Hey just wondering... Is ur car wif that rims considered drifty or grip?

I'm currently using Advance RS rims and i find it to be too stiff for me in the new DX+ version.. Currently looking for something slightly more drifty smile.gif

Can try it out. I've no issues with it for now.

so let's say i have an evo IX and that i've been super struggling in hakone TA only achieving the bare minimum of 4'47'xxx (ver. DX+ of course)

and that my setup has too much slide causing me to lose exit speed:

aero A
carbon fiber hood w/ duct
stock mirrors
standard straight wing
superADVAN (3spoke)

for anyone that has reached 4'40'xxx or lower (no BS please) what would you recommend in altering?
i have pre-set the course to 760hp and ran through the all of inbound and outbound w/o crashing (minimal gas-off as much as possible)

Then change your Straight wings to 3D wings. Gives a bit more grip.

I'd suggest 3d-wing too but wondering... are you hitting the apexes perfectly and exiting around millimetres away from the wall?

My lowest time with e9 on hokene is 4'42'xxx thats with crashing a few times lol. I wouldent try altering your e9, but practice hokone on 800hp get use to making turns, and hug close to the wall. Then slowly work your way down to 760hp. Get use to 800hp its the only way to get better...

Agree, practise makes perfect... The more you play, the more you learn and adapt to the course... and your times will gradually tumble!

ohh, you may be on to me! it just so happens that i don't always hit the best apexes and usually at CP2 i think? w/ that deadly S turn after the red turn going downhill is where i usually lose a good amount of speed.

ohh and i'm progressively running the outbound part w/o braking on most of the red turns. the hard red turn in CP4 is the only 1/2 parts i use the brakes for only like 1 or 2 seconds.

@everyone else thanks for your input. when i started hakone i started at 4'55'xxx onto 4'47'xxx after a week. hopefully one day i'll be able to break the 4'40'xxx area (:

Might be why... you should hardly break at all... Try turning earlier and sliding into the corner and hitting the apex... You will enter with higher speeds and exit the turn faster and higher exit speed provided you don't crash...

Two things. Carbon fiber hood with duct, lighter, but weaker, but faster. 2nd, wheels, TCII Or 57F's

Remember one of the very first DX+ pics which featured a GTO and the jokes flew about as to what if the GTO was the new top tier...?

Well, hot damn. Imagine my surprise when I changed mine over today! XD

The handling/weight distribution is so much better, it's not every funny, and this is even with stellars (which are now substandard in my book). Didn't do any battles, but ghost went way better than expected, and I didn't have to fight the damn thing like I did back in DX. I don't think the top speed/retardedly good accel has crossed over though. Even my friend's Evo caught up super fast on straights, but perhaps I need to mess with the DU. Still, a pleasant surprise nonetheless. Maybe the title I got today foreshadows the future? :3

Nice, at least some cars got upgraded rather than just the godly cars! I'll stick with my e9 and something else!

I was thinking of doing an Evo3 and I don't know where to start. Any ideas? I'll be using this most of the time in Hakone, Wangan and Osaka.

Well, it's a good little car! Cars should be able to drive all courses... just a matter of the driver getting the best advantages out of the car and trying to cover up the weakness... Skill is very important!

Hell, i drive big cars on hakone and c1 yet still survive...

Do you want to tune one from scratch?

hey guys! so i did a minor change to my evo IX and changed my carbon fiber hood w/ duct back to the original stock FRP hood. i had hope to get a bit more grip, but it turns out that the stock hood actually tends to slide.

i'm a bit confused because i thought that FRP hoods are generally heavier than carbon thus leading to more downforce, thus more grip. so in the end i reverted back to carbon fiber w/ duct.

*tested on hakone to support my findings.

Ducted carbon bonnet aside, what's the rest of your setup?
