QUOTE (Gunma's 34 @ Yesterday, 9:44 AM) | @Jammy - On an average, those who aren't obsessed with Maxi, who are good enough can clear Hakone in less than 5 minutes regardless of the car you use; though for most who are on in between - good enough but not regular AND Obsessed With Maxi to the point of emotional trauma/stress, less than 5 minutes is not good enough and you should aim for 4"40-49 range. (which I am aiming as well with my R34) |
well, im just happy i did get past that mark hakone usually isnt my best course. ah well, small steps This post has been edited by Jammy on Nov 27 2011, 05:14 AM

QUOTE (+-!mma_N00B- @ +2 hours, 43 minutes ago) | People say that the S30 has a stone hard front end. That tip may serve you well. |
That tournament yesterday was crazy fun. Bad draw got me Hakone/Outbound; while I usually do OK, in a 4-way this time, I took 2/4 about 30m behind the lead. After I got off, the kid I sold my RX-8 to (referred to hereon as 'ninja') got on; he just absolutely destroyed people w/ it. <I distinctly remember my friend asking me "What'd you do to that car?", to which I replied (like ZOMG) "EVERYTHING.">
So, I think we ran through most everybody before Round 2. I got Yokohane/Up-Haneda; took first. <My friend got that on vid, btw; gonna try to upload.> Can't remember which one, but there was a race where I N&Ned this one guy w/ an RX-8 -- won w/ 1m advantage.
Did surprisingly good on turns that I usually do badly --- and somewhat vice versa. All-in-all, for a small tourney wtih a $5 entry fee w/ strict rule on playing cleanly, it didn't go too badly w/ organization being pretty much the only area needing future improvement. Future tourneys planned, dates/time currently under consideration.
There were, I think, two other things I distinctly remember about the tourney: 1. Nobody seemed to want to go first.
2. The only female entree used an Aristo; while not as experienced as the male regulars and consequently not place high too often, she did take 1st on Fukuoka after the other two vets both messed up.
3. 'ninja' claimed a bathroom emergency, and asked me to cover for him; the problem is, round trip to the bathroom at walking speed's approx +5min, and he was just standing around talking about going to the bathroom instead of actually doing it. (I actually told him "JUST GO ALREADY!") So I hear him 2min later talking behind me...and the first thing I think is WTF. Before "leaving", he told me not to lose; when I ask him why he didn't go, he says (w4w) he "lost the sensation". I told him that "I shoulda taken 3rd just for that" instead of the 2nd I wound up with.
4. The guy who took first place suffered through his later victories. He pretty much got auto-win recognition, but folks kept coming back -- and he put his head in his hands like "Leave me a~l~o~n~e!"
5 I N&Ned that same guy I just mentioned during a 4-way, won w/ 1m advantage.
6. Won 1st in an Osaka 4-way as a 2nd-to-last match; totally destroyed the guys w/ +200m advantage. While most of the races are kinda a blur, one thing stuck out about this race: 'ninja' tried to pass me in the far left (around a ToyoAce) after exiting the Osaka Donut while I took the inner side around.

Last week's chronocology of my maxi tune battles.
It began with staying up at 3pm and staying awake until morning through the night. And it ended with me ending up at the city at 9.00 exact. I payed using my timezone card, 30 games gold package deal for 20AUD$ with my platinum card.
I spent the first half of my games on time attack and ghost and renew my kpgc10. Whilst so i called out the WRXBB10029 robot guy to arrive and he did at 12 til 1pm
That began 24th hour being awake. and after he left, after i beat him 5 games on SSF4 where i dont even play that game often, i went back and battled a familiar person and two.
We raced and it was mostly serious/fun/as serious/racing. I noticed i was faster and found the perfect braking points and braking amounts and timings of the braking and the brake brake brake. And most battles took place in C1.
So i spent 18 remaining games on pure battles. With the regular two hardcore pros with me.
Spec wise, I remember friend a) used an MX-5 or RX-8 or some red small car. and it was tanky as. But it wasn't tanky enough for my kpgc10. and he was so damn competitive mang. it was fun. I kept taking the lead, and doing alot of lethal takedowns in the game.
Friend b arrived and battled us and it was more fun, then he got out his legendary evo 9 and i managed to push it on a straight and we all went w.t.f.
sufficient to say, i was winning lots just as much i've lost. im sure of that. But i learnt and remembered how to play and drive on that game nad it was fun.
Hell. it was so fun, i realized I've actually improved more than i believed i had.
So sometime soon if i can, and when. I will head to the heart of the city and battle some more.
ANd proove some super video gaming skills i have. In these holidays then going back to study something in college/tafe [it counts as college YO!]

Spent most of the day getting whooped by myth as usual... But I do seem to be improving! Going back tomorrow to literally spend the whole day practising Hakone I also can't decide whether to use my S15 or Evo 9 as my main car. The S15 is my favourite car irl but the Evo seems to be some much better. Is the S15 a lot worse than the Evo or worthwhile to use?
