Yeah, I can't even understand this myself.
As I said in the Mazda thread, I don't know if my eyes or even my mind is playing tricks on me....but yeah.
Anyways, I'll keep on trying this with my MX-5 for three months. Hopefully I can find out what this problem is (if it is there).
Current best on Hakone(DX+): 4'50'1xx
P.S. Perhaps this question might help me answer this mystery bothering me (and help me solve this). The question is: Has the game physics in DX+ changed? If so, in what way has it changed? If so, how does/did this affect the MX-5?

hey guys......
I have a problem.... basically this will be a long read, so I'll apologize in advance.
My problem is... I can't play in this course AT ALL. I hit every single corner, yes, every single one.
anyways yea, I suck at this map so bad to the point that I will always be 4th no matter who I vsed. Even last time this dude wasn't even FTed and I still got owned.
now my question is... is there some points to know about this track? Like... doing something different compared to other maps.... things to watch out?
yes I have practiced, but no luck. so I'm thinking there must be something that I'm missing, like something I have to watch out for.
how do u tackle the corners anyways? Brake? let go of gas? I usually let go of gas...
What hp should I be using? everyone seems to use 760.... I use 700hp and I cant even survive.... I don't think its because of my car. I use a Z33, and if I remember correctly, back in the MT3 days I've heard that Z33 is one of the worst cars to use on Hakone. While MR2 is one of the best.
but I don't play much DX, last time I play was around Jan 2008 LOL. but I've been playing again this month. so yea I'm not sure if Z33 still sucks on Hakone.
But I mean, I don't think so, because Im pretty sure someone here who drives a Z34 took the Hakone crown. And I assume the 33 and 34 is similar XD
any advice? 1) do I just suck so bad, need more practice? if so, any thing I need to know about the map.. like how to tackle most corners? letting go of gas.. brake? I usually let go of gas...
2) is the Z33 really a bad car in Hakone? and that lots and lots of practice is required?
THANKS in advance.

Any car can get through hakone.
Practice makes perfect, watch ta videos, see how others do it in your local arcade, watch, copy and adapt.
It will take some time.
Also, keep in mind that a lot of people have trouble with this course because they try to drive it like a highway course. Hakone is a mountain course. Try and use the brakes often, very often in hakone.
The way I learned was trying to get through a hakone ta by going 825 and trying to get through without hitting a wall.
Then from that, i tried 760 and 740 and gained an appreciation for the grip i have then I would form lines from that. Such as wall tapping on the red corners.
just keep practicing, battles on hakone and ta.

QUOTE (hanzel2m @ 2 hours, 14 minutes ago) | I see... so no special trick huh...
do you recommend break on the yellow corners or let go of gas? or should I never let go of gas? |
you have to be more specific, every turn is different. But, as a general rule of thumb, brake when you need to, to avoid hitting a wall, because its better to brake hard then to crash.
gas off makes your car slide more then it should, you should exercise caution since it will not slow your car down as much and will result in a crash because you entered a corner too fast.
I sent you a pm, lets talk on msn.
