they should make a thread that explains what Carbon and ducted hood does, because the function they serve are frequently misunderstood. idea for sticky

No offense but I find it pointless.

Dressup doesn't affect anything. It just like Cosmetics on a car.

1 question

Is a rear wing (spoiler) classified as 'dress up' or 'cosmetics'?

yeah dressups don't affect anything, especially having a nice dress-up won't make you feel any better when you lose.

Lets not open up the dress up part debate....

Anyways - i used to think cyclones are good, but after testing them again on my evo - they require a LOT of attention and suffer from severe understeer

E6 and E5 are basically twins but when you tune and DU them differently,a lot of people feel that VI is the better of the 2 in performance. But the works sticker for the both of them really sucks.

I like the sticker for the E6 though! It's pretty and classic!!

@Zals: HAHA! Fail dude! But hope you find it soon!

@Fkn: I find that cyclones favour the slide spectrum... but rather than accel like 3-spoke... i find that they are for maintaining/reaching high speeds... I have to agree that they do understeer!

Yeah I TOTALLY agree with it, as my friend's R33 swapped the ducted bonet with the original one, nothing happened other than the fact that his front became something that can lift up my Evo 9. [/sarcasm]

Anyway, just FDU'ed my EVO 9 today, but I'm out of money and games left before inspection to complete my new set-up.

Maybe a thread for stickers, and another one for straight neons, then one more for spot neons w00t2.gif

Yeah agreed with that

Good for straights and light corners, but for a hakone rim or C1, its terrible because of the understeer and unless u can cope or manage that, its not a fantastic rim at all...

Typically u have to gas of *most* turns at the start when u expect understeer, if thats how u drive already then maybe the rim is ideal for u..

But yeah... slide slide slide

On the battle side, its pretty decent

Dont try 57f's, they slide like crazy on evo 8's. Try those enkei rims you get at level 10, or maybe TE37's

Very good evo 8 set up is

Aero C
Carbon Hood
3D Wing
TE37's

That set up looks very very good in white. No neons or stickers.

I will have to disagree with the people that say the dress up doesn't matter.
I know it does only because I have used several different evos all tuned differently and they all handle differently. But overall it's mainly the steering wheel. I notice that when I have a wide body with the wing by car the steering gets stiff and makes it easier to keep a straight line. But when I roll with no wing the cars rear is easier to wip out and the steering feels light. With a 3d wing it feels light also but it keeps an angled slide until you oversteer a little. Every wing gives a different feeling I have a evo 3,5,6,8rs and gsr and gto all fully tuned and atleast lvl 30 or higher
My favorite is the evo 3.

I just fully DUed my E6 today. Also discarded my J-SMs for RAYS RE30s.Went for a test drive on Wangan TA after that and shaved of 1 second off my original timing.Maybe the RE30s are good for Evos.I felt that it has enough grip, feels light and it does not slide like crazy unlike the J-SMs.

Settings are all original except for my carbon bonnet with ducts and the RE30s.
