Been doing VS battles on Hakone with my Supra lately, and I'm getting the urge to do some TA's to see how much I can do with it.

I know the Supra is a tank in Hakone, but still, I enjoy the track too much to let it pass. happy.gif

Any car can do fine on hakone. The supra is only slightly larger than an rx-8, don't let size alone discourage you.

FINALLY! NOW I CAN FOCUS ON IMPROVING MY OUTBOUND TIME. I'm more comfy with it than the inbound.

SPeaking of which; I don't know if most of you even observe this but...

during ghost battles, what time are you aiming for at Hakone Outbound and what times do you end up with?

I aim for 2"30"XXX

My fastest was 2"33"XXX
Slowest would fall at 2"36"XXX

Any thoughts or possible places where I mess up and did wrong?

Well you are affected by boost in ghost battle so times are kind of irrelevant.

Well it was a King Crown Battle so I figured that boost won't be much of an issue :v

actually king battles do have boost, but it kiks in after a certain amount of distance. but if your all pulling similar times their shouldnt be a king who puts more than a car length on you

^ Hmmm...

Takes on ONINS' Evo8 at Yokohane Northbound
Does flawless run; no wall hits, good angles.
ONINS IS STILL AHEAD BY 180m.
2"25"XXX clock in. A fast time.
YOU LOSE.

^ What about this case?

Well boost isn't going to really help out. Remember he may use the ghost car he versed as a wall to get a fast exit speed out of a corner that would normally be impossible.

Ghost kings will get slower with time.

Did you try staying behind him and copying exactly his lines in and out? If you did and you lose by 100m still then probably you are playing in a laggy cab.

Ah N*MAC, I have 2x S30z and GRB at Story 40 each, max 800 hp.
I only ghost mode with them now. at 660 or 680 on hakone against 800-815 hp ghosts and default a.i ghosts. I usually get 400-500, not sure on 600-700m. But yeah on hakone with those cars.

Is that good? I used to have a vid somewhere, but it was against a human ghost.
Found it - its 338m against a shitty fulltuned 780.. dam.. i can do like 400+ against ZZZZZ i think

Sorry bro can't help you out on that one cause the difference between a full-tuned car and your HP is a lot. I don't ghost battle at all not until I full tune a car so I have no experience whatsoever playing around that HP in ghost battle mode... sad.gif

i can shed light on the situation. you're doing what i did a few times before realising i rather FT. at 660 you should be at drift settings and probably closer to balanced. either way i remember pulling more distance at that speed, here's a good example. Most guys FT that are "good" at hakone can pull over 1300+ meters on IB and OB hakone. I cant really help you with the numbers but your pretty much pulling about half if not less than the distance with a car thats not FT.

FT your cars to really compare yourself in TA, distance too if thats your thing. fear2.gif

Nah these 2 cars were a stupid project to test myself against full tuned cars or ghosts in ghost battle... lol

I do have ft'd cars, 3-4 of them, i just like these unique (feels drifty) Story 40 cards of mine... going through hakone is a breeze AND feels difficult and is fun at the same time. while on lower HP. but drift just as much as balance/D on gripHP lol

My local area is full of scum so they're not usually that good, so yeah.
I could smoke and block a lad in c1 (at any hp) with 680 and just block em all day.

Also DrfitVG, this is in 3DX+, we only have 1 hakone... = [

The cab was fine. Rockwell has 2 cabs with the "REboot to clear system" sign and 2 which are perfect. One of them; the last one which is one of the perfect-form cabs also has the tendency to consider 1 swipe as 2 games. I play on that cab mostly. I used that last cab on my race with him. I tried copying yes. My only disadvantage was because I was using the Z, he's in the Evo. Aside from me burning my speed too much at some corners, I still got owned. And the cab wasn't lagging. :V

Is a gap of 865m against ZZZZZ good enough?
I used my Z33 on the outbound, 2 wall taps only. I focused on keeping it at gear 4-5 mostly.

Got a time of 4'53.xxx with the JZA80 today, would be in the 40 seconds range if not for a few wall kisses on the outbound. I think I can improve more, and I'll try to aim for at least 48 seconds. happy.gif
