Yo ken, give me a GTO discard if you have one since you're local. biggrin.gif I've been wanting to try one out for a while, but never got around to it. And I love heavy cars oh-so very much. :3

No problem bro, just give me a PM for the location and days that you're free.

Doesnt the CF ducted hood feel heavier and slows accel vs the cf non-ducted
I just want an opinion if possible
THX

My problem with the base carbon bonnet was turning, not accel (if I ever noticed it). With the ducted carbon, my Evo9 was able to handle Osaka's S-turn way better.

LOL
I noticed the handling was better using the ducted carbon vs teh regular carbon
But I also noticed something with teh accel
Just like how Kepa doesnt use the ducted anymore because he said it affects accel IDK
I just wanted to know if this is only me or does anyone else notice

skyangel91: Yes how does it feel
And please tell us your set up ^^

So you are trying to gain more speed in your Evo IX?
Start off with this
Adding aero kits improves your handling
But in turn adds weight in which slows down your speed
Try using the Stock kit
Its the lightest
Or you can start off by using aero kit a

I currently use this one
Stock aero
Staright GT wing
CF bonnet no ducts
Yokohama T5
Aero mirrors (Yes they are called mirrors and not wings ^^)

Well
Taking the wing off definetly allows the car to be lighter and faster
But I never dared to go wingless even if the Evo V is grippy in the beginning
Have you tried it on Hakone?
I wanna see ^^

Wow....
Thats pretty cool ^^
LOL
A bit slidy
But I tend to say my style is grippy and light
But I think I said it wrong
Like I need more slide than grip when I play
Like C1 Inbound
I need the slide
Or I hit the pillars XP
LOL
Accel becomes better on any car with teh wing removed
Maybe I might take mines off
Just to see

yup u sacrifice handling for acceleration. cos the theory of spoiler (wing) is to add more down-force or "drag" at the rear of your car; thus the handling.

LOL
I knew that already
But since this is a game
The wings dont give the same amount of downforce when compared to the ones in real life

Rly o.O?
The do you feel that the Carbon hood with ducts doesnt affect accel too?
Just an opinoin
Because people say that it just makes the car handle better and lighter
Nothing else

Man...i should make a n00bs FAQ on Setups..

there is NO perfect setup that manages to increase both accel and handling, otherwise, EVERYONE would use that setup

there are, however, set ups that are either balanced or skewed to one direction or another...

Therefore, work with the set up that works best for u..

EG: if i perfect my slide/accell setting for my car and u drive it, it wont mean crap when ur hitting walls and losing speed due to that, bcuz ur not used to MY personal set up

My best suggestion is to tell us what you want your car to do, are u happy with it, do u want more slide or more grip

Generally, the amount of grip is dependant on weight, which in turn makes ur cars accel faster or slower, more grip, less acell, more slide, more acell

Thats the rule of thumb but yes, watev...

ANYWAYS, ur car might lose speed in the turns a lot more than most E8s due to ur weight issue, however, ur gunna have a LOT of grip so u can turn later than most and regain that grip in turns to allow faster recovery out of turns...

although, the response when u turn might suffer due to ur rim..., but ur 3dGT wing might help, but i doubt it does...

Ur set up is moderate for all courses, ur turns are where ur battles are to be won, not on the straights
