at least while at osaka
the lowest gear used is probably 4 in turns - 6 geared cars

you only would have to goto 4th for 2 corners of osaka in a 6 gear car
being first red turn and then sharp right hand turn in cp4
otherwise all 5th/6th gear

hmm...probably the thing is cranky, cant detect the position of the gears properly...but i dont understand y it happens most in TA and lest in everything else.

hmm, try just slowing down the right speed for gear 3? instead of jumping to gear 3 straight..i duno..

How do you guys actually are able to get times in Yokohane like 2'55''XXX or 2'54''XXX? Do you get very close to the walls on corners bc I've been doing that and I'm not doing very hot.

how do i get the celsior?

Go to the Toyota Chaser while your shifter is in neutral then shift to 6 then 4 then 3. This code works on the older machines. Not sure about MT3 but gameFAQs seems to indicate this is still so.

It's still the same.
The hard/easy setting is just to indicate the level of difficulty of the specific map.
For example in Wangan, an easy one might be a straight run from Wangan East to West or vice versa, while a hard one might be a run starting from Wangan entering the Oi Branoh branch to get into Yokohane and all the way into C1.

should i finish up the story mode before i go for dress up?

Depends on what your priorities are.

If your making your car unshaded, best to wait off dress up mode.

If you don't care, do whatever you want.

I have a question which car is best overall out of the following:

Lancer Evolution IX MR (CT9A)
Skyline GT-R (BNR34)
Fairlady Z (Z33)
Impreza WRX STI (GDB-F)
Impreza WRX STi (GDB-C)
Supra (JZA80)

@batousaii: I'm pretty sure it's a typo lol

@Jicky: from my experience EVO IX is the most well balanced out of your choices. However if you are brand new and want to get good at the game I suggest picking a lower tier car before you move on to your most competetive vehicle. The Supra is good for learning on an FR. It's fast on the straights but doesn't seem to continue sliding or feel as uncontrollable as much as the Z33 at top speed. Please note that I drive Skylines mostly so other people may have very different opinions about these cars.

Oh. Im not that new at the game anymore. I first started and thought it was the hardest game in the world o_o As a 13 year old i don't even know how to drive but as days passed i stayed at the arcade for like 3 straight hours and I drive a Evo 5 w/ 720HP/D. I got pretty use to the game and I wanted to know what car was like fastest and easiest to drive. If its fast, nice but hard to drive ill manage

ive been using my fc for the longest and right now im stuck on this one race but i forgot which one it is lol, i havent played with my fc in a while cause i got a z30 and have been doing pretty well with it. whats the longest any of you have had a card on here or car? mines been since 05'

Mr K. are you playing mt3 or 2? because 2 is much harder than three. also FC is a mid to low tier car and is pretty noob-un-friendly.

my cards are like 6 months old lol. just started this game a while ago.

what's a Z30?

prob a typo. can someone state the pros and cons of the legacy, gc, gdbf and d, and all the evo's except 8 and 9?
