QUOTE (grimsolace @ 16 minutes, 17 seconds ago) | Sadly, when it touches the first mark on the redline, the earlier the better (For mt4)
In 3dx+, it had lots of variables, like u can over-rev and it works...
I used to play mt, I mained an R34, its buffed as f**k in MT4 but the point stands, shift as you see fit, but earlier, better.
During metagame/battle, delay or prolong your shifting time and points for maximum effects. |
right now i'm using the racing meter so the moment the lights go up i shift

the logic, as laid down by sir Grimsolace previously, worked for every meter, but it would be easier for one to make it a habit, the best way you feel the speed in-game, and the max point (say I shift at the moment I saw the km/h thing slowed down...(say it goes very fast first, and slowed down as the revs reached the max).... whatever you see fit, it will be better served as the answer to your question

Yep. It all comes down to personal preference, experiment and find out, sure you may lose a game and one wrong stall delay or prolonged shifting times will cost heavily, But will you choose to learn from it than to angrily forget the moment and not learn from it and pay another game?
No man, just learn from the error, despite losing, you know it will work or not work next time. And that's makes you stronger.
Experience.
Also i'm full of s*** but hey its still true.
You don't have to shift the moment it lights up, u can shift when its still lighted and blinking, just don't wait too long to the point you hear "rev-stalling" noise.

yep.....if the environment is quiet enough, one may hear the sound of the revs changed a bit (while the pointer is at the max point)....from that, I have learned the way to shift.... the next step, to be frank enough, is to make the shifter your friend, I know it is not very essential or always worked the best...to understand the fact that, people may sometimes mess up with the shifter, or do not make the movement as smooth as he can.... you may also be given to understand that, as your own POV was focusing on the screen, not many people is able to divert your focus a short while if you are making the shift, it may result in a not-so-smooth gear shifting, or stalling... I am learning to look on my left hand side while doing gear-shifting, and of course, the best thing for me, would be the appropriate moment to shift....
