I remember seeing a 830HP/DG battle, 4 cars in Hakone once. Crazy shit.

Same thing here, Inbound and/or Outbound samewise.

I get what you mean, it messes up the boost, the priority, the lines to use to get boost, and catching up.
Not to mention if theres any actual blockers.

Really fun to ram and burn with that kind of setup

That happens when 4 players agree for fun or serious line mode.
But the best is 600 /HG with the guys from melbourne before.
IN BOOST OFF.

I still remember with the 370z.

I have yet to see that type of battle for myself, but that.. I think that's how you go serious mode in Hakone.. damn.

Although ardly see Silvia players these days. I assume it would be too fast for hakone, but with its size it won't be an issue.

I started out with a Silvia S13/14/15 on ID2... (never played it, only once, then ported it 5-7 years later on ID3 recently last year)

Reminds me I should be tuning a Silvia. How does it fare on Hakone? (Spec-Vemil)

Well, it actually corners greatly to me. Also, it wasn't even FT'ed (around 800HP only) and yet its holding up impressively. Its the only car I have that can give me a chance in Hakone, literally.

And yeah, its my secondary car now, after noting what it can do on technical courses like Yaesu and C1.

Funny you say that, because the S15 tends to be pretty slidey.

Each to their own. I never knew what my Z31 could do until IGOR got 2:27.380 on Hakone Inbound on his first try.

It's IGOR, brah. He can handle any car in Hakone as if it is an FD.

Hm... if that's so.. I guess it pretty much works well with my style then. It only felt grippy to me there, not sure why.

Wait until you get that to FT and running proper 760. You'll probably see different.

I have an S15 and it is a bit slidey compared to my mx-5.

Hmm, I guess I might as well FT the S15. But not the Loke one, I have another spare S15 I can use..

And considering how good you are with the MX-5, I guess I can vouch in on that.

So I've been skimming through google maps on the Wangan Hakone a.k.a. Hakone Skyline / Ashinoko / Mt. Kojiri... looks like the route IS canon. Canon in the sense that it's the exact place where Kijima got the FC from Hayashi.

It covers both Shizuoka & Gotenba (primarily Gotenba).

That and the game's roundabout is fictituous. On the outbound IRL, the road does not drop, it continues uphill steadily.

If you go further north/outbound you go to Nagao pass. DH from there brings you to Gotemba.

I take it Mt. taikan is not only showcased at Initial D (IDAS8 is getting that same road btw; not sure if the speed cap will be lifted and the first point-to-point IDAS map to go past 200 km/h...) I take it it has been showcased on the Ogishima Arc / WM C1 Runner when Ogishima in an R35 was racing against a local in a Hakosuka making it a canon map too.

Of course lava moves slowly so its not a big deal i guess...

So how about a pyroclastic flow =D
