Some fun with my Starion (driven by friends):

Time Attack Yokohane Upward

SPOILER

VS Battle on C1, made funny thanks to one of the players (the one driving the Evo) having problems with his voice and thus ended up making silly animal like noises, usually like a howling dog laugh.gif

SPOILER

laugh.gif That would be a huge barrel of laughs.

You can especially hear him in the first video at 0:52 when his Evo gets rammed by the Starion at a barrier on the left side just before the divider - he really squawks there laugh.gif

One of my teammates, who's pretty much mastered TA and happens to be a real life racing school instructor.

Oh and speaking of the Starion, a couple of my other friends had some very interesting things to say about it when I let them try it out. One of them who did some TA's claimed it handled like an R34 and thus though it was 4WD, so he was surprised when I told him the Starion was RWD. He also noted it for having a big tendency to fishtail. The other friend who tried it in VS mode claimed it was both "heavy" and "light" at the same time - "heavy" because it was like a tank and very hard to ram, "light" because it couldn't quite push back.

I remember when we played during Ozinefest, that Starion was hard as heck to push, even when I was using a JZA80! I was actually surprised it looked to handle well despite hearing from some others that it was like a GTO more than an R34.

E9#1 (OLD):Set A, straight wing, stock mirror; ducted carbon; Rays TE37s
Very good accel and speed attainment/maintenance past 330; universal rule of better handling at lower HP+gear applies, but TE37s still make it pretty heavy.
E9#1 (UPDATED): Set A, type wing, aero mirror; regular ducted; Yokohama TCII
Accel's pretty good up to 5th gear, but struggles with high-level speed attainment past 318, clawing hard for 332; fair grip/slide, but type wing makes a rough entry on a curve/turn more prone to overcorrection.

E9 #2: Set A, straight wing, aero mirror; ducted carbon; Rays 77NTLs or Yokohama T5s
Decent accel, good high-level speed attainment up to 325; straight wing gives very good stability, but 77NTLs has better slide while T5s has better grip.

You're going to get the red meter on it, Enlil?

What Aero kit and bonnet are on it anyway? The one in the video looks different from the one you posted in the MT4 car photo gallery.

It's Aero B. I did some more ghost battles before taking another picture and posting it in the gallery.

When I have the time I'll go for the Red Meter, but I'm certain it's going to be tough.

Not kidding this time. Thanks to the Pajero's POV, I nearly lost on a few stages in Story Mode in the first loop. From experience, the 2nd loop of MT4 is at least 50% harder than the first. I should know - I botched TWO LOOPS of Story Mode on my RK Coupe before I got the Red Tach.

I thought of a new way to take on story mode and the POV. Use First-Person view when on straights especially on Wangan, switch back to Third-Person view before corners.

Use 1st person at the end, usually on straights so you just need to avoid traffic.

And its not really *that* much harder... Or my supras story would be ridiculous =p

Swapped out parts for my Evo9. I found early on that Aero Set A and straight wing worked wonders, but couldn't quite figure out bonnet/wheel combinations. Listed are the wheels tested and my opinion on them:

-Rays TE37 with ducted carbon: The whole setup was a little slower than normal coming off the line, but held a straight pretty well. Only real problem were sharp turns at low speed were at low-speed -- the TE37s weight combined with the slower acceleration to create a problem that could be magnified if the E9 were forced to a zero-stall.
IMHO: I found the whole setup best for straight courses and poor for turn-heavy courses; simply, the setup becomes ever-less effective the more turns the course has.

-Rays 77NTL w/ ducted carbon: quite responsive slip, slide recovery is a little less. Better than with regular carbon. Regular ducted could've improved this some more.
IMHO: Well-rounded, but better-suited for courses with a focus on either wide high-speed sections or sharp low-speed turns.

-Yokohama T6 w/ ducted carbon: Raced it against my friend on C1/NBL, found it to handle superbly; stops on a dime, even into/from a turn. However, found it to appear Power-deficient when racing on NBL (Kiba)>Wangan -- started to lose speed on the way up outta the tunnel.
IMHO: Best for turn-heavy courses, extremely poor for stretch courses.

-Rays SUPERIOR with ducted carbon: Better than the T6. Basically the T6 with the speed-maintenance deficiency.
IMHO: Saw it. Tried it. Loved it. Kept it.

Ugh. I actually decided to try and go for the Red Tach for my Pajero, but as I feared, I botched it on Chapter 39 mad.gif which I can't help but attribute it to a possible glitch in the AI script. What happened was that in the final few hundred meters of the race, the Blackbird backed off as expected, but the Devil Z somehow kept its pace and I couldn't keep up with it all the way to the finish!

39? Or do you mean 59...

Why didn't you try immediately retiring? Or it was too late to retire I can say...
