Well then if the car is heavy, shouldnt it gain more speed on the downhill section then cause of all the weight? Not sure what the exact process is called but all i know is that heavier objects move faster than lighter objects when on a downhill slope. Just sayin...

All cars will have the same top speed regardless of dress up.

Gravitational force? Inertia is the better word I guess.

kinetic energy?

This is why humans are doomed. In order to understand this you must understand thee theory of relativity. Einsteins theory, wich is pretty much just a variation of newtons law. The heavier car would be faster downhill if their was no opposing forces meaning STRAIGHT downhill. I can't really explain this any other way.

Z34 Stock Aero Yoko T7 Carbon Hood Stock Mirror, Kiba towards Wangan = max top speed 349km/h

Z34 Aero Set B Yoko T7 Carbon Hood Stock Mirror, Kiba towards Wangan = max top speed 349km/h

Z34 Aero Set C Yoko T7 Caron Hood Stock mirror, Kiba towards Wangan = max top speed = 349km/h

it doesn't give higher top speed. But one of those kits listed above does have a faster acceleration when going downhill but the time gained was balanced back when going uphill. Pointless for TA, but definitely useful for battle especially when the battle is on Wangan.

I'm sorry, but I'm LMAO at the hilarity. Jumbotron was just bad, but cyber-slapping... oh, my ribs!
And the talk on physics? OMGWTH!?

Anyways...
I think A2 is my Evo9's "magic setup" <prolly not the technical definition, but the shoe kinda fits...>. Tried A3, but the handling being extra-sensitive just wasn't for me.
Still working on finding rims other than the TE37.
Gonna black-out my silver E9 and invert the S-ranked one.

WHT Pearl --> ORN
F4 (WHT) w. Neon (GRN/Bar)
A2/DC;
Rays V.R. TE37 (WHT)

Cool SLV Metallic --> BLK
F4 (GRY) w. Neon (RED/Bar)
A2/C
RS Watanabe EIGHT SPOKE (RED)

Alright. So I just hit dress-up level 45, and took over a couple of courses. My storyline is completed, and I have 820 HP.

I was feeling super accomplished until this group of people who have more experience with the game than I do (they had some of the records on the machines) and I just found out that dress-up parts are not purely cosmetic.
So I'll get to the chase.

What parts would be best for my EVO IX CT9A? Also, does paint job and decal really affect weight?

Are you playing MT3 or MT3DX or MT3DX+?

Sounds like MT3 cause in DX and DX+ theres 825hp and the level that you finish ghost mode at is 63.

Paint, decal and neons do nothing. Everything else does.

For my evo 9 i went all stock. It's really good. A common battle set up is Aero A, 3D wing and TE37 wheels.

I don't remember what body kit I have, I think I might have Aero A, but I know I have a stock wing, and some 8 spoke rims. I was told that the neons add balance to the car though. Not 100% sure. And yes I'm only playing Maxi 3, since it's the one that's at the arcade I work at. I should be getting into 3DX+ sooner or later though, since I live closer to a place that has a machine

Neons do nothing to your car. Those 8 spokes arent really that great for Evo 9s. 57F, TE37 and 3 spokes are good.

If you have a stock wing then you must have stock. Although Aero A does look very similar to stock.

Hmm. I had 3 spoke rims before. What about 5 spoke? I saw a thread that said 5 spoke are the best for all EVOs (Lurking ftw). I don't know the names of the the rims all like that, Lol.

Also, would I need a different hood? they suggested carbon fiber, but I don't really like the way carbon fiber looks in this game, so I choose not to use it.

All stock is actually pretty heavy. I know, it's weird. When you hear the word stock you automatically think light, but for the evo 9 is on par with aero c probably.

They were the ones who told me that dress up parts actually do stuff to the car. I thought the dress up parts were just cosmetic/ RICE, but it turns out they aren't. So apparently, I need to find a good set up. My favorite courses are Hakone Outbound, Hanshin Loop, and C1 Inbound.

You dont need to find a good set up. You just need to adapt to your current one. Set up wont do much.
