What DU parts are on yours? If I can recall correctly, mine has:

Aero E
Yokohama Advan TCII
3D Wing
FRP Hood B
Stock Mirrors
Stock Trunk Lid

As far as I can recall...

--Stock Aero
--Yokohama Advan TC II
--Carbon front hood with duct
--Aero mirror
--Stock trunk
--Works sticker
--Neon straight (blue)

I never really imagined putting an aero kit on the GC8, even back in IDAS days.

When I originally was running around with my GC8 in 3DX and 3DX+, I slapped on the Stock Aero. Then I transferred it over to MT4, and it wasn't cutting it.

So I had to use Aero A for most of the time, but Aero E made it a whole lot lighter.

Aero C is just......... ugly!

Oh and you didn't mention what wing you were using.....

As much as I'm curious to what Aero E feels like, I'm good with stock.

Speaking of stock, I'm using the stock rear wing.

Aero A looks good in my eyes.... have'nt touched my GC8 for more than a year now, somehow didn't felt the magic of that car.... nonetheless I picked up that 3DX+ card when that player left it and didn't even bother to get it back rolleyes.gif

Tried out Aero F when I got it, just doesn't feel right.

Brian, you can refer to the WMMT4 DU parts thread for the parts on the GC8. I've contributed most of those.

I also have a GC8, but I never used it for a long time now.
I'm sure I will have the E8 syndrome once I use it again. Its not FTed either.

How long have you not been using it for?

I think I haven't used mine ever since I almost finished JC Loop 2, which was like 4 months back.

Im finally tuning up my Legacy 2.5GT S and finding it quite a pleasure to drive, seems to have good acceleration and grip due to it being AWD.

Not sure on battle but I suspect relatively good at blocking due to large size.

A long time.

After I got it up to 420HP/B, I just store it away like the others that I have.

Haven't touched my GC8 since MT5 was released here...........

Since I'm on a hiatus, doubt I will anytime soon.

Wonder how it'll do on Mt. Taikan with the current DU setting.....

Gunma has a video on just that. Right here.

My thoughts are that it's almost as tanky as the Crown.

If you want these subbies against:

Evo 8/9: GDB-C/GDB-F
Evo 5/6: GC8
Evo X: GRB (hatchback impreza)
Sedans like fuga and crown: BM9 (Legacy 2.5)
Wangan for the lolz: Alcyone SVX

I would suggest that you better feel those cars first and regret heavily later on, rather borrow a Fully Tuned ones to see which is good for you

I own a GC8, my thoughts on it is the handling is wonderful.

The big question is are you comfortable using 5-gear or 6-gear cars?

5 gear GC8VI, 6 gear GDB-C are the beginner/solid choices.

Thanks for the suggestions guys; I don't mind either 5 or 6 gear cars but i'm really excited to start training a car. The problem is that where I am ; no one drives subaru's it's either Evo8/9 or r32's for days. Making a decision will be hard but in my mind it's either the GDB-F/C or the GC8. What would be the pro's and con's for each? Thanks again, much appreciated smile.gif.

Pros and Cons of...

GC8
Pro: Great handling, easy to use, great engine/turbo sound
Cons: Not as quick as the GDB series, light, easily outgunned

GDBF
Pro: Quick off the mark, great handling
Cons: sometimes light and easily outgunned

GBDC:
Pros: Quicker off the mark than the F, handles better
Cons: sometimes considered lighter than the F

TL;DR
Pick your favourite and let your skill do the talking. The choice of car does not govern win/lose, your skill does.

Yep.... it will be darn sweeter if you win against some wangan powerhouses in their turf...

As I said for the lolz especially Wangan straights, and by gear/transmission class its the only car can reach 351kmh and reaching nearly R35's TA times

They're basically the same equivalents of the Mitsubishi brand. GDB-C/Evo VIII are handling machines with an above average battling ability.. GDB-F/Evo IX has acceleration with more tendency to slide. GC8 is smaller and nimble (also has the nice giant WRX logo in the back). Really it's personal preference, even the SVX can do well on C1 other than being a total Wangan machine. It will all come down to skill, with more appreciation for lesser used/more difficult cars.
