now no one has the confirmed way to increase or decrease the boost

but in version c, somehow during the last 1km in battle, if you're 100m behind your opponent, the boost increases greatly

LOL the red button tapping thing, I do it just cause everyone else does smile.gif I tried racing without hitting the button before and I felt a bit slower o_o''...not by alot, but yea. I definitely felt a bit of difference. And the 1KM thing in Ver.C, im pretty sure it's just to make the race more interesting.

Tapping the red light does jack all. Here's how it goes:

-A couple people hear that it does something, they start tapping the red light. If the race goes nicely in their favour, they're convinced from that point on that it does something (placebo effect). If not, they swear against it.

-New players see everyone tapping the red light so they figure it's a game mechanic, so they do it religiously.

-Suddenly, everyone is doing it, so it's now renowned as fact when it's fiction.

You can apply this to another aspect of the game too....

actually tapping the red button 4 boost was a mt2 thing & it gave u a little bit more boost

but it doesn't work in mt3 anymore, but then some idiots think it still does & they keep convincing ppl that it still does when then have no idea where it came from & most of these ppl just started mt3 & have not played the previous versions at all & they just listen 2 ppl that are ok players

And how do you expect to "test" this for yourself, exactly?

Are you going to use the force to pull imaginary numbers out of your head of how fast you think you should be catching up vs. what "the great red button" is "doing"?

Or are you going to...

You guys can keep fighting namco's word, for whatever reason, I'll just play. Namco's obviously telling everyone the opposite of what they think because....well heck why WOULD they do something like that?

All these theories are just people trying to justify their money spent.

If you had an SSS car, wouldn't you spread rumours around trying to make your car seem better than everyone else's? Like it rams better or it gets more boost and stuff?

Sure would make that car look more enticing to buy a dupe of, wouldn't it?

Gee, I wonder why those Devil dupes are selling so well...

- . -" ... we have just been through that discussion. OK... let me ask you a question. 'Why isn't any Ferraris in MT3 DX?'... same question. They're too overpowered compared to the other cars!

No worries! grin2.gif I have more stuff to add... the Gemballa only in Japanese MT machines, known as Porsche, have faster speed & acceleration that other cars eventhough if set with the same hp. The R35 might be faster than Gemballas if it was in MT. The Jap TA record for it on the WL is 4'00'337... if the R35 was in MT, it might have a possibility of achieving under 4 minutes!

Your logic is flawed because there's a TA of a Z34 at 4'00'2xx.

Namco creates all the cars to be more or less equal in performance. There are tiers of top speeds, but they differ by no more than 3km/h from one car to another, and are only discernable in a TA setting. In battle, it doesn't make a shit of difference.

Were the R35 to be in the game, it'd be no different. Namco's not stupid, if you make OP and UP cars, your revenue stream is funnelled because there's no incentive for people to invest in anything other than the cookie-cutter cars with high stats.

The game is based off a manga with a STORY, the R35 has nothing to do with MT. That's probably the biggest reason that it's not included, besides licencing costs.

yes there is an R35 included in MT happy.gif .... i was also surprised to see one over at a manga... i think a forumer already posted it here somewhere ermm2.gif .... cant remember under which thread... but yeah, the R35 is NOW included on the manga shifty2.gif .. it's on the part where i think every character under the manga was just staring at the car with amazement. bounce.gif

Staring at the car is one thing, a character owning/driving it is another. If someone's actually driving the car, though, then the R35 being included is probably a sure-fire thing, just not in DX.

They'd have to incorporate that story into MT, which wouldn't happen at this point.
