You only have to complete the loop. The current story loop you are in MT2 will be carried over to MT3, so you're gonna have to complete that loop to get it unshaded.

How many chapters are there in story mode for MT3 and MT3DX? Also, what is the max hp available in each version?

for MT3, 80 stories, max hp = 820hp

For DX and DX+ , 100 stories, max hp = 825hp

if you transfer a 820hp car from MT3 to DX/DX+ , you complete 20 more stories (100-80) to get 825hp

For getting max hp in versions 3 and up, does the shaded/unshaded status count?

Maxi 3 and up, shaded or unshaded, it doesn't matter. You'll still get 820/825.

So what would happen if I have a shaded MT2 card that has completed chapter 79 but has not completed chapter 80 transfered to MT3 and then clear the 80th stage on MT3?

You complete a loop, and the card becomes unshaded

Once u shaded on any verison u can unshade by doinf story again without losing once ur done the first loop, thats in any verison

so what ever stat that was last on played on story mode once u transfer to mt3 it stay the same unless u change

Does completing a story loop to get unshaded apply for just transferring from MT2 to MT3? Or if I get shaded in MT3 will I have to complete another story loop to get unshaded upon transferring to MT3DX? Or will the shaded status reset automatically when I transfer from MT3 onwards?

The story loop completion applies to all versions past MT2, as transfers will carry over your shaded status regardless of version until you complete the loop to reset to unshaded status.

Lets say that I lose in the current story loop just after transferring a shaded card. Will I have to complete another whole loop without losing to become unshaded, or will the shaded status become unshaded if I simply finish the current story loop, regardless of losses?

You'll have to complete another loop.

You have to unlock rims of the same brand as your current one to be able to adjust the color of your current rims.

Yup, MT1-2 and Midnight R soundtracks would be unlocked.

When you finally reach dressup level 63, does your level still increase beyond that, or does it stay at 63? If you can go beyond level 63, is there any benefits for doing it?

Once you reach the maximum DU level, every DU meter completed from there will allow you to change any one dress up part you want.

you can go beyond 63but you wont unlock any more parts. instead, you get the option of changing one of your dressup parts.

as others said, every level after 63 you get to change one of the parts you have equipped if you want.

the only other thing is you can get certain titles for reaching X level on ghost mode. see below
