Call me stupid but atm my friend just bought an ss9 rename of evo9 and let me borrow it. Since its such a maddballs car and everyone is advising me to ft a car myself. I was gonna actually use the rename till it discards THEN ft it from there.

ANYWAYS, in the mean time i just want to know a really good balanced set up for the evo9. I don't TA with it mainly just battles where i need decent ram/handling/accel.

Myself is an Evo 9 user from the first time I play. Evo 9 is very famous for its skiddy fiesta so here's my Dress-up.

Enkei TARMAC ( In case you dunno, its lv 5 ) or TCII
3D Wings
Stock Mirrors
Carbon Duct Hood
Aero A ( Or Stock would be just fine )

This setup is pretty popular in my area so you can give it a shot. No harm.

It has some quite decent acceleration but it has excellent handling. Ramming is pretty decent as well but wouldn't fare well against REALLY heavy cars like the R34 and Supra. That's from my experience.

I think a balanced set up from dx would be Stock body, FRP hood, 3-spoke, and 3d-wing...

That should be balanced to the heavy side... but might work out better on dx+ if it is so called slipperier on there...

well in regards to "preference" going ALL stock will allow you to feel the performance of the car before you determine what you need whether it be more grip or slide. i suggest you get to "know" your car first since it was brushed on you rather then choosing your own car. after that you can tell us what you actually need

Sorry for my noobness, but could you please explain to me how the settIng can benefit me better from the other settings? Like I think evo 8/9 the aeros should be either stock or A. Why is evo X so different?

Thinking of stock aero, carbon ducted hood, JS+M's 3d wing, normal mirrors, Pretty fast.

This is because evo x is much more heavier and longer than the other evo's so its not as manouverable or as godly as the other two cars... So using the weight and length advantage... Try to add more weight to outram/block people...

I see.. So will that actually hinders my acceleration or handling or top speed due to the weight?

Acceleration, technically, but use the weight as an advantage, not the other way around.

Well
If you dont want it to be heavy
You can try this
Here is what I got
Its the same as the other Evolutions I played with
Stock Aero
Advan TCII / RGII
Aero Mirror
Straight Wing
CF Bonnet

Its accel isnt as great as an Evolution VIII or IX
But I find it to be fair
I just stay close to the other cars waiting for chances to pass while trying to block if needed
And if you hit a car or something you have some accel to catch up
I havent tried it for DX+ yet though only DX

How is this Set up for Evo 9

Aero set A
VOLK RACING CE28N
3d wing
stock mirrors
rally art sticker
Red neons

Should i change the stock mirrors to aero?

Btw, i hate having to bump this to the front burner like this, but anybody got any suggestions for the Evo9 involving the new Rays rims?

Good nimbleness from aero a, but i dunno if it is still as godly as it was on dx, when compared to dx+... c28N, is a good rim, 3d-wing seems heavy but overall, it should be fairly balanced...

The lightest hood is just carbon fibre hood, no duct in anyway...
