do you know that setting for your E8 will make you fly out of your window? =_=

to those that want a proper e8 setting to try out, try:

Aero C, Straight gt wing, yoko RCII/Enkei forged, carbon hood with duct, aero mirror.

That setting is fast and grippy enough, but it's not the best in battles. still can be pushed around but if handled well, i don't think you need to push anyone with it anyway

One of my E8's is using the exact same setup, except for the hood, which I'm using stock.

My other E8 is using the exact same setup as my first E8, but with stock aero.

It's great everywhere, but the RCII's makes it grip quite a bit...hard to do C1 OB's tunnel S turn in CP4 with.

Yokohama's Super Advan Racing Ver 2 Tri-spokes still seem to be better for TA, because they're much easier to control.

I use that exact set-up that death said (aero c, gt wing straight, TE-37's, carbon hood w/duct) a few things i've found that may be helpful in terms of rims. Enkei Forged Ltd. If you like grip go for this wheel, it grips like crazy. If you want a very drifty car with good accel go yoko. super adv. ver2. If you want your car somewhere in the middle but more towards the drift side put on your TE-37's. Just a few observations from my experiences. hope it helps out someone.

I've found that for E8: Aero A, 2D Wing, Yoko Advan RCII, aero mirrors, and the FRP hood (non carbon) is a great setup for both TA and battle. I shed a second off my TA time on hanshin by changing to that setup, feels really stable.

@furanz - mayb the yoko RCII or the 3 spokes. smile.gif

RCII for more grip, 3 spokes for less. laugh.gif

@Rev-Dan - I think RX2 meant 3D wing. tongue.gif

@Furanz
I suggest you try out the TE-37's or yoko super adv. ver2. cuz ur using aero A it's more stable than C i think. So using a drifty rim wold make sense i guess. Experiment to find whats good for u though turned.gif.

omg that is such a good transition...

at the low dressups, have...
Aero kit A (lvl 1)
carbon fibre hood (lvl 4)
3 spoke (lvl 5)
GT straight wing (lvl 8)
normal mirrors (stock)

then once you get aero kit C at lvl 24, switch to...
aero kit C at lvl 24
carbon ducted hood at lvl 26
aero mirrors at lvl 30
rays TE-37 at lvl 31 (cos of unlockin rays vs. gabbana)
and of course keep your GT straight wing.

GREAT transition... from one good setup to another. biggrin.gif

Yea, if it's for TA, i guess you gotta properly tune it with proper parts. but i'm looking at overall. heh.

and death, i wanna ask you. do you use the e8 often enough to give that much suggestions on the car? just a question. no hidden meaning.

no not yet. I love playin wit my friend's e8 thou. biggrin.gif that is why I decided to make the e8 my next car. Ive driven it quite abit... eg. he asked me to do some races for him. So yes, I have driven it but not alot, cos its my car. But if u dun consider that alot, then its your opinion. Anyways, I tuned my friend's evo8 to the Aero Kit A and TE-37 setup that I and Rev-Dan always brag about and it IS good. So biggrin.gif.

Is that for the E8 or E9???

I'm really not sure about a setup for my E9, i've got my E8 setup done. But atm i'm struggling with the E9 lol.
Any suggestions?

my setup now is:
aeroC
3D wing
FRP hood (not carbon)
Enkei forged

i just changed the hood from carbon ducted to the non carbon hood, and its too heavy at the front and the black slides out way too much.

anyone got a good setup for E9?

like again, do you drive enough of the e9 yourself, hmm?

it's not whether it's my opinion or not. you seem to mislead a lot of people to have shit setups like your evo9 examples.. and it is $$$ (which in case you have the luxury of because you have 90% of the cars in wmmt) that is going to waste and people are gonna get pretty difficult setups for the cars, when there are better suggestions for them.

cut down more on your postwhoring (though i'm in no position to tell you that), and if you have something to share, please make it valid and not just a "maybe"(like your e9 suggestions). We don't even know what your suggested setups will do to the car.

for the e9:

If you want a battle setting:

Aero C,
3D Gt-Wing,
Watanabe Cyclone,
Hood with Duct,
Normal Mirrors.
(It is said that this is the perfect battle setting for the e9, and I've personally tried it. Very tough setting to master but rewarding if you do. I knocked a couple of hardcore battlers around with this setup before.)

If moderate setting:

Aero A,
3D Gt-wing,
Yokohama RCII,
Carbon hood with duct,
Aero Mirrors.
(This setting grips and the car doesn't slide as much as stock. It's pretty much good for TAs and battles if you're fast enough. It's like the jack of all trades for the evo9.)

Pure TA setting.

(Now this is subjective as some people can get faster times with different settings for each map. But there are few components of the car that will help it be different.)

Wheels:

For grip, use: 57F
For extra slides, use: Yokohoma 3 spokes, stock rims.

Wing:

This depends on how much you want your car to grip.

the grip chart goes like this.
3d wing> straight wing> Wing by type of car> stock wing> no wing

Aero:

Aero kit A helps balance the car out and gives a little more grip than stock. I haven't seen any accel difference, so yea. Aero C will stabalise the car but at the same time kills its accel which is the evo9's most powerful tool in TAs. But it depends on your style of driving, so up to you.

Always have on your car: Carbon hood with duct, aero mirrors.

I agree with what you say in the first three paragraphs...

and most of what else is there... but i like the straight GT wing... ^^
totally true tho. e9's greatest weapon is its accel. Imo, this is what sets the e9 apart from the e8... one has slightly better handling, the other accel.

btw you missed out on the wing by type of car, as well as the aero wing.

ok, corrected it already.

About the aero kit wings, it just follows the aero kit's attributes. So it's like the stock wing in a sense. It does nothing except follow the original aero setup of the car

I thought the Evo 9 has better handling rather than better acceleration. I've tried both the Evo 8 and 9 and I have to say that the Evo 8 is better at acceleration whilst the Evo 9 has better handling/grip.

@shadow_z3r0 - yes I hav driven the evo9. But I neva got around to FTin it cos I decided to use other cars, but in that time I did try out my mate's e9 and I always ask his opinion about it.

O and thanks for the setups, Ill past them to my friend and ask him wat he thinks of them. wink2.gif

@roxas3 - lol same here, I tot the e8 has the acceleration and e9 has the grip. But it always changed for me. But alot of the time I cant tell the dif anyways. I know a few guys that hav an e8 and says the e9 is beta and vice versa. (in terms of handling and acceleration) I had once heard from someone tat the e8 is beta overall. So that is some food for thought isnt it. Also there are many e8s in the top 100 of wmmt3 rankings. Also the e8 is classified as the "beginner's" car. So tells u another thing about the car. In the end, its all about the person just drivin a car they like. In my case, its the s30 and z33. tongue.gif

I noticed the Evo8 and Evo9 have abbreviations at the end like "MR RS" and "MR GSR". I tried looking them up, but haven't found much on it. Would like an answer to sate my curiosity.

And before I forget - I noticed my Evo8 was a "MR GSR" until I moved onto white, where it turned into an "MR RS". WTF gives?

It's nothing really.

It's just some real life abbreviations for that car. I'm not entirely sure, but in real life, the gsr version has more functions and stuff..

but it doesn't matter in the game. =)

and sorry for a pretty late reply to the handling bit.

evo8 grips more than the evo9 in eneral. If you feell that it's different, then maybe it's just you or...it's just you. =P

Its lik VRX, RX and so forth... its just the amount of features. But mayb GSR is lik Grand Sedan Rally? Cos evoX has GSR and RS.
