Last Saturday; this was the day when I first got my hands in the wheel of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune THREE!!!
Yes! folks! I am obviously left out... as a person with a retrospective input in life... "You can't teach (this) old dog, new tricks!" But whoa!!! To my shock and disbelief, the arcade location which I passed by and the WMMT-3 cabinet was completely empty...
I tried it, and whoa! the details of the Expressway is astonishing, cars are now distinctively and visibly available on the opposite side of the highway, textures are a max... specially the road surface... (but still, nothing compared to Tokyo Extreme Racer though )
using a 280hp stock car in the form of the Mazda RX7 i took the Wangan Line for a cruise... sadly, there are still areas where there's pixelation in graphics... i find it sad, for this is not as apparent in WMMT-2... but i definitely want to praise NAMCO for making reflective surfaces on the car... though pixelized... reflecting images on a cars body is something to look upon... Overall, as a new user... it might take me some time to adapt to WMMT3's environment... but as they say: if you keep forcing yourself into it, you just might love it...
Locally though, with the increasing prices in arcade value? I guess I'll stick with WMMT-2 some more... when WMMT-4 appears (who knows!), WMMT-3 will just cheap-out a bit, the way WMMT-2 reduced their prices... and lesser players to tag along with... Then maybe I can play more with it... like I've said: I am an "old" dog here... and teaching me new tricks just might take a little longer! KEEP on RACING... Whatever!

>> Congrats Tchan
Like I've mentioned before that i was going to use my long unused WMMT 2 card... And to my delight!!! After one-year of being kept in my cabinet the whole thing is still working... not to mention that its still available for 38 more games life span...
On the other hand, having driven this badly tuned car (all 600hp, blue tuning bars, no handling upgrade) is quite crazy... but i adapted, well cause its way slower than my balanced tuned 720HP 240Z... it was fun, and i had fun using the six-speed tranny...
After 3 games i stopped... i was satisfied to find out that the card was working... i transferred to the other game area to watch people playing WMMT-3!!! It was fun, I stood for an hour just to spectate... and goodness! everyone's aggressively playing... there was even this one-and-only babe, by the card name TIN. She's driving a black Supra, and lead the way in Hakone... sadly came two guys driving an Evo and the other a 240Z with a custom G-nose... That put an end to her winning streak that night... but still, acknowledging the fact that she won more than 3000 stars in her record (if im not mistaken...)... she probably lost her concentration when her friend arrived... It's amazing though that TIN turned the steering wheel smoothly and shifted that way too... while the two guys sure made lightning quick twitches and shifting... whatever the technique maybe though... winning is winning... all of them made a good race!!! Considering there's skill, there's the probability of an advantage that the EVO and the 240Z had in Hakone...
It was a great spectator's day for me... i just wished it been a Saturday, definitely there will be more players... I was watching yesterday, a Thursday night... only a few players arrived...
Any of you been to TIMEZONE GLORIETTA 4 at around 6:30-7:30 probably found the feature players i have here...
