QUOTE (raven111 @ 35 minutes, 36 seconds ago) | That's kinda happening over here.
Tho I keep telling folks mine's a legit S-rank RX-8 w/ EVERYTHING (825+meter/DU/Outrun) done and selling it for $50 -- which is a real steal considering how much it costs to work anything to that condition from scratch (that being either Ground Zero or Present Card=over $200), they'd rather go online and buy *cheaper*, hacked, gazillion-stat car(d)s for $20. And they'll claim it's "their" *legit* card...and get caught.
Now here's where it gets better...and I seriously LMAO at this. They pass up an offer like mine for their new *cheaper* cars, which they get at somewhere between/around Lv.30-something and Lv.46, and they STILL gotta spend money to finish it up; by the time they finish DU -- and assuming they started at Lv.46, they've spent close to $100. And that don't include buying the card.
What does that tell you? So anyways, this kid I'm selling it to? I ran the math down for him, told him my original price; he kinda balked at $50, but bit at $30. Smart kid. I honestly ain't quite happy that I had to lower it, but hey -- we each walking away with something, right? |
Why would anyone buy a card for over the price of a rename when - it's not renamable and you can get better stats/whatever colour you want.
I can get a rename of any car and colour done with 825HP + level 63 for $50USD with free shipping anywhere in the world. What makes yours so special and different? That it was legit? At the end of the day no one gives a damn if your car is legit or not. Anyone who thinks otherwise just got butthurt they spent $200+ on a card while everyone else is smart enough to just buy a rename for $20 and go from there. It's the way you handle the game that matters, not whether or not your card is "legit".
If someone told me they'd sell their legit card to me for $50, I'd laugh and tell them to f**k off. Especially an RX8, those cars are so common you can literally find a rename with any stats you want, any rank and any colour you want.

I try to be polite, even to vents like you. But I'm only human, and even I get fed up. Especially by crap like this.
For someone so sharp on criticism and able to read, you missed reading where I mentioned the kid saying he wanted an RX-8. Its 'popularity' that you wish to rage about is irrelevant; sure, he knew about getting them online (or wherever), but he didn't know who to talk to. So he asked the only guy around that he knew -- me.
And lastly, what you do is your business. And mind the language!

QUOTE (Exqlusive @ 1 hour, 36 minutes ago) | Does it look like I give a flying f**k?
Lol, no. I have money. It's just stupid spending on tuning a car if I can get it for so much cheaper. The Philippines have much cheaper games than we do. The average cost for a single game here is $2AUD - 85.2467 PHP. Now think how much a rename can save you. Would you really opt to tune it yourself? |
+1
if i had got all my cards legit (i do have a few legit ones) and start from scratch etc, it's looking at close to $200++ a card * 9 = too much to spend imo
not about whether you have the money or not, but rename is just financially the smarter thing to do i reckon, end of the day you're left with a plastic card which sometimes has no resale value because most people dont want a card with someone elses name on it
but having said that, tuning a card legit is interesting and you get to know the car better.

QUOTE (N643 @ Yesterday, 2:51 AM) | u should have said "no im not ramming cuz im chicken, its cuz im not gay & i have a gf period" |
Erm... I'm not gay... but I do not have a gf... how did you not know that? @RB33: Welcome to the old-timers and coming back out of retirement feeling rusty club!! @legit cards: Yes, renames are everywhere... everyone has one, including their grandparents... (not insulting anyone in particular, but my sincerest apologies if they have passed away) But the point is, a legit card is very emotional thing, it's not a matter about stars or mileage or class or whatever... It's about your pride and the amount of time you have spent doing that car up... I admit, that I have fully tuned 2 cars of my own, my E8 and E9... everything else is a rename. This is not because I wanted fame, with class, rank, mileage or stars... It was due to simplicity and logistics of me paying over the odds to tune it... But I admit that whenever I drive renames... I feel detached and I don't really get upset when i lose with them because they are renames for a reason... unless you created that rename from scratch, but my point is... with a legit card; you just seem to get a bond over the item... Most people will buy renames because they want class, stars, mileage, and fame maybe... who knows... I know it sounds like rubbish, but its like the little toy you always had with you since you were a toddler, and getting attached to that... or the little blankie that you used to have... I hope that you guys will stop arguing about it, because it will always be a divided opinion... One half will prefer to have legit cards and the other half to prefer renames, for the reasons I have mentioned above...

Plain and simple solution. Renames are cool if you know someone and you give them the rename. Put simply I think if namco didn't want renames available they wouldn't allow it, I think they kinda knew that not "as much" people would play if they had to tune a car from scratch everytime.
But I totally disagree with people who buy a card from people online. I don't think that's legal.
Let's say my friend gives me a rename and I use it and everyone knows he's the only legit r32 with 10000 stars. Everytime someone with a legit card and they see your 10000 stars they might say wow But it not deserved. I guess you can try and get good with a rename but if you just started you will still suck.
Someone good really wouldn't care, . Take this from a guy who has made over 30 cars from scratch, someone who has given over 50 renames.
Even now adays I wouldn't give someone my z31 rename I worked hard to get s4 and I wouldn't want some other guy leaving ghost or starting off were I have stopped. I think that's why they shut down the mileage ranks it makes no sense at this point.

Played yesterday, saw these two mid-twenty year old guys come in and start playing, saw the names were JD★ and SEXY! They started taking my ghost battle crowns, laughing (as if my times were a joke) After about six games from them, SEXY! noticed I wanted to play. I put in my card and the stupid look on his face was priceless. I took the three lines they just took, then, I forgot I shut off "Refusing Challengers" and JD★ raced me. I was going to go with clean racing, until he slammed me into a truck. The whole rest of the night, I raced like Dale Earnhardt. I was smashing them into walls left and right. At one point, I took a turn too sharp, hit the back of a truck, and saw SEXY! was coming up fast, so I threw my car directly in front of him, he hits me pretty hard, pushing me way ahead. He just blurts out, "OH, THAT'S CUTE, THAT'S CUTE" I lost the first race when I got slammed into the truck, then won the next twelve. You could FEEL their ANGER. Which made it all the more hilarious. trololololololololol
