GC8 can handle Osaka fairly well, though its not my favorite course now. I managed to pull a 3'52" but as I said before, i've moved onto bigger and better things. It'll handle C1 and New Belt and Yoko pretty decently though Wangan is sorta a 50-50 type of thing where either the person is good or not. Though that's where my other car comes in.

lol which other car? jza80? But yer wangan is mainly bout speed. Except the traffic. tongue.gif you just gotta dodge them or ram them out of your way. I love cars like the s30z and the gc8 as well as the fc and the e3. Cos they are all lik looked upon and laughed at but in the end we are the winners. laugh.gif

it depends what you are lookin for in a car. If you are lookin for handling... go for the gdb-f. But if u are lookin for speed, go for the gdb-c. Either way.... u will hav a good car. wink2.gif Cos they are fairly similar, except for those 2. But they hav minor differences.

@Pimp
The GDB series are for posers...Get the GC8 - Imprezza STi Version 5!

Now THATS a legendary car!!

But unfortunately, everyone picks the GDBF for its superiority...Somewhere in this thread theres a match up between the GDBF and the GDBC...Maybe 2 pages back? 5 max...

yer the gc8 is awesome. But it is not a beginners car. It is more of an experimental car. You must know quite abit about the parts to place on this car, to make it good.

Yeh im starting to see a lot of cars sliding a HELL of a lot more than my lil baby...

Im sorta experimenting with the wheels, but i like the Yoko RCII's the best, followed by the Enkei Rc-T4, but i wanna try the Super Adavanced and the Forged wheels, and the eight spoked also...

Then most of all i just wanna get my Aero A back in, i hate Aero B and C feels like im lugging a rock behind me...I might even go stock...

Can anyone help me with the difference between the A and the stock kits?

Also - Just a general question
Does hoods and mirrors change anything, cuz i might revert back to my original hood if it doesnt?

I guess reduce the weight as much as u can so carbon hood, aero mirrors and experiment with the rear wings...

Im not too sure about aero kits, but C is most likely the heaviest, so if u feel it slides too much, change it to that, A provides more acell but at the cost of being more slidey and B may be more stable on straights, but at the cost of acell and handling..

Mind u these are MINOR adjustments, of maybe 10% to all parameters at the most lol...

As for tires, Go to the wheels guide on the main page and search the last 2 pages of the type of tires is good for what, if memory serves me right, enkei's are good for handling and Yoko is good for All round...just check on the page...

Personal preference is the RCII by yoko - good wheel for handling, but the Enkeis are also good...just check that guide for something u want lol...

As i said, it all depends on personal preference...the wheels require the less amount of caution, as u can change them every 2 or so levels...The aero kits are the most cautious, make sure u like the look of them before u change, since ur gunna be stuck with them for a VERY long time, same with the hood and mirror, the rear wing is in between, but check the dress up level guide for more information.

XD, did you have to kick him in the balls with that post XD.

lol, anyways, was thinking of getting a GDB-F but then I was looking a the Legacy and was wondering if I should use it instead. I know the Impreza defeats the purpose of the Legacy in this game, but I'm more of a large sports sedan kind of guy than I am a compact sedan =P.

So anymore ever driven the Legacy by any chance?

@Spike Razzor

I've tried the Legacy already.
Its' acceleration is equivalent as an FD, but handles as good as the CT9A-8MR.

Because of the "slim" body, the Legacy could slip between 2 cars easily, but it doesn't lose the ability to "push" opponents car.

I've only raced against a Legacy, even then it was a ghost battle. But from what I can tell, if you can control it, it handles pretty decently on Hakone as well. Not sure how well it does on the other courses overall, but I guess I can assume that its not that much of a difference compared to the GC8 & GDB-C/F.

As far as the people asking about dress up specs, go out there and experiment. There is "NO" best setup since it only affects the behavior of the car and not to mention that some people don't even know what they want their car to do. Honestly, I'd just try out one setup, and just keep going at it till I find something that fits my style.

Btw, as far as the Bunta mobile is on the topic, I wouldn't mind a coupe version of the GC8 or even the 22B. But the Version.VI is as close as you're going to get, except that it has an extra set of doors. Aside from the weight, there's not much difference except cosmetically and probably the tuning of the EJ20 since Bunta's car is "fictional" though it does have the STi/22B Front end.

Aw....I wanted the GC8V...or GC8F as wiki calls it...so confused blink.gif

Oh well the GC8G is good enough i guess, but im just gunna call it the GC8, same concept and looks so yeah, aside from the doors as Aoshi pointed out, there looks to be no difference.

Anyways, lets focus on Max tune for now lol

Aoshi - can u offer any tips for better times on Osaka and Hakone? I think im shifting down to 3rd to much on both...whats the ideal shift down point in either?

Currently i shift down in osaka when speed goes under 240 and in Hakone under 170 or in tight turns, most notabily the conseq S turns.

Is that too high to drop it down a gear?

@fknazn

IMHO, you don't need the 3rd gear on Osaka.
For my type of driving on Hakone, i put my gear into 3rd only on a few turns that is really tight. I think there are 3 turns that needs 3rd gear on both Hakone Inbound / Outbound.
But from what I've heard from a few Hakone pros, 5-geared car only needs to shift down to 4 in Hakone. So, you don't need the 3rd gear. But, I found it quite hard not to shift down to 3, as my exit speed is still slow on those corners, and if I didn't put my gear into 3, i would lose the optimum acceleration of my car.

I'm still waiting for my LEGACY to be Fully-tuned though.. I asked my friend to FT it in Indonesia, so that I could save lots of money.. (around 40c/game in Jakarta, and $2/game in Sydney...)

I guess its in how refined ur lines and exit speeds are huh..

I guess theres only 1 place for 3rd gear in Osaka...

As with hakone, i need to refine my run more before i stop relying on 3rd gear to save me lol...

There isnt any GC8 time attack videos...noooooo lol

I watch heaps of em, so yeah, maybe i should TA this week lol

Theres 2 places in osaka where you go down to 3rd gear in a 5 gear car.

The first red right turn in CP1.

The first red right turn in CP4.

As for Hakone, you only use 3rd for the 3 red turns. But even then, you can stick to 4th gear without any problems. It is not necessary to use 5th gear.
