Hey guys - im just wondering if its worth seriously tunning a legacy?

A comparison to a GC8 would be awesome lol

If i'm not mistaken, a Legacy is pretty good though it doesn't quite have the same amount of handling that the GC8 does. But aside from that, you should go ahead and start one anyways.

Try my OM, and you'll find your GC8 > legacy by far.

Here's what I can say about the Alcyone SVX;
It probably has the highest top speed in the game, but you have to be very steady to use it properly. The 4 spd is a let down for some, but if you think about it, that means you only have 2 gears you need to work with once you start racing. 3 for cornering, 4 for straightaways. Very quickly you realize how destructive this car can really be. Another nice thing is it's pretty much impervious to collisions. Other players just waste their time when they try and push you around.

But feel free to think it's icky and not use it, it's lack of player is what makes it cool.

Also I've gotten mine up to 352km/h. You have to drive pretty much a perfect line on the wangan straight to achieve that kind of speed. Most people don't even know there is a line on the wangan.

It's 5:47am here. Do you seriously expect me to get pictures just right now? I dunno, I'll get them... Maybe. No offense but I'm in no rush to prove anything to you. Take my word for it, or don't. Neither really effects me.

I'll probably go play again today. I'll see if I can hit it again, it was one of those one in a million chances I pulled it off. It was also during a battle, not a TA, so boost may have had something to do with it.

boost doesn't change your speedo, it just makes you go faster. Your speed will remain the "same"

and if you can hit 352, Alcyone's will be ruling the wangan times. instead, there are only 4 or 5 up there.

lol, now I'm inclined to do it again, however my path was not NewCircular, we were on yokohane north, we came over on the rainbow bridge, ooi I believe, we came down the ramp there heading south on wangan, at the bottom of the first tunnel is where I hit it. It struggled at 350, made 351, and I caught a glimpse of 352 before it started going down.

Whatever though, what's my one freak account when compared to some guy no one's ever met who tested the car a full 10 times?

that's the place you'll hit your car's top speed...

only time you'll break those speeds is story mode, when you're being pushed along by the Blackbird/Devil Z

IF it's 352km/hr for TA...

it doesn't count, because there's boost.

even with boost, car's speed doesnt change tho. Like how if a guest challenges a FT car, the guest can be going at 23X compared to the 30X of the FT, but then still be catching up.

give him the benefit of the doubt.

If a person who has boost hits him from behind, the speedometer will act like that since you're not on boost so it will show the "real" speed. I've gone 350 many times in battle because of that.

Shadow pretty much summed up what I think was going on. There was some boost involved and such. Now that I'm aware we use TA as the benchmark, my argument becomes invalid. Sorry.

Truth be told, there's no action on the TA boards at our arcade. It's all about the ghost mode.

Depends on what you're looking for in as far as setup goes, i.e. TA, Ghost, Battling, etc.

Well its really upto u....go for wat ya want in terms of looks...

In terms of handling...my suggestion for the WRX series is either the enkei rc-t4 or the yokohama advan rcII or forged rims

aero kit is upto u, but usually C is heaviest and slides least, but A is lightest but slides most...

carbon hood and wing is upto u

Umm...ok...

I guess the first thing u gotta do is decide what u wanna do with the car itself, as in, make it faster in the straights but slide more, or slower in straights but slide less...

It all depends on ur drive style...and the cars specs...

but that sounds like a good set up for battle, but be careful with rammers, as ur settings will give u mild protection...but then again, defensive driving can counter that

Go the GT straight wing, its a good wing for turning, but i have no idea wat it does for acell and top speed...my guess is that it lowers it slightly

Not everyone hre is singaporean... gonna be hard for some to understand that last bit..

coz we dont know what you're looking for, whether you want grip, drift, etc etc etc

I more into grippy ones as top spd doesnt really matters to me.. I prefer playing at NBL and C1

and sometimes top spd also not much..if unlucky last min bang on traffic also useless..=P

Having a TA set up just for one course is pretty lame IMO...u wanna just have one set up thats very flexible...

Although, since u wanna specialize in yoko, Aero B looks alright for u...apparently its the best for all scoobys despite its looks...

GT straight wing, Carbon hood and the previously mentioned rims would be alright for yoko...but if u get challenged on another course, u COULD be in trouble...

Most people would agree that having a single set up for all courses is the best way to go, gives u flexibility for everything

I agree that having a single setup for all courses is the best, but i just want my car to have a slight advantage when doing TA in yoko.
