My comments with the R2 thus far after a single weekend of using it...

--Needs more countersteering
--Doesn't handle harsh wheel movements too well
--Surprised to see it hit weak 349 km/h on NBL CW
--Concedes start-up on ghost VS every single time
--Could be fun (I hope?) once I get the hang of it

Can't say much for VS battles since I've yet to have one with it...

======

@ vash944: Remember that old Kanagawa run you did using your Suica R2? I really should go back and re-watch your last CP because I lost a lot of time there in my one-shot run LOL.

What kind of differences are you looking for between the two?

oh that.... Lelz here's what I did on that 2 dreadful turn on Kanagawa

upon entryway to rainbow bridge there is an access way the signal to this is when Yellow Left signal comes out you can either:
- Downshift and turn left and apex the curve
- Brake lightly and turn left and apex the curve with ending it on downshift

then again what I usually did is brake lightly (not too hard) and turn left and when goes the 2nd one downshift from 4 to 3 and turn right your speed should go above 200+ km/h for most efficient drift end acceleration speed

^ For the yellow turn, I normally brake + turn then downshift, but what happened was that I'd scrape the inside wall for losing too much speed.

On the red turn, I did downshift to 3rd and go in more smoothly, managed to exit 210+ km/h... ultimately ending up with 9'12"809 on my second crack yesterday.

----

I'm currently using Aero C + Yokohama Advan ver. 2 rims on R2. With a car like that, DU parts hardly matter at all IMO.

They handle the same as they're the same car, just under different branding. I own both.

Are you sure? TA records tell a very different story.

That's my opinion when I was driving them.

Besides, I don't TA.

I'd like to think of the toyobarus as similar to the CT9As, or Ryu and Ken of Street Fighter.

The GT86 being the one that excels in TA and with relatively sublime handling like the Evo8

The BRZ and Evo9 have less grip but recover faster and overall more tailored to battle.

Note that this doesn't mean you can't clock in decent times with a BRZ nor does it mean you can't hold your own in a battle with a GT86.

EDIT: Drove a mate's 86 and he drove my BRZ. damn that thing was an easier beast to tame, it just obeys every command you give it. The BRZ will comply, but is more tsuntsun about it. And he like the recovery of the BRZ as he took it battling.

maybe Street Fighter II tier... wherein subtle difference between the two unless in WMMT5DX that the devs did change completely beyond those two...

in the original SF2 wherein Ryu and Ken is kinda similar albeit very miniscule differences... the changes occur in Super Street Fighter 2 those two guys are now different having same fighting styles

till then I can't even point out the real difference between those two just yet

Dress up and custom colours. that's the most noticeable difference.

Well it would probably be easier to adjust your driving from a BRZ to an 86 and vice versa than say ummm, From FD to a corolla

Or even GC8 to R2 LOL. Well, they're close as far as top speed is concerned. Both hit weak 349 km/h on NBL CW; Kanagawa CP5&6 times are roughly the same.

Handling, acceleration (most notably start-up), and recovery tell a different story though.

So the 86 is more consistent than BR*Z?

Sorry for the wrong info. I have done a lot of testing recently.

Changes in the suitable aeros for Subaru cars:

SVX : Aero set C >>> Stock aero.
GRB : Aero set C >>> Aero set E.

As for the new cars like BRZ, Levorg and the new STI, I am still exploring.

I am currently tuning my Toyota FT86, will explore the suitable aero for the new Subaru cars soon.

Sorry for the late reply. shifty2.gif shifty2.gif shifty2.gif
