I have evo8...what's a good setup for my car?
Do those things actually make a difference?

I tried someone's E8 a few days ago, doing a NBL>Wangan crown run using the following setup.

-Set A
-GT3
-ducted bonnet
-Rays TE37
-[i forget what mirror] - if it even makes a difference; i think it was stock

Was pretty balanced, very stable in turns. Hope this kinda helps.

No worries man, if you practiced enough, then you'll be good at it.
Start by playing Hakone. It's a track where people would beat newbies easily at. I used to have " I am a HAKONE NOOB" written all over my face, but no longer biggrin.gif

Make a habit of it then biggrin.gif You know you can start practicing by challenging computer ghosts. They would purposely slow down for you to overtake them. I think at Super Hard level, they are usually 740HP cars with Biker Gang title.

I had problems with my Evo9, until I changed my hood to FRP with Ducts. Carbons never bodes well with Lancers. Well, it's just my opinion.

Well, as long as you know the basics and that you can't overpower the wall (no matter how godly you think you are) -- which I've seen happen once -- then you're good2go.

--

For boss's benefit: I heard this way back when, and the comparison is definitely incomplete -- and what I can remember might be incorrect, so can anyone [w/ exclusion of boss] fill in:
SPOILER

<No offense, boss.>

Essentially then, my evo8 pales in comparison to your evo9. sad.gif
Provided that the information is accurate...XD
I find that the top speed on the evo8 is really low too....
Well, in the end, I think how you race makes the difference, anyways.

What it is is not that one is inferior to the other, it's more of a trade-off, most notably in the speed and accel departments. And I'm asking for completion of that info -- I only put down what I can recall correctly; anything in doubt was left out until it can be verified.

Oh, at first I didn't see the difference in top speed...so I thought all it said was Evo8: heavier weight, slower acceleration....hehe :x

Well, I've grown accustomed to turning with the Evo 8...the weight doesnt really make a difference...the slow acceleration is kind of annoying for Ghost Battling the king...they always pass you, then block you on first turn. = =

The weight is an awesome trait.

If you learn blocking and weight-ramming in racing, you're bound to frustrate the opponent. Of course, once you've reached a certain level of skill, you're bound to look for more cars to try. Evo8 is a great car for beginners. But I disliked it though sad.gif

Nope, with Skill, you can be best at any car in wangan. (Boost on), you can catch up with any evos or skylines and stand up to their ramming if you know how to strike at the right place at the right time

my goal ^^^coz i always nip around in my R2 and Hiace, both in Namco decal XD

Its rumoured that RS is lighter and slightly faster, and GSR is heavier and slightly slower.

The RS is for TA and the GSR is for battle.

Its only a theory though, some people say there is not difference and soome say there is.

RS in actual fact is a strip down ver of the normal Evo

basically all creature comforts like sound proofing, posh seats have been removed and only have mechnical LSD instead of the usual ADC and AYC trick 4WD system in the normal GSR

and its suppose to be fitted with a 5 speed gearbox in the RS ver

LOL, but in the game it makes no difference.

I was about to flame until I read "actual fact"

Yeah

Evo RS = White starting colour. Possibly lighter and faster than the GSR. Also has different rims as stock and different rear lights compared to the GSR.

Evo GSR = Red, grey or silver as your starting colour. Possibly heavier and slower than the RS. Also has BBS rims as stock and different rear lights compared to the RS.

And no they do not look the same.

Just like with the R35's. Spec V has a different wing and different rims compared to the standard R35.

In game, RS is not lighter and faster than GSR nor the other way. It doesn't make a difference when you change the colors and get a different name. No, it doesn't work that way.

On the other hand, if you enter code and get an entirely different car of the same model, MS6 and MS6 Driving School, now those are different.

Just like how people state out how different R35 and SpecV are. They're right.

And oh, before you cry out "It's bullshit!". Nope, it's from the man himself, Maeda.

Ahhh, i see.

Link us to the thing that states that there is no difference between the models.

Lol, this thing is just like dress up. Some believe that dress up effects the car and some say it doesnt.

Stock color
>RS: White
>GSR: anything besides white
Evo9 and EvoX are exception to this.

Anything else is just personal opinion until proven otherwise.

well i stated clearly in my previous post that the difference in RS and GSR is for the actual car

but Namco made the both ver of the Evo 8 the same except the difference in the looks.

The RS is using hubcap rims while the GSR model is using 6 spokes Enkei Rims not BBS rims unless its the MR ver

Mitsubishi love to create different ver of their Evos, pretty confusing

For Evo 9 they kept to one ver which is the MR

Same goes for the Evo X one ver but could be better if it came with the 6 speed SST Dual Clutch transmission.

last sat i tested my own Evo X FT on wangan TA, at the downhill tunnel section, i was able to hit 347km/h top speed using stock bodykit with Advan T6 is this consider fast for the Evo?
